Chapter 3:Incredibly Ruthless
Sebastian Grissom, dead and resurrected in a new world...it really couldn't be worse for the young man...
I knew of a special kind of genre in Lucien's favorite comics, his childhood friend, which consisted of stories of young people who like him, died and were resurrected in magical worlds by some god to fight a special threat...
Well...the powers or the deep force that was used in that world was something incredible if...that was true...but Sebastian had absolutely no mission or anything that resembled it...he was just there... because if...
If you add to that the fact that in that world force prevailed... it was a situation of total helplessness...
Sebastian didn't even know what country he was in, much less how to farm, and that being a big problem, it was a good thing he met the old man who said he was a librarian.
The old man turned out to be a great source of knowledge, and although at times he seemed to be in a new environment just like Sebastian himself, he was able to help him on many occasions, the first of all having saved him from that creature that almost killed him when he opened his eyes.
The boy did not trust this old man at all, the reason was that he did not understand much because this desire to help him, even more so since no one was looking out for anyone in this world if it were not in the interest of someone strong, for someone even stronger.
However, six months later, Sebastian could only reach one result...the old man felt sorry for him because he looked like someone he knew...just for that...
For him, the body in which he had reacted after having been... expelled from the world he knew... was more than just another one, because it was not the one he had died with, and yet, Zhou Xuzi seemed to recognize him even more than himself... to the point of changing his name...
That night... a few months after being taken under his care, the old man was watching the rain melancholically, as he always did whenever he could... while Sebastian was practicing his calligraphy... when suddenly he spoke, breaking the silence between them...
-Little friend...are you busy?...-I call distractedly...
Sebastian answered immediately.
-What's going on, Elder Xu?...-I ask as I put down my brush...
-I understand that you are in a hurry to learn to read and write...but I was wondering if there wouldn't be problems when you feel independent enough to go to town...
-Why would there be problems?...-I ask confusedly, focusing on the man's straight back.
The old man breathed a long sigh as he seemed to recall ancient times...
-People fear and learn the limits of things they don't know...even foreigners don't have a name like Sebastian Grissom...it would sound...unpleasant to the ears a name like that...
-...is that then everyone would act like a bully in a cowboy town...I question the boy's arched eyebrows...
Zhou Xuzi looked at him a little incredulous before shaking his head...
-Although I don't understand what you mean by that... what I mean is, they will intimidate you if they see you different..." he said as he watched the rain that fell down the shed of his cabin...
Sebastian reasoned and brushed his chin...
-So that's how it is, huh?...wow...I have fallen into a world with the level of social interaction of a high school classroom...the strong one struts around as much as he wants and the weak one must be careful that even his name sounds bad to the strong one...-music while looking at his hands...
During the short time that I had lived with the old man, although no one had appeared in those places looking for him...he got a little better, at least he no longer had the aspect of a terminal patient that he had recognized the first time he looked at himself...
All thanks to the care of Elder Xu...
-What could I do then, Major?...-asked Sebastian, taking up the thread of his previous conversation...
-You should change your name.
A gleam of bewilderment took its place in the youngest man's eyes...
-Change my name?
-I understand that something like that can be unfilial and disrespectful to your parents...but...
-I understand...-I immediately stop the young man while he relieves the old man with a gesture of his hands...
-Do you understand?...-I ask Zhou Xuzi...
The young man sighed and looked at the brush in his hands...
-Yes...in a world where the law of the strongest prevails as you have told me...I really cannot afford to be careless...I must avoid problems as far as possible...and although now I really have no fixed goal...at the moment I leave here...I leave the sentence incomplete, while I focus on the old man with a smile...my parents and I in general come from a place where it does not matter too much if we change our name...
-Then it is like this...-the old man smiled as he stopped looking at the rain...
A silence enveloped them then like a mantle...one that never since it had arrived at that world had been submerged next to its savior...
-Hohoho...-the hasty laughter of the man in white robes soon eliminated the silence...then...if that is so...let me say that in this world, a proper name is very important...for example...because of your history...I think...the best name for you...would be Tian Shuangmen...
Sebastian frowned, as he began to look at the calligraphy sheets in which he had already been working for several days with the writing and reading of that world...
-According to this... my name... would mean...
