After sweeping the whole lot and also inside the cabin we met up with wavering faces after learning that dad was nowhere to be found.
"Mom? is dad-"
*Sob
While I was about to ask about dad, mom suddenly teared up. Seeing mom cry, it only meant two things, and as I thought about those things, I began to tear up also.
*sniff
"waaah!!!" x2
"Uhm… maybe he's at the hospital?"
Hospital?
"What do you mean?"
"The hospital was already packed with patients so they only took a few of the wounded and brought most of the survivors here to have them healed by our mages."
True enough, it was weird that the injured were brought here in the first place, when hospitals were the one who actually specializes in treating them.
"Why didn't you say that first?! This is so embarrassing."
We wiped our weeping faces after hearing the priest's faces. It was embarrassing, really. I mean really because the priests that were busy healing the patients faced our way when we wailed so loudly.
"By the way, why are you not helping the other mages with the healing?"
"I haven't received my blessing yet... I don't really know the reason why God won't bless me when all these patients are lining up in front of me."
Well that's not surprising. Both mom and I stared at the priest with a dry expression and rubbed the priest's back.
"You'll get it someday…"
"Yeah, just fix your whole character, I'm sure that'll do the trick."
"Is that so…?"
The priest asked with a confused look.
The words and how he often acts reveals just how much of an unworthy person he is. This guy is hopeless, six years from now I'm sure he'll quit being a priest.
"So… Are you going to take the ceremony now?"
"No, I don't think it's good to do the ceremony with all these busy people."
Yeah, It's really not a good idea to light up some statues while a lot of people are suffering.
"I agree, lighting up statues in the middle of these injured people is not a good idea."
Did he just read my mind?!

-We left the cathedral to look for dad at the hospital and saw a large crowd of reporters blocking the path.
"Did somebody get hurt in the explosions?"
Apparently the police department's vehicles suddenly exploded yesterday and here they are trying to dig up some information.
"These reporters are so annoying."
"Don't be like that dear, these people are just doing their jobs."
"But this is a hospital, they're killing lots of people just by being here blocking the path."
There are a lot of cases where reporters disturb doctors on duty wanting to ask about strong mages who go missing after dying on the hospital bed. As the people of this city are curious about these weird occurrences, the doctor's are not really at fault if no word comes out. They save lives day and night and these stupid reporters just barrage them with their thoughtless questions. They should be ashamed of themselves. It's the ones at the top they should be asking those questions.
"You have a point there, dear. Don't worry, I'll handle this."
As mom said that, she walked near the crown with giant steps stomping the ground and suddenly shouting.
"YOU DAMN SHITTY REPORTERS! MOVE OUT OF THE WAY OR I'LL BURY YOU ALL ALIVE!"
The busy reporters jolted because of the sudden loud voice.
"I'll give you 3 counts! THREE!"
"She's bluffing."
You're darn right she is, mister!
"Two!"
"And if she's not?"
Nope, she definitely is, little girl!
I'm tall, so I get to call them little.
"One!"
"Runnn! She's that super strong blessed one! She makes craters with one stomp!"
I made up some lies to support my mom and her unwavering determination. Or should I call it stupidity?
"Is that true?"
"I've heard of her!"
"Me too! She's that human monster!"
Where did that come from? I've never heard of a strong blessed person being called a monster before?
After hearing countless baseless rumors, the reporters began running for their lives while mom gave me a 'thumbs up' along with a wink as thanks for the support.
Moms are idiots.
"Let's go!"
We rushed inside the hospital after causing trouble at the entrance and went directly to the front desk to ask for information.
*huff *huff
"That was a *huff close call."
"Thanks dear *huff without you *huff I'm not sure what I would do in that situation."
"I'm sure you could think of something else mom."
Hearing my uplifting words, she looked at me with a flustered expression while combing her hair with her hand away from her right ear.
Mom's are gullible.
After catching our breath, we ask the female clerk at the front desk:
"Did a patient named 'Zeke Jeager' get admitted here?"
"Please wait a moment ma'am, I'll check the list of patients who are being treated here."
"Mom, your husband's name is Jimmy!"
"Oh right! Sorry, Could you change that name to 'Jimmy Olsen'?"
"Mom! It's Jimmy Carson!"
"Ah right! Carson! Jimmy Carson please."
"Alright ma'am, please wait a moment."
A few seconds passed, we asked the desk girl again.
"So is there a person named like that in there?"
"I'm happy to say there's no one named like that in here."
Happy? Why would she be happy that we couldn't find our missing person?
Well, under normal circumstances, you would be happy if a person doesn't end up in a place where most people die, but in this case you shouldn't be happy about it seeing how frantic we're acting!
"Although there is someone named Jaime Carson."
"That's his brother, but we don't care about him. Thanks anyway."
You should care! He's your brother in law you know!?
"Okie Dokie!"
They're both definitely weird!
Now that I think about it, why didn't she get angry earlier? A normal person would get angry if someone would take too much of their time, but this girl she's super happy about everything!
"Let's just go back home dear."
Even though we didn't find dad in the list, we weren't feeling all that sad. In fact, I'm glad that he wasn't reported dead yet.
It must be that girl!
Now I know why they put that 'thing' at the front desk, even though she's a little weird.
As we walked through the hall to go outside I turned my head towards the front desk to take another look at the weird girl.
She was staring at us with a genuinely wide smile.
Her freckled face, yellow eyes, blue short hair and red lips are actually pretty cute.
She had a great figure, good height, probably the same as me. A chest, thin waist and a big round butt.
The one piece nurse uniform she was wearing made her body look powerful.
She waved goodbye as she saw me looking intently at her. Thus, I gave her a smile as a response.
After stepping outside the hospital with disappointed faces, we walked near a bakery shop to buy some cake. I don't really know what the cake was for but I still followed her to the display of cakes.
"Hmm"
"Mom, let's get this one."
I pointed to one of the cakes.
It was a square white cream cake with white icing covering the bread and white ribbon tied directly to it like a gift rap without cover.
"Wait, what? Why would they wrap the actual cake with ribbon!?"
"Ahhh, that's not a real ribbon little girl, it's just royal icing."
I stared at the 'royal icing' with a baffled look.
Royal icing? Is it similar to royal guards? So this cake is like a queen, huh? More important 'little girl'? With how tall I am, nobody would ever dare to call me 'little girl'.
I turned to look at her and saw her… chest? It was resting on the glass cabinet where the cakes were waiting to be chosen. Was it big? Don't ask me that.
She was so tall that I missed her face on my first look and had to raise my head once more.
I studied her face and realized that she was the same person as the weird attendant standing at the front counter in the hospital earlier.
"Aren't you the same person as the girl back in hospital?"
