Chapter 4

A very refreshing and relaxing life to start a new day for Daphne. She’s been longing for rest so when they arrived at their room yesterday she immediately climbed into her bed and fell asleep. She decided to just order food and eat at her room when she was hungry. She almost spent her time yesterday napping to regain strength and be ready for today for their long and exciting adventure tour.

She’s ready to go now. Daphne and her friend decided to meet at the lobby. But before she go she looked at her reflection in the mirror again and when she was satisfied with her look she grabbed her things and went outside her room. She went straight to where they would meet. When she arrived at the lobby she saw her friends waiting for her. When they’re all completed, they decided to eat their breakfast at the restaurant of this hotel. They all straightly go towards the resto.

When they enter at the resto the waiter assisted them to their table. When they started to follow the waiter to where they would seat someone got her attention. A man who is silently sitting while sipping a cup of coffee. She was shocked when she realized that the man who got her attention was Jaime.

Daphne are curious what Jaime is doing here? The fact that she knows that this hotel was not the one who was package on their tour to accommodate them was a big question as to why he is here.

This hotel is one of the most expensive hotel not only in Seoul but in entire South Korea that’s why it is not included in their tour package. Also this hotel is very strict in the safety of their customers that’s why only those who have their loyalty card are allowed to enter this hotel and the only people who are given this card are those who have high positions in Alta-society. If this is the case, Jaime is not a casual person. He has a higher position in the society whom they belong. That added Daphne’s curiosity of how could it be and how mysterious Jaime is, because she never saw nor heard his identity towards their business field.

With the curiosity she was thinking about because of Jaime, she didn’t notice that they went to the table where Jaime was.

She’s been interrupted by her deep thought when Angelo started talking.

“Good morning Jaime honey. We’re surprised seeing you here.” Angelo said.

“Oh hi there. What a surprised seeing you all here too. I don’t know that we shared the same Hotel. Do you have your table now?” Asked Jaime.

“Actually the waiter headed us to our table but since we saw you here so we decided to just join to your table. Are you alone?” Amy answered.

“Yeah I’m alone. Come join me here. Are you all here to have breakfast?” Jaime answered back.

“Yes, we will be having our breakfast here. Surely we are pleasure to share table with you.” Rose said.

“Come on lets all eat breakfast together. My treat so free to order what you want.” Jaime offered then call the attention of the waiter for the menu.

“How generous of you and since you offered a treat we are glad to accept the blessing.” Angelo said jokingly.

“It is pleasure to all treat you girls. Lets just say that as a thank you offering to all of you for giving me privilege to be with you all and be friends with you all.” Angelo.

“You’re welcome. But before I forgot, I’m just curious on why are you here? Why didn’t you stay on the hotel included in the tour package? Hope you don’t mind if I asked it.” Amy asked.

“About that, I don’t really stay at the hotel where the package of the tour was offering because I prefer to stay in a place where I am comfortable. That’s why I keep coming back to the hotels I know that will calm me down.” Jaime explained.

“Well I agree on what you said. It is okay to stay in a place where you feel calm and at peace.” Angelo agreed.

When their order been served they eat breakfast together. While they we’re eating they also talk about random topics with their life but most of the topic goes to Jaime’s life.

Daphne discover again some if Jaime’s traits. He has a sense of humor. So if he is the one whom you can be with you will never be bored. That traits added the attraction he fell for him.

They all enjoying the little chitchats when Amy asked about Jaime’s career.

“Daphne told as that you said you are a painter. How many years have you been in that career?” Amy asked.

“Actually starting I was a kid maybe 10 years old when I started to paint. But I’m in high school when my career starts. My favorite masterpiece was discovered by one of the veteran artists in the Philippines and said to put it in a museum to be exhibited but I refused because I didn’t want to sell that painting. So he told me to make another piece and I did and displayed there for exhibit. That’s when my painting career began.” Jaime said.

“You mean, it is a long time already. It really amazed me.” Rose said amazed on what Jaime shared.

“Yeah. But I an nit experienced in the field of painting. It was just my hobby. This is one of the things that gives me peace if mind.” Jaime.

“Are you painting only sceneries of beautiful places Aren’t you painting an image of a person? Or even try to paint one?” Rose asked.

