Richard growled. I took a step forward. 


I was ready for something like this to happen. I knew Evelyn wasn't weak, but she wasn't enough either. Her powers had a limitation here that they feared darkness. It wasn't in her. It was in her powers, the reason she was super sensitive. 


The clouds above our heads swirled and faded away. They disappeared. 


I, without the help of Leo, tried to wake up Rose again. But before I could help it, I was blown away by a hard punch on my face. Thrown back to the ground, I waited for the impact. I was insanely tired, both physically and mentally. I thought of mending myself a bit until the collision would occur. 


I waited with my eyes closed, but someone wrapped their arms around my torso and saved me. I opened my eyes. 


His blue eyes held so much intensity in them that it made me gulp. Leo pulled me closer. Bowing down, he didn't give a second moment and kissed me.
