Damnation

The beast's attacks got faster and stronger as it felt like the creature was gaining a sort of intelligence as it predicted my strikes and when I would counter. I kept the wolf's paws at bay with my fire-clad hands, but the beast proved to be stronger. I was swat away like a fly and managed to right myself in the air before landing and blocking another ferocious attack. My bones were beginning to crack from the pressure, sending jolts of pain through my arms.

I gnashes my teeth and fought through the pain as I began to slowly gain ground against the wolf. As I bat the beast's paws away and kicked out with all of my strength, hitting the creature in the nose with enough force to break it and slightly fracture its jaw. The wolf yelped loudly before swiping its paw out in an effort to keep me at bay. I ducked under the swipe and stabbed my fire-blade through its leg before ripping it out, almost severing the beast's leg from under the knee.

The wolf took this chance to snap down at my head with its razor sharp teeth. I grabbed the beast's maw and slammed it shut before using all of my strength to flip it over my shoulder, creating spiderweb cracks in the ground. I raised my fist and went to slam it down on the wolf's head, but it was able to roll out of the way and lunge at me.

I spun and blocked its initial swipe, but was too slow to catch the second. It felt like I was being stabbed by burning hot needles, but I was able to catch the beast off guard by blasting it with a large amount of Arc energy, giving me enough time to stop the bleeding. I let the Solar blades on my hands fade away before drawing Sol, its crimson blade shining brightly in teh moonlight.

"Alright, you've got my attention now...I hope you're ready!" I leapt at the wolf and slashed out with Sol, tearing through the wolf's thick fur as it tried to block. The beast yelped and whined in agony as its already injured leg was now left dangling by a single piece of flesh. I held Sol up high with both hands as I filled it to the brim with Solar energy. I knew that some trees would be burnt, but I didn't really care at the moment.

"It was fun while it lasted..." Those were my parting words to the beast as I brought the flaming Sol down and created a massive line of fire that hurtled toward it. The fire exploded in a brilliant display of red and orange as it made contact with the wolf. Thinking that the battle was over, I began to sheathe Sol so that I could properly put out the surrounding fire, however, a clawed hand reached out toward my throat as two purple eyes glared at me with hatred.

I jumped backwards and saw that the wolf had evolved into a Servant. Its black fur was now tinged in a milky white as it waved and bent like a fire in the wind. That wasn't the most shocking part though, the creature now had the ability to move on two legs of all things...

I swore as I dodged a ridiculously fast swipe and vaulted out of the way of a snapping maw. It was then that I heard a familiar voice calling out to me. "Consume it...take back what is rightfully ours! You will need me more than ever sooner than you think...so, consume the Darkness and grow stronger, so that I may become stronger and aid you in your time of reckoning!"

I ducked under a frenzied swipe and slashed the werewolf's stomach, but my blade just passed through it like it was a phantom. I was forced to spin away from the beast as it tried to kick me with its sharp, clawed feet. I began to pour more Solar energy into Sol when the voice came again and said "Use my power...only Darkness can truly get rid of Darkness..."

I felt my Light running dangerously low, however, that strange energy that I've had since I left the First City was ready to burst. I hesitated for a second before deciding to trust my gut. I let the Solar energy disperse before thrusting the unknown energy into Sol, turning its pristine crimson blade into a two-tone black and milky white color.

I noticed that the beast began to grow timid as it stared at my blade, slowly backing away as its eyes darted around. I took one last glance at Sol before rushing forward and taking advantage of the beast's momentary opening to slash its stomach once more, carving a deep gash in its side. Black blood began to spray out from the beast as it let out a horrifying screech.

I quickly reversed my swords momentum and severed the creatures right arm before spinning and kicking the creature in the chest, sending it flying back and crashing into a large tree. The werewolf had a look of defiance in its eyes as its breathing became ragged. I raised Sol up once more and let it come crashing down upon the beast, killing it instantly.

I dispelled the energy from Sol and fell on my back, a sudden weariness crashing over my body like a wave, when the beast's body began to fold in on itself until it formed a small sphere about the size of my palm. The sphere then began to float toward me as the voice's wispy voice hissed "Yes, take it! Take it!!"

I unconsciously extended my hand out and grasped the ball, causing it to disappear and merge with the strange energy present within my body. The two began to swirl around each other until they formed a more 'pure' looking version of the energy, its black and milky-white surface gleaming as it hungrily called out for more.