“Yes I’m only painting sceneries of beautiful and wonderful places. But actually I have painted also a specific person who was a part of my life ever since I was a kid. That painting was a long time ago when I painted it. That was the reason why I discovered by the famous painter and suggested me to exhibit it.” Jaime explained to Amy.

“I think this person you painted was really close to your heart. Is it your mother whom you painted?” Angelo asked intriguingly.

“No she is not my mother whom I painted. She is some one who is closed to my heart.” Jaime said.

“A friend? Best friend? Girlfriend? Or a wife?” Rose asked.

“She is not my friend, nor my girlfriend, and specially not my wife because I’m not married yet. But this girl was the one who stole my heart when I was a kid. But sad to say I didn’t meet her in person.” Jaime said.

You will determine the sadness on his tone.

“Does that mean you just meet him on social media?” Amy asked curiously.

“Actually I don’t also her name. It is really strange but I just met her in my dream. Every now and then I always dream of her so I decided to paint her image.” Jaime said.

“So you mean to say that the girl you’ve been painted, you just met her in your dream? Seriously?” Rose said.

“Yeah. Before it is okay for me dreaming her every night and by the morning it seems nothing. I didn’t think that time would come when I would be eager to see her. I’ve been addicted dreaming of her. Until I just woke up one day, I realized that it was not just an attraction I fell towards her but I fell in love with that girl. That’s why I always travel around the globe. Not just for having an idea for the subject of my paintings but the main reason is to search that girl I’ve always dreaming. Hoping to find her someday.” Jaime said.

With what Jaime said, Daphne could not explained what she really feel. When he said he love someone her heart felt a pang for that . But she tries to ignore it.

“Whoa that was somehow magical. Even though it is strange but if that girl you’ve been dreaming was destined for you it will make a way for you to meet each other.” Angelo uplift Jaime.

“Have you found that girl you’ve been talking?” Daphne asked.

“About that. I am glad that finally after a long time of searching I already found that girl I’ve been dreaming. And I really can’t believe that it is possible that I saw her in person and I thank God for the chance.” Jaime said in a twinkling eyes.

That strikes her. Daphne couldn’t believe how strong her attraction towards Jaime. By that thoughts he said he already found that girl makes her heart broken and shattered into pieces. It is driving her insane of the mixed emotions she’s been feeling for him. Only Jaime give her that affection.

“Oh my. Really?” Amy said excitedly.

“Yeah . Maybe it was destiny that pushed us to meet.” Jaime.

“OMG. I still can’t believe that a man like you who owns the face that every woman drools believe in destiny. And base on your reaction, the way how your eyes sparks every time you mentioned her you’re fell in love really hard on that girl. All I can say is she’s lucky because you exerted so much efforts just to find her.” Angelo.

“You’re right on what you say friend. The girl is very lucky. What do you think Daphne?” Amy.

“Yeah she’s very lucky to have a boy like you Jaime.” Daphne said smiling just to cover what she was feeling for that moment.

She did not want her to feel that way. She did not want to accommodate her growing feelings for Jaime. Especially since she knew he would not catch her when she fall. She did not want to be hurt a second time around because of love.

So in order to lose her attention for him she just focused her attention on the food she was eating.

Same with the four. They also focused on their food after she spoke.

After they finished their breakfast they decided to go back to their cabin and prepare their selves for the tour. They will all just meet up again on the lobby after they pick up their belongings and get their selves ready.

The shuttle arrived exactly when Daphne was paying the bills for their stay. She just let the three hope first on the shuttle.

After paying and settling down the bill she hope into the shuttle and find a seat where she can sit. She saw her friends sitting in the three sitter seat so she decided to find a vacant seat but destiny is deliberately disturbing her feelings when she realizes that the only available seat was in Jaime side.

She just shaken her head by that knowledge. But she don’t have any choice. So she just went straight to Jaime's place.

“Hi can I join you here? They deliberately set aside me again to teased me.” Pointed her friends.

“Sure. Come on and join me here. Right on time I’m alone.” Jaime said smiling at her.

“Thank you.” She just said and sat down next to him.

On the other side. Jaime was so happy because Daphne was the one who take that seat beside him.

“I suggest you better take a rest. I will just wake you up when we arrive to our destination. It would be a long ride so it was perfect for you to relaxed. I think it will take 2 to 3 hours if travel so might as well have some rest.” Jaime.

“I think so, but how about you? Have you not take a rest to?” Daphne asked.

