Alpha Rogue Chapter 7

She came to my house just before noon. I had just gotten off the shower after a workout routine. I was on the back porch of our house sipping on some lemonade and thinking about the coming night when I heard the doorbell ring.

She must have been ringing it for quite a while because by then, she was doing it quite impatiently. Maybe it's because I had zoned out again.

I got off the rocking chair and headed for the front door. I got to the door and used the spyhole to see who it was and there she stood. A tall girl. She was a blonde, about 5'8". She had a white shirt, a very chick leather jacket, a pair of skinny denim pants, and a pair of black boots.

My mom and dad were not home at the time. I opened the door and stood right there at the threshold, then I said, "Hi." She didn't hit me back. Instead, she stood right where she was checking me out. I was used to people doing that since I was a giant at 6'2" weighing 250 pounds. With ash blonde hair and green eyes.

After she was done, she said something that caught me totally off guard. She said, "You look different. You were a lot skinny last time we met"

I started back at her dumbfounded and asked, "Do we know each other?"

She smiled sheepishly and whispered to herself, "Tactless" which I heard thanks to my super hearing. Then she said, " Are you gonna stand by the doorway all day, or are you gonna let me in?" I moved out of the way mechanically, still thinking about the first words she had said to me. I guess she took that as an invitation because she walked right past me and straight into the living room. I followed her inside and closed the door.

When I got into the living room, I sat on the closest chair I found and looked right at her without a word. She stared at me for a minute and then went to the kitchen. I heard the fridge door open then close and then she came back to the living room with a glass of milk. She sat down opposite me, put her legs on the sofa, then she said " We need to talk. " I was full of curiosity and impatience so. I said " We sure do. Start at the beginning please this time." She smiled a little she said, " I'm sorry for earlier, you must be wondering who I am, how I know you, and when we met." I didn't answer. So she went on. She said, " My name is Samantha Taylor. My friends call me Sam. You might not remember me but we met on your sixteenth birthday.

As for how I know you, I was tasked to be your Guardian by your mother." I gave that little declaration a minute, processing. Then I tried to ask a question. I say tried because I didn't get that far. I had so many questions that they were tripping over each other in my head. After a prolonged silence I asked " My mother?" she said " Yup, your mother. Your real mum. The one that gave birth to you." I couldn't believe it. My birth mother was alive. My emotions were all over the place. I guess this showed on my face because the next thing I know, Sam was walking towards me. She sat next to me and held my hand. I could have sworn I felt static when our hands touched. I looked at Sam wondering if she had felt the same. I was met by a blank unreadable face. If she'd felt it, I couldn't tell. As if she was reading my mind, she said "I know you have a lot of questions. Don't worry I'm not going anywhere. I will stay as long as you need me to. Answer the questions that I can. But for now, I need you to take some time and process what I just told you." I stayed in my seat for a moment then what Sam had just stayed hit me. I asked her, " You are going to be staying here with us? You have no luggage." She didn't answer me. She just held her hand out to me. I took it and she led me upstairs. We passed by my room, then two more rooms, then we got to the guest bedroom. We got inside. Sam made me sit on the bed then she went and opened the closet. It was full of girl clothes. I guess my foster mom put them there. I suddenly found myself wondering if my foster parents knew Sam was coming. That led to a million more questions. Like Sam's behavior when she came by, how she acted familiar to the house. Then as if on cue, the front door opened and we heard my parent come in. We both headed downstairs to meet them. We got to the living room and met them there waiting. My mom said "Hi Ace, Sam, how are you guys doing?" I was speechless for a second then I said, " You know who she is?" that's when my dad stepped in and said, "Son, we need to talk." then he led the way to the kitchen and all four of us sat around the table. My mom sat in last after she had served us with fresh orange juice. Then my dad said, " OK Ace, I think it's time you know who you are." in my mind I was like here we go.
