"Martin!" Seira half yelled when she saw Martin in the kitchen. It was already 7:45, she needed to pick up the dinner of the almighty prince.
Martin checks the dishes in the tray before handing it over to Seira "What is it?"
"Where did you go at 3 o'clock? The prince wanted a coffee"
"Oh right! I'm dead. Is he angry? What did he say? When will I be flogged?!" Martin hysterically said, gathering attention from the other kitchen staff.
"Breath Martin. No one will be dying cause made the coffee myself"
"Then it will be more reason for me to be worried! We will both be flogging early in the morning!"
"No, no, the prince didn't get angry. He even said that I will make his coffee from now on, which sounds good to me?" Seira said reluctantly. Because of the hysterical reaction of Martin, now she was not sure if she was saved for the day.
A surprised reaction made it to Martin's face "Really? Wow, then you made his coffee perfectly"
"Did I?"
"Yes, I and Mr. Orsova can't make the coffee the prince wanted but he still asks and drinks it. Hearing that someone actually made the coffee the prince wanted like how the late queen was really a good and comforting news" A sad smile was plastered on Martin's face.
"What do you mean like the late queen?"
"The coffee the prince wanted was like the taste of the coffee Queen Evanore made. Mr. Orsova once told me that the prince drank a sip of the queen's coffee once and he loved it. Then the queen made a promise to make some for him when he became an adult but….. " Martin paused and seem to be in deep thought " the queen died before the prince can actually drink coffee"
Seira was left speechless after hearing the long remark of Martin "Oh" is all she managed to say until she left and stood in front of the door of the prince's office.
With a deep sigh that seems now to be her habit before meeting the prince, she opened the door.
"Here's your dinner, where do you perhaps want me to put this?"
"Put it on that table, I will eat it later" Kyrian ordered, still fixated on the paper he was holding.
Seira nodded; sauntering to the table in the middle of the couch. She bowed before taking her leave to the kitchen again to have dinner.
The two tables of the small room in the kitchen for servants were already full. The male servants were scheduled at 7 while they were 8.
"Seira!" Lana shouted at a distance; waving her hand.
She smiled, walking to their way. Finally! She can finally act normal compared to her highly strung, tense self a while ago. Anyone would surely feel that way when they are in the same room with that prince.
A never-ending soup and bread with a glass of water was placed in her usual spot. It had been their food since day 1. It's still better than staying in the same room with that crazy prince, seriously.
"Are you finished working in the field?" she asked Almira who was beside her while eating her soup.
"No, we will still work on that tomorrow" Almira replied, munching her bread that made Bella, Lana and her laugh.
"You look like a duck" Lana beamed laughing loudly; putting her head to Bella.
All of a sudden two girls came to her; smiling from ear to ear. She reluctantly smiled, "Hi?"
"You're the personal servant of the prince right? What does he look like? We are stationed in the laundry area and we didn't take a glimpse of the prince's face" one of the women exclaimed, fanning herself.
"What does he look like? Huh? I mean the rumors said that he was really handsome" the other woman reckoned; looking at her with pleading eyes.
A pressure to answer was building at her "Uhm….. His—"
Women huddled up to her with the same expression as the first two girls made her fake coughed "He's handsome" she gripped the spoon. She swore to never acknowledge the beauty of that man to others but here she was, saying and using the sacred word to describe the man. What a day she had. That man almost gave her a heart attack earlier! More like going to kill her.
"Can you describe more?" One of the women in the crowd said that made the other woman yell their opinion.
All she wanted was to eat in peace! Forgetting that darned prince! Goodness.
"Uhm….. " Seira tried to recall Kyrian's face "He had a perfectly structured face, pointed nose, natural red lips…….fair skin….fair skin and uh…. beautiful blue eyes" she said lastly.
"Oh my gosh!"
"He was like the leading man I usually read in the book back in my town!"
"I wish I could meet him!"
The excited and happy cheered of the women huddled in her along with the women who's seated at the tables, rented the room. Others were shaking her shoulders and clapping near her ears.
A woman behind her suddenly grabbed her wrist where the black markings curled around her wrist like a bracelet was located. She tried to pull out her right hand but the woman's grip was surprisingly strong.
"Oh my gosh, look at her hands! It is like what the rumors said, a personal servant of the prince receives a sign of possession!"
The women screamed again, jumping and giggling. Seira looked at them curiously; brows crumpled together "Sign of possession?"
The woman turned to her with raised brows. "Don't tell me you didn't hear of this?"
She shook her head that made the woman blinked several times.
"Really? Okay, listen carefully Miss. This black mark symbolizes that you're a personal servant of the prince, a proof that whatever you ask or do, you will be accommodated first. This mark is basically your tag, you're lucky" the woman smiled at her.
"I am not lucky, I can only use this to make his orders to be done" Seira countered, displeasure was in her tone.
"Nope, you are because it means that if you did something wrong, only the prince can punish you. The prince was known for his strong ownership to the things and people belong to him"
"You're basically higher than us if we're going to rank ourselves" added the other.
"Wow, you're really lucky" said one of some in the crowd.
Exclaimes of her being lucky, wishing to be her, and her living their dreams came from the crowd of women huddling around her. Bella even laughed and joined the circle. If only they knew what it meant to be his servant. Oh please, she was willing to clean the whole palace garden in exchange for her current situation.
"Can't you leave her alone, she's eating!" The loud and annoyed voice of Lana made the women stop and her twitch from surprise.
"Seems like you have a friend who's jealous" one of the women muttered before going back to their seats.
"Woah, what was that?" Bella with creased eyebrows asked "You don't need to yell at them, Lana they're just excited to talk about the prince and everyone was like that. Even you just a while ago—"
"I'm sorry, okay? It's just…. Seira looks uncomfortable talking about the prince" Lana countered, pointing at her.
"Oh, uhm… yeah, I'm a bit uncomfortable—"
"See, she doesn't want to work with the prince so much as talk about him," Lana said while shaking her head.
Bella shrugged while Almira was quietly listening to the three. Seira scooped another spoon of soup, noticing the sudden change of atmosphere in their table; hiding her right arm "Is there someone who was staying in the east wing?" She asked Bella to change the conversation.
"Yes there is one"
"Really?" Seira and Almira said simultaneously that made Bella chuckled.
"The King resides there"
"Woah" the two exclaimed once again until they burst out laughing with Lana joining them who's also staring at Seira's arm.