I felt my body recovering at a startling rate as the gash on my chest began to heal at a visible rate. With my stamina returned and my body feeling as light as ever, I picked myself up off the ground and put out the rampaging fire before making my way back to the village to report my success.

'Leo...? Do you...see that?' Jack's voice rang out in my head in a frightened tone as he turned the radar on, its usual grey surface now a deep, crimson red. I began to look around the forest and found nothing except for trees. Just as I was about to turn to begin walking toward the village once more, a dark murderous intent shook my body to its core.

Just as quick as it had come, the intent had vanished along with whatever was setting the radar off, leaving me stunned and sweating bullets. Sure, I had encountered people with some nasty killing intent, but that...that was on a completely different level than anything I had ever felt before...

I noticed that I had fallen to my knees with my hands supporting my shivering body. I stumbled to my feet and coursed Arc energy through my body in an effort to get rid of the numbness I was feeling. I hurried back to the village so I could warn them of a potential threat, however, when I got there it was deathly quiet.

There were lights on in some houses and torches still lit atop the walls, but there were no people. I slowly made my way around the wall and reached the gate. I gently pushed it open and walked through, my eyes darting around the various shadows created by the buildings. I had gotten a few meters away from the Chief's house when a creak behind me caught my attention.

I spun around as I drew Sol but, instead of a monster, there was a girl who looked about ten years old covered in blood. She reached her hand out toward me as if asking for help, but she suddenly fell limp. I ran over and saw a gruesome scene. The inside of the house was a bloodbath with body parts everywhere, and even the girls bottom half was severed cleanly.

I nearly vomited from the sight, despite all of the encounters I've had. I stood up and quickly made my way to the Chief's house, finding it as clean as it was when I had left it. I began to slowly walk down into the main room when I heard a small noise coming from my right. I turned my head and saw that one door was opened very slightly with the room pitch black.

As I was about to walk over and search the room, a bloodied corpse flew through the door and slammed against the wall next to me. A humanoid creature with patches of fur growing from its legs and arms stepped out from the room, its clawed feet clacking against the floor and making an ominous sound.

The creature smiled, showing off its two large canines, as it held its hands out wide and bowed before saying "Greetings, young Guardian. Ahaha, you should see the look on your face, it's absolutely hilarious!" It was unmistakable. That voice was the old man's.

Javel began to walk toward the middle of the room as he held his palm out. The bloodied corpse flung itself toward him and landed in his hand, giving him the opportunity to taste the corpse's blood. Then, Javel slowly turned the body to where I could see its face. It was the same blond haired young man, who looked no older than eighteen, that brought me to the Chief's house.

I felt my muscles twitch as I looked the monster in his sick yellow eyes and spat "You're a murderer...how could you do this to your own people!?" Javel laughed and said "Boy, these Humans were never my people, they were merely livestock that I had kept for my own entertainment..." I snapped Sol out of its sheath and slashed down at the beast with my full strength.

Javel scoffed and lifted a single clawed finger and stopped my blow with ease. I leapt back and made chains out of Arc energy and wrapped them around his body, but they had no effect. Javel flexed and the chains dispersed, leaving me with a bad taste in my mouth.

Suddenly, Javel was in front of me with his clawed hand aimed for my throat. I brought Sol up and managed to stop the attack, but I began to slide backwards as he began to push forward. Javel smirked and said "Ho ho, looks like you can entertain me some more!" before kicking me in the stomach and into a wall.

I slammed into the wall and found Javel's fist buried in my stomach. I spit out a mouthful of blood as Javel laughed in glee before tossing me to the middle of the room. My vision was turning blurry as blood dripped down and into my eyes. Javel began to walk towards me when the roof crumbled to dust and a humanoid figure clad in black scales leapt toward Javel.

The scaled man threw out a punch and hit Javel squarely in the jaw, breaking it with a loud cracking noise. The man started to walk toward Javel calmly, but Javel's body began to lurch and convulse violently like he was being stabbed repeatedly.

The scaled man reached Javel and said "You should've stayed in your cage..." before lopping his head off with a quick swipe of his hand. Javel's head fell to the floor with a dull thump, his face twisted into an expression of rage and agony. The man turned his head to me as one of Wraith's portals appeared next to me.

Wraith's head popped out of the portal and the only thing I heard was a robotic sounding "Yo."
