The missing princess

 "W-what's he doing here?" I ask, not able to keep the tremble from my voice. 


 Madame pushes me forward. "What do you think?" 


 When he realizes I'm not moving, the governor calls out to Madame, "how long do you want me to wait? I've paid you well enough for your troubles." 


 "What do you mean?" I call out to him. The bad feeling I've had is intensifying. I turn to Madame. "What does he mean?" 


 Madame looks at me, looking almost bored. "The governor bought you. If that nosey Lost Brain hadn't intervened- Now everything had to be ushered forward, but never mind, it all plays out the way it should go." 


 I slowly start walking towards where the governor stands. He seems to tower over me even more now and I shudder. How could this happen? Am I really marrying governor Eswich? 


 He bows down to me and whispers in my ear. "You will make a fine queen with me controlling you." 


 I try stepping away from him but he grabs my arm keeping me in place.
