Mary's First Vision Brings Fear

"Here's another thing, she will attend the inauguration of Lady Selena in the freaking Oriphiel Shrine! Can you imagine that? That woman was really living her dream" Circe half screamed.

Seira put her index finger to her lips, signaling her to keep her tone down "Shhhhh"

She understood what Circe was feeling right now as she long dreamed to catch sight of the sacred place made for all the royalties of the existing kingdoms in the world. Well, everyone dreamed of that aside from her. Her only ambition was to live far away from anything or place related to nobles and royalties.

"Sorry. It is just that I feel a little jealous of her since that news came to my knowledge. You know how long I dreamed of catching a small glimpse of that place. It is where royalties received their official bestowment as leaders. They said that place is so magical and out of this world. The place even rejects any wrong coronation" Circe laughed, earning a small push from Seira.

"Your voice was too loud"

"Sorry Ms. Maelony" Circe teasingly replied. She stood up; laughing and sticking out her tongue.

"You really—"

Seira got up and was about to smack Circe but the latter ran away from her "Come back here" she half yelled, careful to make a noise.

"See you later" Circe winked at her before disappearing.

Sighing, she got back on her seat. The sunrays glistened her face. Her mind drifts to what Circe stated. She put her chin on the top rail of her chair; staring at the blue and bright sky outside her window "Oriphiel Shrine" she mumbled, feeling slightly intrigued upon hearing the place again.

….

"Okay," Seira muttered in relief when she successfully put the last book on the Fiction Section for the day. It's already 3:30 in the afternoon. She goes down the movable wooden stairs gradually that almost reaches the ceiling. Even though she has been doing the same thing for a long time, she always became nervous about going up and down from the material. Height is one of her weaknesses.

She glanced at her feet before noticing the orange light that was creeping through the windows. What time is it? She walked towards the window. The orange-gold stretches far and wide in the sky.

"It's time to leave" she mumbled and turned to her compartment to gather her things. Mary was in the school center probably playing with other kids right now.

She was putting her things inside her bag when two girls chatting passed her table.

"Did you see the royal guard roaming in the Parton Station?"

"Ah, the man asking for certain woman"

"Yeah, he's quite a nice looking man right? I wonder who's that girl he is aking"

"Maybe a wanted person?" said one of the girls while giggling before moving past her section.

She clutched the strap of her bag. Her hands were shaking. She tried to reach for the book she borrowed for Mary when she accidentally hit the stacks of books in her table. The pile of books fell and scattered on the floor. She bent down to pick the books when she saw a newspaper stuck on one of the books. She took out the paper and curiously scanned the printed material.

LADY TO A PRINCESS REAL FAST!

THE INAUGURATION OF LADY SELENA MORTHAM FOR BEING THE PRINCESS OF THE MOST POWERFUL KINGDOM IS HAPPENING SOON!

Before she could take a glimpse of the picture below the bold letters a strict voice called her.

"Seira, aren't you going to leave? I will close the athenaeum a little early today"

She glanced up and frowning Mrs. Maelony was standing in front of her.

"Oh really, I'm sorry. I was about to leave"

She put down the newspaper on her table and took her bag. "Goodbye Mrs. Maelony" she waved to the old woman then immediately turned away.

The moment she closed the door of the hall, the sound of a handheld brass bell echoed through the air. She tottered down to the laid path towards the school center. Groups of children sprint outside and head to their parents. She put a small smile on her face and suppressed her trembling when she spotted Mary running alongside her classmates towards her.

When they reached their house, Seira took a bath for a while to calm her nerves as throughout the ride to their home earlier, the conversation of the two girls in the library kept playing on her mind.

As soon as she got down, she started cooking for dinner. She decided to settle for potatoes with cheese and bacon. After putting the dishes on the table, she ascended to her room to wake Mary who was probably asleep. It is her habit after taking a bath, to sleep for a while and not mingle with other children in their town. Mary chose to play with the kids in Darthill Village and stayed aloof to the children in their town that she chose to stay in her room and read there. She cannot blame the child though, the children in their town mostly bullied her. If she is going to choose, she will not also let Mary play with them.

She gently shake Mary to wake her up "Mary, Mary it's time for dinner, I cooked your favorite—"

Mary suddenly jerked up, crying and soaking in sweats. The child tightly hugged Seira; putting her face on her shoulders, "Seira" Mary called between her sobs.

"What's wrong? Are you hurt somewhere?" Seira frantically asked, panic surged through her when she didn't receive any response.

"No. I have a vision Seira"

"Really? You have?"

She was amazed that Mary had a vision at her age. Normally, Seers start to have a vision when they are sixteen years old and above.

"What is it?" She lifted Mary to her lap.

"It is bad, very bad Seira" Mary mumbled in her shoulders.

Fear fluttered in her stomach. Blood is the first thing she pictured upon hearing what Mary said. Visions are important events that will happen that should not be ignored. But the only problem was it doesn't give any exact details of when or where it will happen. And that's what she fears the most. If it is about someone, how could she help if she has no idea where that person is? And if…. If only it has something to do with her or with them, what will she do?.

With a pounding heart, she asked Mary "Wh—what is your vision"

Mary began to cry loudly. She stroked her hair and said, "Shhh…. It's okay if you don't want to tell me—"

"You are lying on the ground with blood all over your face and body. Your white hair was stained with blood" Mary cried out, cutting her off.

She became stiff in an instant. Cold sweats beads in her forehead. Her hands became cold.

"I—it's okay" she shakily said "Nothing will happen to me, I promise that"

She showed her pinky finger to Mary. With her chest heaving, Mary put her pinky finger to her.

"Don't ever break your promise okay?"

Seira did her best to smile "I won't"

"Let's eat, we don't want your favorite meal to be cold don't we?" She tried to lighten the mood but she was trembling inside.

Mary nodded while hiccupping and wiping her tears.