“I will but maybe later on. I have plenty of sleep yesterday. You can take your nap now.” Jaime said.

“Okay I will certainly take my nap. This is my weakness ridding a shuttle bus. It made me feel dizzy every time I ride to it.” Daphne said while yawning.

“Okay take a rest now. I will just woke you up when we are there.” Jaime said.

“Thank you.” Daphne said before she got her sleep.

After a while Jaime feel the head of Daphne on his shoulder. When he take a glance on her, she’s now peacefully sleeping. He take his chance to watch Daphne’s face this near.

Many will say that she’d beautiful afar, but he must say she’s even more beautiful when you will take a look on her near. Especially now that she is sleeping peacefully, her angelic beauty came out even more. How lucky he was to watch her lovely face this near.

Daphne groaned as he adjusted her position on his shoulder so he could rest more properly. When he adjusted her position Jaime looked at her face again. When he was content to watch her face he decided to take a nap. But before he take his sleep he took her cellphone out and capture their image together. After he satisfied for the result he take his sleep too.

On the other side, Angelo been watching Daphne and Jaime. How he loves how sweet was the gesture of Jaime towards her best friend.

Ever since Daphne and Angelo was a kid they’ve been best of friends. Wherever place any one goes they where together. Every Christmas, New year, summer vacation his family and Daphne’s family where all together go to vacation.

That’s why he was hurt when most of the time people criticize her. Daphne has a characteristic of a strong independent woman and sometimes rugged and even scary. They’ve been misjudging her because of that. Many people know that she was a brat who needs to be pleased on whatever she wants but to those who really know Daphne well, she has the most kindness heart. Yes maybe you can see her strong personality but that is only her way of covering up how fragile she was inside because she’s avoiding herself from pain. She’s different when she’s depress she made a barrier to protect her heart.

Many also misjudge her for being a heartless woman. They say she doesn’t know the word love because lot’s of her suitor has been dumped by her. She maybe sometimes meddling with boys and even flirting but Daphne was NBSB. Yeah you heard it right Daphne is unexperienced on the field of love relationship. Rose knew it but Amy don’t know about this.

Daphne really had a bad experienced about love. And she has a dark past about it. Daphne was being hurt by the one and only boy he love.

Arthur Monasterio, one of their circle of friends when they where in first year college. Daphne and Arthur are both taking up Business Management. Art is one of the heartthrob in their campus way back then. Art was always being sweet towards Daphne, maybe that is the reason why Daphne fell in love with him. Art is smart and kind. Almost perfect because he has also the looks that every girl could drool when he walks. Art’s family has also a company, not as big as del Frado and Riveral company but had the named in the business industry. Art is also kind, sweet, and caring. That is why it is not difficult to love an Arthur Monasterio.

Most of the time Art spoiled Daphne with lots of attention that’s why her love towards Art came deeper. Art started to court Daphne when they where at 2nd year College.

In times of courting Art exert much effort on Daphne. Art made Daphne feel that she’s the only girl in that will get his attention no matter what. After a long way Daphne decided to give her sweetest yes to Arthur on Valentine’s day. Supposed to be Daphne are the one who will surprised Art but it came to be the other way around. Daphne been frozen by what she heard. Art courted her because of their company only. That Art has a girlfriend and that girl was only the girl he would love no matter what.

Daphne always cry everyday for how many months. She’s been depressed because of that situation. So her parents and my parents decided us to study abroad to refresh Daphne’s mind from that. Her first heartbreak led her to become a man of fear. Daphne is known as the cruelest girl not only in the business industry but also in love. But that is only for cover up so that he will never be hurt again. So he made a wall with people who approached and befriended him. He avoids commitments because of that. Many have changed in her return because of her attitude now. So she fears that her best friend will be an old maid because of this. He is much thankful that even though she avoiding Jaime, still she let her enter the barrier she has built for other people entering his life.

Angelo take a glance again to them and smile even wider when he saw Jaime took a photo of them while Daphne was leaning on his shoulder sleeping peacefully.

Angelo couldn’t stop thinking about what Jaime said to them a while ago. By the way how he stares at Daphne he knew that she is the girl his been talking about. The sparks when he take glance to Daphne on their first day on the cruise when they where at the resto. There is no way Angelo graduated as Psychologist and toped their board exam when that simple gestures of Jaime towards Daphne can never be recognized or named by him.