-He born of the double door...-Musician Zhou Xuzi while lighting his pipe and focusing the boy inside the hut-...perfect for you, because you were born twice, crossing the door that is not a door...
-I am afraid I do not understand your metaphors old man Xu...but I like the name...-the boy resolved as he continued to write-...from this moment on...my name will be Tian Shuangmen...
And saying this Sebastian wrote his new name with quick strokes on a paper...showing his writing to old Xu with a smile...
That night, even later, it would resonate in the young man's head occasionally...even while he was doing the only task the old man had given him...
It turned out that Zhou Xuzi was a great doctor...or at least that is what Tian Shuangmen thought...because the old man asked him to periodically go to a nearby mountain to look for herbs, whole plants and sometimes even pieces of wood...
The medicine that Sebastian knew in this world did not exist, it was only limited to know what schools, sects or even clans, taught around the world, to go to them or themselves to travel through the nearby villages ... and was based on the treatment of the body by acupuncture or the use of medicinal plants ...
Over time, the young man discovered that the smell in the hut often came from the pills and filters or elixirs that the old man Xu produced to sell in the nearby village...which was about 7 kilometers away from where they were...
In summary, Tian Shuangmen often left the hut to look for medicinal plants, accompanied by a list of samples attached... Elder Xu exploited the particular sense of smell that he demonstrated...
As a result, the boy soon became the old man's errand boy, both bringing him herbs and then delivering the products to the villages and selling them to the apothecary.
In this way and thanks to the different relationships he had with the people... Sebastian was able to learn several things...
At first, I managed to discover the cabin was located just a few meters from a dirt road that led to a small town, called the City of Emerald Sunset .
By the time I ask why it was called this, it was because this town was literally the last town in the country where they were, called the Divine Purple Ray Empire... which was a relatively young kingdom, because it was barely 300 years old...
Ignoring the strange names, Sebastian learned how to deal with the people, who usually, as Elder Xu said, did not care about a little cultivator of the Opening Kingdom level 3 like him.
As far as deep strength is concerned, he saw from afar how people with a higher cultivation base than the others were really grotesque strutting around... because he with such a small power compared to the others, could not really match up...
The most embarrassing thing for him was to see how the only people who had the same power as him were only the younger children who went out with their tutors from time to time...as far as young people of his age were concerned, they had all passed the realm of openness or at least they didn't go below the eighth level...and even though the strongest grower he could see were only people a little above the fifth level of the Kingdom of the Boom. .and they couldn't compare to Zhou Xuzi...they still had the capacity to kill him many times...so, Tian Shuangmen decided that while he was in the city or among many people, he would hide his little power, and pretend to be a man with no power, thanks to a little trick that the old man taught him...
And although this could work perfectly, the truth that Sebastian did not know was that nobody messed with him since many growers assumed that Zhou Xuzi, who was apparently a formidable grower in the rotating core, was the renowned master of that piece of junk...
Even if they had ten times more guts, no one in that small town wanted to mess with someone like Old Man Xu...
This is why Sebastian was able to get into a routine without much trouble, since practically everyone ignored him...it was not difficult for him to leave the hut, pick up ingredients and then take what the old man was doing to the village where they would sell it and back...
-Really... this new life thing doesn't seem to me to be the most useful thing I could have done, I have practically nothing to do..." he said as he held a stalk of grass called Rio Amargo and held it close to his nose... before throwing it in a basket...
The sky above his head had few or no clouds at all, and thanks to this he could appreciate that the above were the last lights of the day... and as he was outdoors, Tian Shuangmen strongly inhaled the clean oxygen that surrounded him, taking advantage of its purity and freshness...
Sharpening his ear, he almost laughed when he noticed how there was no noise around...
He might not be interested in deep strength, but Zhou Xuzi would not allow him to go even into the forest without teaching him a trick or two to escape in case he was ambushed by a deep beast...like in the beginning when they met. So, Tian Shuangmen or Sebastian used what little power he had to concentrate on his ears and eyes...amplifying his senses about 5 times more than normal...so that in case a beast was stalking him he would have the time to flee...
Sebastian could not but be grateful to the old man, who protected him even though he had no responsibility, and yet nothing generated more frustration than depending so much on the good man.
