The Half-truth

The lady gulped as she shook under the harsh scrutiny of the lord. Tears escaped and flowed to her fair skin. She didn't know that things would backfire on her this fast.

She should've known that Selena would react like that. That she will recognize her after she accidentally strolled down on the dungeon that day and saw Seira with white hair. She thought her daughter had forgotten that day.

"Sh-she was....... she was you-your daughter—Seira" she mumbled.

Lord Jedediah stayed still for a second. His younger daughter was alive all along.

He clenched his fist before he stroked his hair numerous times. His gray eyes were filled with fury. He stalked back to his wife and grasped her hand firmly.

"WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?! WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY DAUGHTER?!"

"NOTHING! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO HER!" the lady replied in a heartbeat.

"Then how do you know it was her? How did you know that white-haired woman was Seira?!"
