Go Out with the King

A servant came to deliver a set of incense sticks for Bai Xiu. Then the man brought the incense to the south-facing window. It is the direction facing the sea.

Xue Ji took off her bamboo hat. She secretly observed Bai Xiu. What will the man do? Could he be making an offering to the sea?

Then Bai Xiu lit the incense sticks and stuck them in the kiln. He placed his palms on his chest and then closed his eyes solemnly.

Xue Ji and Peng Yuan only glanced at each other. Bai Xiu looked like he was praying, so they didn't bother him.

The wind blows from the south. The incense sticks burned out quickly.

Bai Xiu took out a small piece of paper. He picked up the remaining ash from the incense burner and wrapped it in the paper.

"You're going to keep it?" Xue Ji asked in surprise.

"This is a good stuff," Bai Xiu replied casually. He folded the paper and put it away properly.
