Fifty-seven: The demoness

The piano was an inch away from our faces when a bright light came through it. Splitting the wood before the impact threw us backwards.

I felt Lucian reached out for me and wrapped his body around mine before we landed hard on the floor. Then I blacked out again.

It was pure luck when he managed to conjure a cutting spell. Any second of hesitation would've killed them. Allison pulled him away from the crashed piano and casted a smoke all over the place. It won't last long but it should give them a few minutes to think of a plan.

"Are you okay?" Allison asked.

"Yeah. But my fingers are numb." He replied and tried to raise his right arm but it felt heavy.

"You're lucky it didn't come off. Next time you plan on using level two magic at least warn me first." Allison massaged his arm while conducting a healing spell. "Where did you even learn that?"