He knew that someone as illustrious as him would sooner or later abandon him...and he could not help but wait imminently and anxiously for that day...but until then...Sebastian would do his best to help the old man who had been so good to him...
-It seems to be getting dark...-Music as I saw the sky getting darker and darker-...it seems that winter is getting closer and closer...six months have passed since that day...
Tian Shuangmen took the basket on his back and tightened the straps on his body, he started to walk down the slope...descending from the mountain where he had been...
Boy, did he miss his loved ones from the old world...and being in this place so ruthless now...no doubt it would make him cry if it wasn't him...but...the only reason he refused to do it was because of good old Zhou Xuzi...that man was older than him and maybe even older than he looks...but still, he was strong, respected and had the freedom to do what he wanted...
In the boy's opinion and ignoring the rare interest he had in his person...that man was worthy of respect and admiration...
How could he cry like a little child about being in such an environment when he clearly had the answer in front of him that he could live there?
How could he be so undignified and allow himself to go into crisis in front of a man like that?
Sebastian allowed himself to laugh at this point.
Elder Xu could be considered his teacher...he had helped him...he had taken care of him and also protected him...
Even if he did not know why he was so kind... it was sure that everything was triggered by his resemblance to someone very dear to him... maybe his son or his grandson... in any case, another question that haunted his head was where would the old man have come from...
The few villagers he talked to were really surprised to see that old Xu had a disciple like him...partly because he was garbage at his level of cultivation and partly because this man was very mysterious...
From what he was told...Elder Xu had appeared a little more than 5 years ago in that village and was a formidable cultivator and a good doctor...at least enough to make high quality pills and elixirs...
No one wanted to inquire too much into the life of a rotary core grower...it was too dangerous...however, he didn't ask either...because he felt that it was opening an old wound in the heart of that old man...
Arriving here, Tian Shuangmen interrupted his thoughts and licked his lips before looking up, staring at the nearest trees...focusing on two abnormally black crows...
He had been thinking so much about the kindness of the old man...that he had not felt that those crows had been following him closely from branch to branch!
An insistent fear crept into his heart...at the same time he had a bad feeling the more he looked at his dark plumage...
He could almost feel a look of mockery from both animals, before his whole neck turned abruptly towards the road.
There was still a stretch to go to the cabin, far from the road...and yet, in these six months that he had spent with the old man, and that was that at this hour, the medicinal aroma that the old man's making of pills was causing could be felt from even farther away from the house!
Something had happened!
With a tingling shiver of terror, Tian Shuangmen gave one last look at the animals and made to run down the dirt road ... at full speed of his legs!
A part of his heart felt like making fun of himself...there was no way he could hurt the old man!...maybe he had fallen asleep (although he never saw him do it) and that is why he had not made medicine today!
And even if he was in danger, what could he do?...a poor man open to help a rotary core grower?...
But, weighing much more than her, the other part of him ignored her emerging thoughts and rushed even more to the hut...more anguished than anything else...
He soon had her in his sights...she was not very big but wide enough to allow him to live comfortably until this time without problems...
Strangely, this did nothing but increase his fears!...there was not a single light or smoke coming from the small strip on his roof!...the door was open and the entrance looked like a wolf's mouth from the darkness inside!
Rejecting the blow that attacked his ribs, Tian Shuangmen practically jumped the small step where the old man used to smoke and landed inside the cabin...
Nothing...there was no light, no heat, no typical medicinal smell that was always in the house...and what filled his heart with fear was the metallic and sweet aroma that persisted in the environment.... which reminded him of a time when an animal was slaughtered in his childhood...
That fog squeezed his heart...
-A-Ancient Xu...-he called in the dark as he groped in the dark...he is there...old Xu!...
No one answered him, and even after his eyes got used to the dark, he did not find it...until he surrounded the small table where he used to practice his calligraphy...
Lying and immobile, Zhou Xuzi...the man who had helped him, protected and cared for him...was already on the ground, dead...
-OLD MAN XU!...
On his chest and deeply embedded, there was a sword somewhat thin, even thin compared to the weapons he had seen from other cultivators, but incomparably luxurious because of the various patterns of curled up dragons he possessed...even in the blade that went into the flesh of Elder Xu...
The blood was still warm and stained the old man's pure white clothes by the score...
