“Well, at least the humans are quiet,” said Evian.

Lorick shifted his eyes to the side. “Shut up Evian.”

“Is that an order sir,” said Evian.

“Yes.” Lorick raised a hand and pinched the bridge of his nose. His wings shifted to around him, partially covering his front. How was he supposed to explain this?

“Before anyone else fires their weapon and causes a troop of Lorillians to come upon us. The kids now bear the responsibility for the monsters.

The humans glanced between themselves. The volume of sounds varied.

“Let me reiterate, those two have dangerous walking talking creatures for pets,” said Lorick. “If you harm one of the Lorillians their troop will attack you. I may even just let you to your fate if that happens.”

The humans once again started shouting. “Aren’t you supposed to protect us.”

The smoke cloud bellowed out from Sue, covering a good portion of the divided line.
