Chapter 62 : You have pretty eyes.

Nectar punched him in the gut sending him flying and out of her booth. She smiled satisfyingly to herself as she dusted her hands, " I hope I didn't hurt him too much ". The others were already attending to him and Nectar sighed " I should get out of here ".

Opening her eyes, she realized she'd appeared downstairs on Wheat's side of the counter. Rubbing the bridge of her nose, she sighed " I've had waaaay too much to drink tonight ".

But Wheat slapped the back of her head with the ladle, " Not on my side of the counter Red ". Nectar nodded, she actually needed that, she felt a lot more sober when she heard a chuckle.

Turning in the direction, she was met with dangerous green eyes that seemed like a snakes. Rubbing her face, she dismissed the thought [ I should really lay off for a while ]

Nectar lazily jumped over the counter and sat down, trying to be sober. She couldn't risk appearing in the wrong place, what if she appeared in front of Eros or worse, Liam?

She was slightly startled when someone tapped her shoulder, turning around she saw a tall man with blood red hair half his height and bright golden eyes, he seemed dangerous for some reason though the man seemed normal once you got past his devilishly handsome face.

Nectar could still feel his dangerous aura and sighed [ Bless my soul, I don't think I can take much more of this ] " Is there something I could help you with mister "? The man didn't answer, his mouth slightly agape when he suddenly spoke pointing at his eyes, " You have pretty eyes ".

Nectar was too stunned to know what to say [ That's a first ] but she smiled all the same, " Thank you and your hair looks really soft and shiny too mister ".

There was a commotion from upstairs and Nectar looked recognizing him as the man from earlier. He seemed to be aiming something her way or maybe he was aiming at the man facing her, [ Give me a break ]

She pushed the man aside, using the other hand to make an ice staff and threw it the same time he attacked but it wasn't able to deflect his attack, just weaken it. She closed her eyes, waiting for the hit since she'd pushed the other man away [ I can handle a few surface wounds ] but nothing came

Slowly opening her eyes, she realized the man with green eyes had stopped it from getting it to her and instead caught what appeared to be black needles between his fingers [ So the gods did hear my complaining ]

His serious demeanour faded almost instantly as he turned back to his lazy self, setting the needles on the table next to her and smiled up at her attacker, " You shouldn't be attacking a lady, makes you seem weaker than you already are ".

Nectar couldn't help but giggle at his behavior, the others had already held him down so he was no longer a threat. Nectar got up, helped the long haired man up and smiled " I'm sorry about that ".

Nectar was suddenly interrupted by Wheat who seemed to be about to pop a vein under his bangs " Just go Red. You're literally destroying business right now ". Nectar pouted playfully, " And I was just starting to have fun ". She then waved at the two men with a smile, " It was nice meeting you two though ".

And like that, she disappeared. The others didn't seem surprised but the two were more than shocked as they stared in disbelief at each other.

Luscious got over himself quickly and began teasing Axis " You have such pretty eyes. The gate to my heart you have unlocked. What was that all about "? Axis almost popped a vein, smashing Luscious' skull " Shut the hell up ".

Luscious laughed louder, rubbing the spot " And you say you have trouble with emotions. I've never even seen you flustered till now ".

Axis frowned slightly, sitting next to Luscious " I don't hate this feeling though ". Luscious smiled, collecting the beer mug Wheat slid to him " Is that a good thing or a bad thing "?

Axis sighed picking the mug in front of him, " I'm not sure and besides, I don't even know how I'll find her again ". Luscious took a swig of his beer and laughed " She might not even be as dazzling as you think. Maybe you should investigate her ".

Axis sighed " What's the point, we'll be in the capital this time tomorrow ". Luscious didn't let up " Then I'll give you the best memory of her, so you can stop thinking of her ". Axis frowned " What's that supposed to mean "?

But Luscious hit the table, getting Wheat's attention. Wheat sighed as he crossed over to their side, wiping a mug with a towel " How can I help you gentlemen "? Luscious smiled warmly, " My friend and I were simply hoping to get some information ".

Wheat smirked slightly, his expression unreadable due to his bangs " That depends on what you want to know ". Luscious waved his hand nonchalantly " The lady who just disappeared. I just wanna hear you say something about her ".

Wheat silently placed the cup down and looked at Luscious, " What do you want to know "? Axis was surprised by the eagerness in his voice as he spoke x Her name, start from there ".

Wheat shrugged " Nobody knows, we just call her Red ". Luscious raised an eyebrow " Then how can you trust her so easily ". Wheat laughed softly to himself, " You make it sound like she's proved us otherwise ".

Luscious found himself interested " I mean, it's pretty clear she's dangerous. I mean she even got herself attacked and almost destroyed your place ". Wheat nodded understandingly " You're right, but it was my fault ".

Wheat began counting on his fingers and Luscious felt his mouth twitch " What "? Wheat glanced at him " I've got to calculate the cost and double it. Serves her right, never listens when I tell her to take it outside ".

Wheat was about to walk away when Luscious spoke up, slightly irritated " We're not done here ". Wheat waved him off and signalled to Joe " There's some people asking about Red again, you deal with this ones ".

Joe nodded and pulled a seat out between the two, smiling " Ah! Another has taken a fancy to our troublesome Red ". Axis nodded slightly, " We were just curious is all ".

Joe nodded half seriously, patting him on the back. Though it didn't hurt Axis due to his special physique, it still stung a little " She just popped out of nowhere a few months back and stops by most nights. She's a hoot ".

Luscious felt his irritation grow [ How do you trust someone you know nothing about? It makes no sense ] but he calmed himself and spoke in his usual carefree manner " So what exactly does she do in here "?

Joe shrugged " Nothing much, just what you'd be doing in a pub. Drinking, dancing and joking around ". Luscious sighed " Isn't dangerous to just give out information to random strangers "?

Joe snickered, " You say that like you're going to hurt her ". Luscious smirked playfully " And if I was "? Though Joe frowned, he was quickly back to his loud and cherry self again, even slapping Luscious' head " You wouldn't be able to catch her and besides Red can handle herself ".

Luscious laughed half heartedly, " Just go on ". Joe smiled " Well, she just comes in and talks, maybe get drunk a few times and plays a few games. She's quite popular round this parts ....."

Luscious didn't care about this conversation anymore, instead it annoyed him how this people could trust a complete powerful stranger so unquestionably.
