Outside, Creed started toward the busted door. He needed to know if Vincent was okay.
Jade shot out three thin little blue tentacles that wrapped around Creed's arm. "Quick, we must leave!" She pulled him away.
Creed's eyebrows furrowed. "But Vincent . . . " he whispered.
"I understand," she said, still pulling on Creed. Jade dragged him down to the central walkway, away from the domain. The central walkway was a rectangular shaped metal road. On each side of the road were raised octagon shapes that held trees and tall cylinder-shaped buildings. In between these raised octagons were more roads differing in width.
"Now you know how I felt when you made me leave." Jade voiced bitterly.
Creed jerked, trying to break Jade's hold on him. He gritted his teeth and managed to somewhat loosen her. "Enough," he demanded.
Jade stopped abruptly. "What!"
Creed's anger erupted. His emotions seeped into the atmosphere.
Jade became aware of the tense emotion and released him. When she looked into his glacier ice-blue eyes, she knew it. She exploded, slamming the tentacles back into her body. She could see a moist spot on Creed's long tan over-armor.
Jade's breathing heightened. She jiggled her formless body and took long, deep breaths. She usually would not have gotten angry, but Creed's emotions seem to infect those around him. It was maddening really, she thought, that such a small bit of anger coming from him could make her want to lash out. What exactly causes this, she wondered, while facing the teen before her.
Creed frowned, dropped his hands to his side, and he turned his gaze downcast. "Sorry," he said, his voice shaking. "I forget sometimes what I am capable of."
She sighed and giggled, relaxing her tense form. "We must hurry to the portals." Jade was well aware of how Casalyians express their emotions. However, Creed always seemed to catch her off-guard with his abnormal abilities. She internally sighed and shot a tentacle out of her body to pick up Creed's suitcase, then handed it to him.
Creed nodded in agreement, taking the suitcase. The two of them began to run down the road. Creed held his suitcase in front of him. Jade floated ahead, turning her small floating mass in different directions to look out for trouble.
Vincent studied his work, making sure all the intruders were unconscious. He then stepped over the bodies. His energy ran rampant, creating blue waves that appeared and disappeared from his body. He left the domain to catch up with Creed and Jade, only to meet another Casalyian out on the central walkway.
The stranger sported a top hat, and his wings were a visible golden yellow. His feathers looked stiff and ruffled.
Vincent spread his bluish-white wings to their fullest extent. Their imposing sight showed the excellent care and attention he had always provided for them.
The stranger smirked, revealing sharply pointed teeth.
Vincent narrowed his eyes, suspicious of this Casalyian.
The stranger laughed and bowed mockingly. He took off his hat to Vincent, revealing hair that formed a black and greasy mane.
"Well, if it isn't the great Vincent Angelus, the bloody terror. I am Sizzler Sutra. Or if you prefer, you can call me 'the dog of the council.' "
Vincent's eyes focused on Sizzler's forehead.
"What are you planning?" Sizzler questioned. His eyes widened and he tried to take a step back. "There is no way you know it!"
Vincent's eyes shifted, and he yelled out, "Mind shot!"
Sizzler's eyes became blank, and he started to fall.
Vincent moved quickly to catch him and whispered in his ear, "You do not remember our encounter. In fact, you do not remember your mission. The only thing you remember is that you saw a beautiful blue blob monster known as Jade. She captivated you with her words. Her voice sounded the sweetest ever known to you. You love her."
Vincent carefully laid Sutra down on the ground and then moved on. He smirked to himself, "So the council has their hands in this plot. I hope Jade knows what to do if they send the red eyes after them."
Vincent sighed. He was well aware that his next fight or encounter would either brand him a traitor, murderer, or threat to the council. He closed his eyes knowing the path he had chosen would not be easy, but he had decided a long time ago that Creed, his sibling, was worth it.
Vincent looked around for anything out of the ordinary. He studied the surrounding area, taking in all the details. He took note of the trees and how much they were decaying. It seemed highly unlikely because the trees here are scientifically grown and altered in Casalynn. Vincent turned his attention toward the grass. It was green but turning a crispy brown color. He studied the ground beneath his feet. It shifted like it was an alternate reality. Vincent continued to walk through it.
