Von Stein Mansion

Von Stein Mansion (located on the east of Arcadis)

"What have you got?" Kyrian asked, lighting the bowl of the tobacco pipe that was shaped as a dragon embellished in black and white diamonds. A bejeweled serpent was carved in an exclusive piece of red jade alongside two pieces of intricate tiger eye stone. It is his five time filling up the bowl of the pipe of the specially made tobacco for him. He hasn't gotten much sleep because his mind is preoccupied with a lot of things.

"It is what you thought, the Belgravia Coven was still not signing the papers. They still hold on to their credence that putting someone who was not the chosen on the throne is a transgression" Theron leaned against the black painted wall. He watched Kyrian, who was lost in deep thought, his jaw jut forward slightly and his lips tighten.

Kyrian was considered the most handsome man in the Adeosian Kingdom; even the women in other kingdoms were attracted to him but he never paid attention to other girls, not even once. His eyes are solely for Selena. They have been searching and waiting for a long time for the chosen of the throne but there was no lead or any improvement in searching the destined until the Parliament and the Royal Family decided to appoint the older daughter of the Mortham Clan—Selena. The woman was powerful and will be a great queen but the Belgravia Coven was so firm to their belief.

He really didn't understand the logic of those white mages.

"What will you do?" Theron asked, snapping Kyrian in his trance.

Theron had been Kyrian's friend his entire life, the one person he could turn to. Kyrian might never admit it out loud but the pal was the one he trusted the most out of his circle of friends.

"Nothing, their standpoint was not of great significance in the inauguration. The Parliament had already decided" Kyrian replied with the same cold indifference.

"Another thing, it is true that the sacred necklace was stolen four days ago in Herstings but the Mortham claimed that they already found it"

Kyrian didn't respond. He puffs out the fumes of his tobacco and stands up without sparing his friend a glance. He took out a suit from his closet that was heavily embroidered with gold linings on the neckline and at the lower edge of the sleeve then walked straight to the door while wearing the cloth.

He hadn't gotten much sleep because his mind was preoccupied with his lover—Selena. The woman was not answering his calls and it was unusual of her to do that unless something was happening behind his back that he was not aware of. And like what he predicted, it had something to do with the inauguration. The red diamond necklace was an insignia that the royal family and the kingdom supported her.

"You're welcome," Theron jokes.

Kyrian ignored his friend and left the room.

Theron sighed once he heard the fading retreating footsteps of Kyrian. He then glanced around the room. It was painted in plain black color. There is no furniture other than the broken nightstand that has the same color as the walls. Pillows, blankets, broken bottles of wine, ashes of tobacco were scattered on the floor and a metallic brown rotary dial telephone was split in half. The room was also stung by rancid smoke. He put his hands in the pocket of his pants then left the room while shaking his head.

"What are the two of you talking about? What is this necklace?"

Theron turned to his left and saw Califa wearing red undergarments only. "I don't know," he shrugged.

"How would you not know? Are you kidding me?" Califa shouted, not buying the excuse of Theron.

A man with black, messy hair; a scar on his left eyebrow; strongly and solidly built, straining on his black suit was intently looking at the two. He has a ring piercing on the septum of his nose. The silver necklace he had, shimmering to the sun rays, appeared on one of the hallways; leaning on the wall.

"I also want to raise a question, Theron. Is it true that Selena brought the necklace outside the capital? I was really curious because if it is true, it is an interesting gossip" the man reckoned; eating lollies.

Theron glanced at his right; raised a brow.

"Caedmon what are you doing here?" Califa intervenes, surprised at the sudden visit of the man. The only son of the Chief of the Parliament and currently Head of the Denholm Clan—Caedmon Denholm.

"I thought Cadence would be here but I guess she's not, that girl had gotten good at hiding" Caedmon chuckled; facing Theron "So, is it true?"

"It's out of our business but if you want to interfere, ask Kyrian yourself"

Califa pursed his lip and looked away from the serious eyes of Theron. No one in their right mind would do that nor try to meddle with his business.

"I don't want to interfere with anything, I am just satisfying my curiosity but…. " Caedmon tucked his hands to his pants and smirk "your defensive reaction just answer my question, Theron" he laughed; waving his hand "See you around"

Theron clenched his jaw. He never really liked the behavior and easy-going personality of the man. He always gets on his nerves. Sighing, he glanced at Califa who was quiet at the side before taking his leave.

"Wake up the others and leave this place in 30 minutes"

Everyone knows Kyrian Azrael Nathrezim, the crowned prince of the Adeosian Kingdom. A dangerous, painstakingly vigilant, cold, calculating, unforgiving man, and ruthless.

People called him 'The Prince of Death' because of his power but he thinks that it was mostly from his perilous and menacing aura.

But Kyrian, being silently whip-smart and perspicacious, is one thing Theron finds disturbing apart from his power. Kyrian could read along the lines, think, and analyze the situation beforehand. That's why he was not surprised when he found out that the Belgravia Kingdom was the one who was spreading a petition to stop the inauguration and the incident with the sacred necklace.

If it spreads outside the palace and comes to the knowledge of the former Queen of Adeosian Kingdom, there will be a big ruckus again.

Well, if it happened to him, he would surely first ask about Kyrian but Selena didn't do it. He shrugged, that woman was capable of handling herself after all.

But what's odd was Caedmon already knew about the incident.

He glanced at the stairs "What a nosy man"

Theron walked to the hallway that led to his room when an owl passed by on the opened window. His eyebrows knitted, following the owl as white as snow with gold marks on his feet. The bird didn't leave the Hall of Oratories and was too detached from other people aside from the former queen of the Adeosian Kingdom—Queen Radella Demelza Nathrezim. The bird was like the guardian of the hall.

"What on earth is that bird doing outside the palace?" He mumbled.
