He was not Mrs. Maelony or Mary for you to put on a coat!

"Seira!"

Seira turned around and saw Bella walking towards her with a box in her hand. Her brows creased. Yesterday, Bella gave her a box, and now… again.

"Another one?" she muttered, taking the box from Bella.

"It's the letters of demands, thanks, complaints, and whatnot," Bella shrugged.

"Does the prince handle this also?" her voice sounds dubious.

"Yes, the prince read them personally"

"Oh," she replied, still surprised.

"I am aware of the prince's reputation. He was said to be ruthless and cold but he was a good leader even better to his father" Bella responded before walking away "I gotta go"

Seira smiled and waved while balancing the box. She then strode to the office of the prince. After knocking three times, she entered. As usual, the almighty prince was still at his desk with papers. Just how many reports does this man do?

She put the box on the chair in front of the desk. Glancing to her left, she saw the meals on the desk that barely touched. She pressed her lips; collecting the dishes and setting them down in the tray.

Seira climbs down with the tray for dinner once again. As soon as she put down the tray, she stood up near the door. She stares at the man leaning back on the chair with paper that looks like a letter to her. The box she brought earlier was on his desk and opened. She didn't like the prince but as a servant of him, she found his weary eyes and the meals she brought not being touched distressing. He looks very tired. Her conscience was beating her since yesterday to offer help and to make up for her mistake the other day. She felt blameworthy, knowing that the papers were stained because of her. His wounded hand adds up to her guilt. She didn't know but she felt that the hand had something to do with it. 'Talk about assuming, Seira' she thought.

Sighing; clutching her hand, she opened her mouth "Permission to speak, Your Highness"

Kyrian craned his neck, not sparing Seira a gaze "Go on"

"If you don't mind, I can read them for you and organize it based on the content of the letters"

She didn't hear any response that make her play her fingers in agitation "I-I w-work in a library and used to do that for our librarian there"

Kyrian put down the paper and stared at the woman with her head dropped, hands playing nervously. He never thought the woman would offer help to him when it was obvious that she was stiff and on edge around him. He was focused on his work but he was aware of the woman. His head suddenly throbbed. He's been working nonstop for days. He needed to finish the work as early as possible as he still had a lot of things to discuss with the Parliament.

"Write them down here" he pushed the long blank pad of paper and a pen "I want them before morning"

Seira's eyes widened but bit her tongue to stop herself from answering back. Now, she regrets her decision to help. She lifted the box carefully and turned to leave.

"Where are you going?" Kyrian said.

Seira pointed to the door reluctantly. Isn't it obvious, she was going to leave?

"Do that here" Kyrian ordered; facing the remaining papers on his desk, briskly adjusting his eyeglasses.

She sighed, sitting on the couch, and started reading the letters.

Soon after, the sound of the clock echoed in the room. Seira, who was sitting on the floor with a pen in her right hand, glanced at the clock. Her shoulders sagged when it showed midnight. She forgot to eat dinner. Slapping her head slightly, she looked down at the paper in front of her and to the letters that barely passed half of the box. Her hand was aching already from continuous writing. The letters were mostly complaints and admiration. Complaining about wealthy people abusing the prices in the market, harassing low-class people, and such. She did get angry while reading some serious letters. Capitalism was really pushing the poor families into the pit of society.

Seira looked at Kyrian. His head was on the desk; eyes shut closed; sleeves rolled up to his elbow and the eyeglass was on his hand. Instinctively, she stood up and picked the long coat hanging on the couch, carefully walking towards Kyrian. She slightly bent down; slowly putting the coat on his back, making sure not to touch his skin. Her eyes landed on the face of Kyrian. The thought of moving away had gone to her when she closely gazed at Kyrians' face. He was beautiful. It was like he didn't have a single blemish on his face. Long eyelashes, pointed nose, sharp jawline, thick eyebrows, and his evenly balanced lips. What does it feel like to touch the gorgeous features of this man? Without conscious thought, Seira lifted her hands slowly nearing Kyrians' face when he suddenly moved, making her bring back to her trance. She moved backward in shock; tripping over to her other foot, causing her to fall to the ground. Her eyes briskly looked at Kyrian, heart hammering. She sighed when Kyrian was still asleep at his desk. With a groan, she moved to the table; slightly slapping her forehead.

"What is wrong with you?" she muttered to herself as embarrassment spiked. Why did she even put a coat on him and especially tried to touch his face? He was not Mrs. Maelony or Mary for you to put on a coat! Confirmed. She was totally nuts. Arghh! Get a grip of yourself, Seira.

She shook her head to shake off the embarrassment and started reading again with her brows knitted together as she tried her best to concentrate.

……

Seira tucked a strand of the artificial hair she was wearing behind her ears. She yawned, wanting to have an hour of sleep as she finished reading and writing at exactly 6 in the morning. Thankfully, the prince was still asleep when she put it on the table. And just as she was about to open his office, the mighty prince beat her to it and was planning to head to his room.

"Servant"

The cold and chilly voice caught her attention. She stood up straight abruptly. With a deep breath, she opened the door and headed inside. She clutched her dress and entered the already opened double door. As soon as she stepped in, the impassive face of the prince; standing in the middle of the room was the first thing her eyes landed on. He was wearing a black polo and pants. The three upper buttons on the polo were unbuttoned.

"How may I help you, Your Highness?" she said with a bow; her heart hammering against her chest.

"Tell the equine caretaker to ready my horse"

Kyrian nonchalantly ordered. He then started to walk to the bathroom, unbuttoning his shirt. He woke up earlier with a coat wrapped around him. He didn't think that he would fall asleep last night. A paper was also set down on his desk with exquisite writing on it. That woman finished the task he ordered.

"May I ask where this person might be?" Seira bit her lower lip as she gripped her dress. The man might choke her out of nowhere from asking a simple question but she didn't know where the stable was. She doesn't even have a single route where the stables were.

"Find him yourself" Kyrian opened the bathroom door and shut it without sparing her a glance.

Seira rolled her eyes; still facing the floor before walking away, quietly closing the double door. She moved hurriedly to the main hall where the front door of the palace was located. Her eyes roamed around the palace grounds to look for someone to ask where the stable of horses was but there was no one in the area.

Two guards dressed in red and gold uniforms were standing on both sides of the door. She stopped in her tracks after seeing the sword of the men. Taking a deep sigh, she bowed like she instinctively did then passed the door quickly without looking back.

She glanced around in the field to search for other servants. A gaunt-looking man with blonde hair wearing an overall suit was sauntering in the field; holding a pair of soiled gloves in his hand.

"Excuse me!" she shouted, running in the direction of the man.

Her pace slows down when she takes in the face of the bloke. He was the servant who wanted to run away before they entered the palace.

"Hi"

She waited for any reply but only the sound of the wind blowing came. "Ahm…. Do you perhaps know where the stable or the equine caretaker was?"

"Are you a servant of a high person?"

"Unfortunately yes"

"Go straight this way and take a left turn, you will find the stable. You might found Mr. Herman on your way there"

"Thank you, you just saved me" She ran in the direction the man pointed, assuming that the man he was referring to was the equine caretaker the crazy prince mentioned. Just as she took another step, the man spoke.

"I'm Earl"

He looked at her with a hollow expression; staring directly at her eyes.

"I-I'm Seira" she slightly nodded before departing off to the direction he pointed out.
