ch. 04 Mate's bond

Red's P.O.V

"Good morning princess" Caleb mumbled eating. "good morning" he smiled at me and took a sip on his coffee. "wants some coffee?" Mrs. Holmes mumbled. She is the head cook of the pack.

"yes please, and waffles too" she nodded and handed me a plate of waffles and a cup of coffee. "thank you," I said and smiled.

"where's your father Caleb?" I asked, "He left this morning" he mumbled, "do you have plans for this evening?"

"Yeah, me, Ava and Jason are eating out tonight" he furrowed his brows at me, "but they're both omegas, why are you hanging out with them and not with the ranked members?" I sighed

"Caleb, it doesn't matter who I hang out with, as long as they're my friends I will hang out with them as much as I can and btw they're my best friends" I said to him, "okay, you really are different, I'm so amazed and I'm glad that there are actually alphas like you."

"okay, I'll take that as a compliment." I sipped my coffee, "so, can I come with you guys?"

"maybe some other time," I mumbled. "do you hate me?" I widened my eyes "not really?" I said to him. "good morning everyone! And to you too Caleb" Jason chirped entering the room, Caleb just nodded at him "good morning" I said.

"Red let's go we're gonna be late" I quickly ate all my waffles and drank my coffee, "oh and grab an apple for Ava" Jason asked and left the room.

"bye Caleb, I'll see ya later" I smiled at him, "I sure will" he winked at me and I just rolled my eyes, I grabbed an apple on the way and waved to Mrs. Holmes.

We arrive at school and head to the students lockers to grab some some books.

I was about to leave the lockers when I caught a sweet scent and I knew it was my mate Finn, I should make a plan to talk to him soon, 'now is the time' Devon said. 'Patience Devon, he will be ours' Finn left and head to the classrooms.

During lunch break I went and look for him at the cafeteria, but he's not here, his scent was here, but I think he already left sooner.

Finn have two subjects similar to mine this afternoon, I'll have to make a move to get closer to him.

when I entered the classroom, the seats were already occupied except on the front so I have no choice but to sit there while fin is at the back, he took a glance at me and I met his eyes and stared at each other for a few seconds and he looked away.

after that class we proceed to the next subject and this time for sure I will sit next to him.

Alas we sat beside to each other, the teacher didn't show up for a few minutes now, Finn is resting his head on the table and his arms folded covering his face, "Finn, are you ok?" I shook his shoulder gently, he looked at me, "Yeah" he mumbled and I smiled at him. "you seem to have something that's bothering you," he shook his head and I just stare at him "I'm nervous",

he talked to me finally and it made me really happy. "and why is that?" I asked, he sighed deeply "I have an audition after this class and I don't know if I can do it."

We are conversing, this is a start, I should keep this up until we are close as friends, I need to figure out something to help him.

"Just think of something that makes you relax" I said to him, "I'm trying and it's not helping" he mumbled hiding his face, "try holding my hand and think of someone you love" he quickly tilted his head and I was blushing, I offered him my left hand and he held it with his right hand, he didn't even hesitate and as soon as he held my hand I feel the electricity of our bond, I was sure that my heart just made a backflip, his touch was warm and comforting, his scent became stronger. "this helps, I think, I'm feeling a little better" he mumbled and it made me blushed, I can't help but smile. I reached my right arm and held his right hand with both of my hands. we stayed like that for a few minutes and he just closed his eyes.

There were so many werewolves eyeing us and trying to link me but I told them to not bother and blocked them.

"How do you feel?" he opened his eyes " I'm feeling a lot better now" he said, and the bell rang. he pulled his hand and I let go, "thank you" He mumbled. "you're welcome, glad I can help and break a leg"

he smiled at me "I will, see you later Red" he said and left. Oh my Goddess, he is so attractive when he smiles.

I watched him as he left the room, that moment when he held my hand was amazing and I could tell that the our bond has gotten stronger. I will never let him go.

I followed his scent trail and heard that he was already singing, I opened the door and entered the room, Our eyes met for a second, he's voice fits perfectly and hitting the right notes at the right moment. I closed the door and remained at the back. He glanced at me few times and he's just singing his heart out. After his performance I clapped the first and everybody else followed. I looked at him and he is so happy and everybody cheered on him. I didn't want to attract attention so I left immediately.

I went home and prepare for this evening, Ava was very excited that she was already prepared 2 hours ago.

I looked at the time and it's already 7:40 pm and my stomach is growling.

