The doctor

The figure came out with a big sack stuffed with items, and looked at Rōjū waiting. "Well then, where is the place?" they asked, then waited for an answer. Rōjū responded almost without a second to spare "Just follow me. You'll... heal him right?" The figure looked up to the sky, lost in thought for a moment. "You could say so, physically" they looked back at Rōjū "But worry not, I am the best at these things". And with that, they went on their not so merry way back to the location of the crash, where crickets and fireflies formed part of the ambience.

Meanwhile, back there Gaarek was running out of effort to spend, barely able to hold on to consciousness. Kohana wasn't doing much better, she had not eaten in a day, which shouldn't be much for her, but her stomache was rumbling and she was starting to doze off into sweet slumber. Not quite the best situation, but help was possibly coming. . . Some steps are heard. Kohana jolts up and Gaarek opens his eyes one more time to look at the direction of the sound. Rōjū's back, and with a weird person with a doctor-like outfit, however it seemed customized in a few parts. A few jewels as buttons, the eyes of the mask covered with black stained glass. It wasn't the regular uniform, but one could barely notice it, it was as if the person didn't want to actually change the uniform.

"Hello there, what is your name?" the guy asked me, I couldn't answer. How could I? I was barely able to breathe by now, and I can't feel my leg. Is it still there? Should I try to check? "Hello? Is your little friend still awake?" Don't talk to them like babies, please. Don't misjudge them. "Hello sir? I am asking if your child is still alive." Ah, he was talking to me, then it's not misjudging. "Yes.." "Then you were luckier than most, speaking frankly, you should've all been thrown into the cliff right there" Cliff? What clif- oh. "Lucky is an understatement, this tree practically saved you." he sounds.. a bit angry for some reason. Maybe it's just the mask. "Nevertheless, let me aid you. Is that wound on your leg all you three got?" You're saying that as if it's insignificant.."Yes.." "Let me start then" So he has a bag? Just how much stuff did he bring for healing my leg? "I'll start by stopping the bleeding, you were also lucky this leaf wasn't dirty at all" I swear, he's complaining. I don't like this guy, but if he makes me able to protect them for a little while more then, what am I saying? It's not like I have a say in the matter, he's doing whatever he wants. "There we go, lets see if your bone is broken, this will hurt...a bunch" "AAaH" Fucking asshole! There was definitely more force than needed there! "Well it isn't broken, which, is lucky. But it is damaged. So we'll have to straighten it with a wooden plank, please?" Who is he telling that to? Rōjū? It took me months to make him even get near me to be able to feed him. I don- "On my way!" Huh? Well, I guess I'll just stop thinking now. I shouldn't use energy unnecessarily ..

Rōjū went to get a wooden plank, luckily for him there were more than a few lying around. He grabbed a couple to make sure he got one that was alright for the figure. Now that he observed closer though, the figure had normal height and arms as well as legs. Was it wearing a costume? Why so? Rōjū ended up picking up 2 more before heading back. "Ah yes, thank you. . Hmmm, lets see. Ah this one will do just fine" They picked up one from the bunch and put it next to Gaarek's leg before sticking it to said leg with some rope they took from the bag. The bag did not get any smaller, it retained its form. Just how much stuff was in there? Well, in the end the figure stood up and looked at Gaarek, then at the beaten up vehicle, if it could be called such, and asked "Do you, gentlemen, need a lift?" To which Gaarek replied with a slow nod, with a bit of hesitance. "Well then, I'll prepare a vehicle. Until then, why don't you hang around my...town?" He said, pausing at the end, as if doubting his own word. "Yes, town, you are invited to one of my houses as a guest. Sadly I am not prepared for visits other than that, so I am not able to provide food or fuel sources, so you'll have to get those on your own. If you accept, that is" The figure kneeled to face Gaarek. "So?" Gaarek sighed in defeat. "Do we truly have a choice?" The figure let out a short laugh "Ha! You could always freeze outside if you wanted, but you don't seem to want that yet" Gaarek winced at that comment "Guess we'll go then" The figure stood up again with hast, swinging his walking stick around. "Wonderful! Let's get going then!" They said before walking back to their town. "Oh yeah, you should help him walk little ones" He said quickly stopping, before resuming just as fast. Kohana and Rōjū helped Gaarek up, who was trying not to fall on top of the kids at this point. Slowly, but surely, they started to make their way to the town of the mysterious doctor. Gaarek mentioned the fact it was one to the kids while trying to distract himself from the pain he felt on his leg

And so, eventually they got to a small house. This house had one chimney and fireplace to go with it. A kitchen and a rustic living room with one table and four chairs. Connecting to the living room was a hallway that directed them to 3 rooms, which were small but could fit two people each. The beds were fairly large and had comfortable pillows to go with them. Besides that there was a locked basement that was checked by Kohana after they left Gaarek on one of the beds, and was disappointed to find it locked. She went to her room where Rōjū was already passed out from running back and forth the town and Gaarek. Kohana sighed and went to the living room where she sat. "How did we end up in here..."

Hanonai, the small rat, was happily resting inside Kohana's clothes. Oblivious to everything that just happened.
