Crimson looked up at Gale, confused but completely trusting. A light-as-air feeling of peace, along with a deep blush, decorated her face. She gave Gale a tight squeeze and released him.
He stepped back up into the temple doorway, standing between the huge doors, and held out his hand to Crimson. They turned and strolled into the golden Temple of Salvation together, hand-in-hand. The gauntlet surrounding Sue's hand disappeared. Crimson looked back as if she felt the glove’s good-by.
Sue nodded sadly as the reunion unfolded. A silent understanding developed between them—Crimson, the gauntlet and herself—like friends forever.
The temple floated above Casalynn, then it simply floated to the right and kept on drifting.
Crimson spoke, "Can it be saved?"
"Casalynn, no," Gale replied, frowning. "The race, yes, but it requires you and me."
"How?"
