Back in the party
"Wow, I knew everyone wanted to be at these parties, but I didn't realise that everyone was at these parties," Mike said as soon as we walked in.
"I know, the feeling of betrayal is massive, isn't it?" Dani said from next to him.
"Do we think that Mikayla and Jake will get with each other tonight?" Grace asked, appearing from nowhere.
"I wouldn't be surprised. He likes her a lot and she looks like she likes him as well." James said, appearing next to them.
"Come on, what is this? Are we going to have some fun or just stand in a line next to each other for the rest of the night? We all look like wierdos," asked Miley.
"She's got a fair point, let's go," Lou said.
"Hey, I knew you would come." Candace said, pulling me to the side and pinning me up against a wall.
"Woah, I'm not here for you, I'm here with my mates. I know I don't know you, and I wouldn't mind getting to know you, but you are quite full on right now and I don't respond well to that," I said, lightly pushing her off of me.
"Oh, ok. At least give me your number so that we can talk," Candace said doing her best impression of a puppy dog face, but with the lights and makeup, it didn't look natural and kinda scared me.
"Yeah, sure thing," I said, handing her my phone. As she was typing her number into my phone, I looked around and saw the others, minus Grace.
"I'm done," Candace said, handing me my phone. I went to take it and when I had my hand on it she held onto it a bit tighter and grabbed my wrist. "Call me," she said, whispering in my ear.
"Sure, ok. I need to go," I said. I pretty much ran away from her after that.
"Hey Jake, come over here." I heard someone say. I looked over in the direction of the voice and saw one of the people that Grace and I beat up earlier today.
"Yo, what's up?" I asked.
"So, I know that we haven't gotten off to the best start, but we did some research on you and found out that you know how to play football. How would you like to join the team?" He asked.
"I'll think about it," I said. I wasn't sure if I was going to actually join but I knew that it would be the only way to get them to leave me alone for a while.
"Okay, but be sure to actually think about it and you're not saying it to get away from us," he said. "I'm Luke, by the way." he said, holding out his hand for me to shake.
"Nice to meet you," I said, shaking his hand. "I'm here with some friends and I kinda want to get back to them." After that, I turned around and left. As I was walking, I saw Mikayla, and then I saw some dude just come out of nowhere, and start to pin Mikayla up against a wall and force himself on her; kind of like a male version of Candace. That really got my blood boiling. I didn't have a reason to be annoyed by this, I had only met Mikayla today. I started to walk towards Mikayla, fully prepared to pull this guy off of her and beat him to a pulp, but Lou stopped me.
"Woah there, buddy. She doesn't like it when people jump in to fight her battles. Just sit, relax, and enjoy the show." he said. As if on cue, Mikayla grabbed the poor guy's pinky finger on his left hand that he was using to lean against the wall with, and twisted it, and put him into an arm lock. I was in complete shock. She then looked over at us, and I gulped. She smiled, brushed her hair behind her ears and headed towards us.
"Jesus dude, you never said she could fight." I said.
"You scared?" he asked.
"A bit." I joked. "That was amazing! Where did you learn to do that?" I said as she reached us.
"My dad used to be in the army, so he thought that it was a good idea to teach me some self defence," she explained.
"Remind me to not get on your bad side, but I think that we should head out." I joked.
"Yeah, I think that was her boyfriend. Well, time to go." She said, and then started to walk towards the door.
"You heard the lady, time to go." I said. As we were walking towards the door, Lou was signalling to the others that it was time to go, which they looked kind of relieved about. Once we got back to the cars, we were kinda happy to see that the cars were fine and that nothing had happened to them. That would have been an interesting apology and explanation to our parents. "Hey Grace, you take the girls back, I take the guys?"
"Well, I was thinking. It's kinda late, we're going to have to drive all over the place to take them back to their houses. How about you talk to mum and dad and ask if they can crash at ours. We then drive them to school, and they take their cars home tomorrow." She suggested. Everyone seemed to look at me and like the idea.
"I'll talk to mum and dad in the car." I said.
"Great, see you at home. You guys should probably let your parents know what's happening. I'll take the girls." Grace said walking towards the girls.
"OK, lets go." I said as we all walk to our cars.
"Hey mum and dad. I know this is completely out of the blue and the house might not be in the best of shape as you would like, but Grace and I made some friends at school were wondering if they could stay the night? We've just been at a party, we haven't had anything to drink so don't worry, and it's really late. So, can they stay?" I asked as we were driving back to the house.
"Sure, are their parents ok with it?" My mum asked.
"Hi Mrs Hills, our parents are fine with it. Grace and Jake said that they will drive us in to school and we will take our own cars back to our homes tomorrow after school." Mike said from the back seats.
"OK, see you guys when you get here." She said, and then hung up the call.
"Hey Siri, call Grace." I said aloud.
"OK, calling Grace," the robot voice replied.
"What's up?" Grace replied.
"Mum and dad said that it's ok. Everyone just needs to make sure that their parents are ok with what's happening." I replied.
"Cool, see you at home." Grace said, and then ended the call.
"Hey dude, I think Mikayla might like you." James teased me.
"Shut up," I jokingly replied and glanced next to me.
"Woah, I think he might seriously like her back," Lou carried on from the back.
"Do you guys think that I have a chance?" I asked looking in the rear view mirror and next to me with a serious face.
"I think that if you actually like her then go for it. If she says yes, then good for you, but remember that if you hurt her, we will come for you. If she says no, then it will be awkward for a bit but you won't stop being our mate." Mike replied.
"So, I take it I have you guys's blessings?" I asked.
"In that many words, yes." Mike replied.
In Grace's car
"Hey Mikayla, I think my brother might actually like you." Grace teased Mikayla, causing her to blush and look down with a sudden interest in her shoes.
"Seriously?" Mikayla asked.
"You say seriously like it's such a surprise that someone might like you." Grace replied.
"I just haven't had much luck when it comes to that sort of stuff." Mikayla said.
"She's got a point Mikayla, he acts really fidgety when he's around you," Miley said.
"And looks out for you a lot. He was going to jump in and punch the dude for you at the party," Dani carried on.
"Why didn't he?" Mikayla asked.
"Lou stopped him because he knew that you don't like it when people do things like that for you."
"Oh, ok. Fair enough."
"Well, this has been a lovely conversation ladies but unfortunately its going to have to wait until we get out of earshot of Jake before we can carry on the conversation, we are home." Grace said as she pulled in next to Jake's car.
"How did they get here before us?" Dani asked.
"They must have taken a short cut," Grace replied, getting out and pulling her chair forward. "Time to meet my family." She muttered.
"You guys took your time," Lou said as they walked through the door.
"She's a bit of a slow driver, isn't she," I joked.
"It doesn't matter, we're all here now," my mum interrupted. "The boys will be sleeping in Jake's room and the girls will be sleeping in Grace's. It's a school night so you guys should start to get ready for now."
"Sure thing, come on guys. Goodnight mum," I said as I kissed her cheek. "Where's dad?" I asked.
"Already in bed, he had a migraine so I didn't think it was a good idea to make him stay up for you guys," Mum replied.
"Yikes," I said. As we all walked up the stairs I walked to my parent'r room, cracked open the door and whispered, "Goodnight dad." Somehow the guys managed to find my room on their own and not go into Grace's by mistake. I made a couple of bed's out of Duvets, pillows and other things that I could find under my bed and in the bottom of the closet that no-one used anymore. We then all got changed/undressed, had a bit of food and went to sleep.
