Chapter 37

The journey up the steep cliff had left me physically and emotionally drained. My heart pounded loudly in my ears as I reached the top, my eyes widening at the sight that greeted me.

Before me stood a massive, imposing structure carved into the side of the rocky mountain. It was the scientists' lair - a place of darkness and unspeakable horrors.

I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what lay ahead. Inside those walls, the ones responsible for so much pain and suffering awaited their fate. I couldn't turn back now; there was too much at stake.

With every step I took, my resolve grew stronger. The amulet of truth glowed brightly, leading me deeper into the lair. The air inside was heavy with an oppressive silence, broken only by the occasional drip of water.

As I ventured further, I couldn't help but think of Cole and Anna. I prayed that they were safe and that I would find them unharmed.