-How...how is it possible...?...-I ask astonished...Mr...Elder Xu...please wake up...
And while I was saying that I try to shake him up a little... without getting an answer obviously...
-Zhou...Xuzi...you are a grower...a grower in the Deep Kingdom of the Spinning Nucleus...how is it possible...that you died..." Sebastian asked in the air as he felt his voice shaking and his eyes getting wet...
No one but the old man who was lying on the ground had been the one who saved him when he was about to die...and no one but him showed him some kindness...even later when he visited the village for the first time!
It was not fair that a good man should die like that...
-...-a voice behind his back commented that criminals fall down to escape...
While Tian Shuangmen was holding the body of the light Elder Xu, suddenly, the sensation of having a huge mountain behind him hit his being... making him open his eyes in fear...
Those few words had been said in a calm tone...and yet they seemed as heavy as a death sentence...even if they had not been said to him...
They seemed somehow similar to the words that Elder Xu mentioned to Cephirah some time ago, yet they seemed totally different at the same time....
There was an overwhelming feeling in the person behind him...that he could only turn his head with a tyrannical effort after a long time...
Trembling from where he was...Tian Shuangmen focused on a young man...with short hair and a thin jaw...
His lips looked a little pale, barely distinguishable from his skin, which was almost nivex in tone...
His eyes were dark and cast a mocking light as they focused on the boy in front of him...
-Tian Bei Ai..." he asked with a short laugh as he hid it behind his wide golden sleeve with its embroidered patterns... "It is not possible that you have survived that day in the sacred territory of the south!
But, far from attending to the man standing behind him, Sebastian only angrily focused on the old man's killer as he stood up...
-I don't know who you're confusing me with...!...but I swear!...for whatever else you want I will make you pay for what you did to old Xu!...-choleric blaze as he took a step forward...
However, in spite of that, the mysterious man in front of him only frowned a little...
Immediately everyone around him seemed fragile and weak compared to him... and even the majestic pressure that Tian Shuangmen remembered from Zhou Xuzi seemed insignificant in front of the slight aura that filtered from his body...
The whole being of the angry young man suddenly seemed to weigh a billion kilos and even his breathing became incomparably heavier, just by being in front of this man...
-And you didn't..." the man completed as he continued his previous dialogue... "It is incredible that someone from the lower lands like you has such a resemblance to him... what is your name, little friend?
He used the same name as the kind old man, and yet it sounded extremely laughable in comparison to the friendly name of the old man.
-M-my...name...is...Tian...Shuangmen...-I reach out to say Sebastian as I struggle to articulate the word...
-What a curious name...it is the good karma of this prince to be able to assassinate twice the infamous Tian Bei Ai, his grandfather and even his reincarnation!...don't you think so?...Fu!...Wu!...
While he could hardly process the new pieces of information, the young man saw from his anchored position how the crows he had seen before landed on the sinister man's back and croaked twice, before folding his wings and transforming into two women...
Both had a somber aura and would be beautiful were it not for murderous desire and the heavy thirst for blood that they continually exhaled from their entire body sheathed in a heavy layer of crow's feathers...
-No doubt... heaven is watching over her highness...!....-one cries out with a perfidious smile-... to think that we would be able to feel that miserable sliver of deep strength just as we wandered through the lower lands...
-Although it is a pity for the old dog Zhou to end up like this, after more than 3000 years of running and hiding... it can only be considered merciful that you finally gave him rest my lord...
Sebastian for his part, felt how helpless he was...these people were too strong and cruel...and he could not even move!
In scale it is as if he was an insect on the hand of a giant!...there was the implicit message in the air that these people could kill him with a thought if they wanted to!...it was even more humiliating for him than when he was whipped by Cephirah!...
-...you should...you should feel...because it is obvious.... that if there were not three of you...you could never have killed old Xu!...-bramo Tian Shuangmen while with all his will power he looked into the eyes of the mysterious man...
-Hoooo?...-music with intrigue...a simple openness resisting the most superficial layer of my aura...it's incredible...and besides...you may not be Tian Bei Ai...but there is something in your eyes that reminds me a lot of him...
-I could...be-because I hate you?!...-I ask Tian Shuangmen without tolerating any more the complacency that shone in the eyes of those individuals-...you...and your companions...killed a good and honorable man!...
