Anxieties 3

27 August, 12040.

Darren played with the porridge with his spoon, letting the sweet scent waft his face. He scooped up gruel raising the spoon to his lips to blow on the food. Once the steam lessened, he placed the spoon in his mouth to taste the sweet food. He continued to eat, spoon after spoon until the bowl was empty.

Darren laid back after finishing his smoothie, covering himself with the blanket from the waist down.

Two days. He slept for two days, which meant Alesia must have stayed awake to monitor him.

Darren looked out across the room, to the window where the sun moved across the eastern sky. He had woken up during the late morning.

Darren closed his eyes tightly, his brow knitting in the middle of his forehead. He slept for six months when he saved Abby and now he slept two days after saving an entire city. Although his body was repairing itself during those six months, those six months he slept completely changed his life. He no longer had a home or a job.