"where's Jason? he should be here by now," I looked at Ava wearing a brown turtle neck sweater and blue jeans. "wait, let me call him"

after 2 rings Jason answered, "where the hell are you? we've been waiting for you for 40 minutes, "sorry about that, I'm bringing dinner with me."

" what? I thought we were going to eat outside? " Ava said, "yeah, we are and I'm on my way to pick you guys up, I'm almost there"

Jason ended the call.

A minute later Jason arrived with his car, he rolled the window down, "hop on ladies" he mumbled and we just quickly went inside his car.

I can smell the fried chicken, gravy and fries in the basket.

"I thought we are going to a fancy restaurant this time." I sad, "Fancy restaurants is too over rated and hella expensive" he mumbled.

He drove the car and left the pack, "where are you taking us anyway?" I said, "you'll know when we get there. " he said, Ava and I are a bit shocked, because Jason never take as out for a surprise.

15 minutes later I looked out of the window while Ava and Jason are chattering.

"this place looks familiar" I blurted out, "wait this is.." I looked at Jason and he is just smiling.

"okay, we're here"Jason parked the car and I quickly stepped outside and the view was nostalgic, I looked up and the sky was aglow with the pale crescent moon, and the stars we're like diamonds. There is a cabin which I didn't know it existed.

"I don't remember a cabin here" I said to Jason and he smiled, "I made it, I mean it took a while, but I just finished it a week ago"

We used to have a picnic here with Jason's family, we used to play games and camp.

" Oh my Goddess! Jason, this is amazing! " Ava mumbled with a huge grin on her face.

" 5 years ago I think, you both were just hanging out together without me and I just occasionally visit this place." Jason mumbled and walked to the tree that has a wooden table and cylindrically shaped wooden chair.

Ava hugged Jason and I ran to both of them so I can join them, Jason reaches his hand to me and pulled me for a hug, the three of us hugged for a minute with Jason at the middle.

"we didn't really grow apart, we just thought that you wouldn't like hanging out with girls anymore, because we always see you hanging out with Keane and Keaton and other boys from the pack." I said. "but we still hangout, but not very often," Ava said.

"Yeah and we're still best friends, you should've just invite me" Jason said " yeah we're sorry" Ava and I made a puppy face looking at Jason " alright, come on let's eat! I'm starving" he said and we laughed

"thank you for this Jason, " I said, "we'll always hang out here from now on" Ava said.

"I'll bring some of my stuff here next time." I said, "oh me too!" Ava mumbled.

After eating and chattering we went inside the cabin, "there's soda, wine and beer on the fridge" Jason mumbled.

Ava opened the fridge and grab 2 sodas and toss 1 to me.

"you know what let's spend the night here" Ava mumbled, "yeah, sure, there are 2 bedrooms you guys can have the room and I'll just sleep on the couch." he said, "no, Ava and I can share" I said.

"okay, suit yourself" he said and went to the bathroom. I looked at the structures of the cabin and it is well made, "did you really made this yourself!?" I shouted to Jason in the bathroom. "made what?"

" this cabin" I mumbled and looked at Ava chugging a soda, " yeah, I did, but the structure design is from my uncle, he was an architect, but I'm the one who built this, he gave me a blueprint and after that I just bought the furnitures and necessities."

"this is really impressive" I complimented. Jason walkout of the bathroom "if you think that's impressive, you should check this out"

he went to the bedroom and gestured us to follow him, he grabbed the white blanket that was covering something.

A mini structure of the town, "you made this!?" Ava and I gasped "that's so cool!" Ava blurted, "wait I don't see the pack" Ava mumbled "I didn't include it since it is supposed to be hidden out of humans sight so basically I'll be giving them a map to our territory if they saw this" he said.

"speaking of human, Red there's something I need to tell you" he said at me in a serious manner, " okay, what is it?"

"earlier today I went to apologize to Finn after school and I gave him a ride home" he mumbled, "that's great" I said.

" there's something I said to him that I shouldn't have," I furrowed my brows, "I told him about becoming the future alpha?" Ava gasped and my eyes widened "you can't be serious!"

"did you tell him about us being a werewolves?" Ava said. "no, I didn't I just drove off after realizing I said something about him becoming an alpha"

I ran my hands to my hair "hey it's ok, he doesn't know about us so it's ok" Ava mumbled and I glared at Jason "what did he say after that?" I asked.

"nothing, he didn't believe me and I just drove away" he explained "ok good, but he might act suspicious on you for blurting out something and just run off" I said to him.

" I will figure this out" he mumbled. "You better be" Ava said.

"come on it's getting late we should sleep, we still have training tomorrow" I said and they both nodded.