-Good?!...
-Honorable?! ....
Both women bellowed at the end of their words in such a hostile and furious way that the temperature immediately dropped several degrees, making the boy feel that an icy hell had fallen around him!
They would have jumped on him to destroy him, he would have thought, however, the funny light that shone in the eyes of the man in charge accompanied by his gesture in the air prevented it from happening...
-It is true that we intended to hunt down...well...your master...but to the surprise of this prince...the old man Xu...gave me his life voluntarily...
-What are you saying?!...-asked Sebastian in a daze...
-My friend...I am telling the truth in this matter...otherwise...do you think that this little star would continue in its place if he and the three of us had given free rein to our strength...-I ask with sorrow-...he felt that he had nowhere else to go and instead of cutting this little world in half...he decided to sacrifice himself bravely...
-It doesn't make sense!...it doesn't make sense!...old Xu...he was very strong...
-although he lied to you about his farming base...it's true that he was strong...he was too strong...just like a criminal who fled his kingdom and hid in this pathetic plane...-he said with self-contained hatred... ...for more than three thousand years my clan hunted him for the five sacred territories!...who could have imagined that the Sage of Heaven!...Zhou Xuzi!...the legendary librarian of the Star Library would hide in a place like this!...serving people like you!...how disappointing!...
The guy in front of him also seemed to have lost his composure...but not as much as Sebastian, who after a while, focused on the man lying in a sticky pool of his own blood...questioning for the first time who he had been with all this time...
However, that did not last long... since he remembered Zhou Xuzi... to the old man Xu... a kind man who without any obligation had decided to help him... even because of his resemblance to his grandson or whoever... he did not deserve to be killed that way... as if he were a simple dog...
-Anyway...even though I more than anyone else wanted to leave this low and dirty place...there is something we still haven't been able to find...-the man continued while extending his hand...
Immediately, the blade stuck in Zhou Xuzi's chest, shook and flew back to the man's hand...
-Where is the beast...?" he asked coldly.
It was when Tian Shuangmen's eyes rose from the ground and asking the old man's soul to forgive him for doubting him, he accumulated saliva in his mouth and spat at the man's feet...
-I don't know what you are talking about...son of a bitch...but even if I knew...I wouldn't tell you anything!...I bawled while panting and smiling grimly...I already died once...what difference does it make if it was two or three?...I had nothing better to do anyway!...
A wild smile appeared in the man's mouth as he showed each and every one of his pearly teeth...!
-Ahhh...those eyes and words....really remind me of Tian Bei Ai...-musito before gently waving the sword!:.
Immediately and subtly, all the pressure that was collapsing down the boy's body dissipated in the air before a colossal force rammed Sebastian and sent him flying against the wall in the background!
His body twisted in the air and went through even more distance at the speed of sound!
Soon, as I watched the boy's body disappear into the distance and into the trees without even shouting... the mysterious man, standing on the new and shattered threshold he had armed with a little energy, sheathed his sword as he sighed...
-Your Highness... you know that... we are not allowed to kill people from the lower lands..." said one of the women...
The prince just rubbed the bridge of his nose...
-Of course I know that...-simple answer-...why do you think I hit him so carefully?
Before the man's disdainful smile and the woman's surprised grimace...the other one negotiated with his head...
-He infused deep energy into that simple intention of a sword and when he hit it...he made sure that its force would impregnate the boy's organs...-slow slowly-...the blow would not kill him, however, the pungent energy of his force would stab the organs periodically and in a few days he would be dead...
And while this was deducing the girl, the prince focused with lust on his assistant...
-In three to be exact...-he commented while shaking his head-...I could have given him a quick death...but he was the one who insisted in keeping quiet and in a bad way...he really can't blame me for doing this...after all, by the time he dies...we will already be very far away from here...
Saying this the man turned around.
-Zhou Xuzi is dead...his grandson and even his disciple apparently also ..... This closes the circles of hope of the Zhou clan!
-My lord...before we leave...are you sure you don't want to make sure of that piece of junk...-asked one of the assistants....
The prince stopped for a moment, before continuing to walk quietly...
-No...let him suffer the purest agony could be taken as my payment for having spat out my kindness...let him suffer three moons!
