Ms. Cora dropped the receiver of the telephone as soon as the call from Frederick ended. The receiver dangled in the air as she loosened her hold on it. She collapsed on the floor with her hands desperately grasping the edge of her wooden desk. Clear, salty liquid rolled down on her wrinkled face. Her heart ached in sorrow.
"No" she whispered to herself at the news. "Bella"
She couldn't believe how those words broke her. Bella was happy and full of energy earlier in the morning. That woman even greeted her cheerfully. How come she is dead right now?
She cried, letting her emotions come out of her small office where Bella used to let herself in unannounced. Every servant in the palace was a child to her. She silently cared for them even though sometimes she couldn't do anything for them. Still, in her heart, they were important as they were her child. Losing such a young woman who was full of life and had the purest heart pained her.
