Chapter 2.39

“We had a really nice talk about you,” Isobel spoke. “She told me that she can see that Christian still loves you and that she feels sorry about everything.”

“Really?” I asked suspiciously. It sounded funny, coming from the woman who supposedly tried to take Siena away from me. “Yes, really!” Isobel reassured me.

“She said she never wanted things to go like this and that you are not the person she thought you were,” Isobel spoke. That sounded more like Cesca. “She wanted you to come to her and to talk to her so she could deal with Gina—“

“And I went crazy and beat her up while carrying the Lamberti name.” I sighed. That much I could agree with, my reaction was justified but completely unnecessary. “She’s pissed at you, and she is worried because she thinks your family is a bad influence. All she wants is for Christian to be with Siena.”
