Rebirth of A heartless empress

    " When did you get so heavy Rio? Just get in the carriage ". Fauna carried or at least pulled him towards it with all she had and Tera sighed, coming back to help her " They're all just like master. So we must be like Lord Soul ".


   Fauna raised an eyebrow, " No offense but neither of us can deal with what he has to deal with ". Tera smiled, " You're right, but it's still the same trick ". She squatted low in front of Mario.


   " You know, there are a lot of fluffy pillows and blankets in the carriage. A few more steps and you won't have to bother about us bothering you ". Mario yawned as he rubbed his eyes, " You're blocking the way Tera ". 


   Tera moved aside and let him walk to the carriage himself. Fauna's brown twitched slightly but she smiled all the same, " Maybe you were right just this once ". Tera nodded as she walked towards the carriage, " Whatever you say ". 


   " Where did you go to earlier "? Nectar smiled innocently as she looked around, " What do you mean "? Liam crossed his arms, still staring at her " Are you really going to lie in a temple, just after finishing the morning prayer "? 


   Nectar gulped back her lie and shook her head like a child, " I went to see the priest ". Liam made a slightly disgusted face, " Why would you do that "? Nectar laughed nervously, " I promised I wouldn't tell. But it's not something to worry about ". 


    Liam shrugged and Nectar sighed, touching his neck " You always seem like a different person during winter Millie ". Again Liam shrugged, " I don't think so and its probably cos I haven't had enough sleep ".  Nectar nodded and led him to the carriage [ I thought I could pass this off as a vacation...so much work ] 


     Kancor was a lot more uncomfortable as Christopher looked at him [ I don't think I did anything wrong lately ] and felt him staring at him more intently [ But I feel guilty ] " Is something wrong your holiness "? 


   Christopher snapped out of it, " Nothing. You just seem a lot healthier than I remember ". Kancor smiled slightly [ How many more times do I have to hear that? ] " My health took a miraculous turn for the better I guess ". 


    Christopher nodded, still looking at him " Has anyone ever told you you're special "? Kancor subconsciously took a step back [ I'm done ] " This would be oddest one but yes ". Christopher nodded, " No problem. Do remember to enjoy the eclipse though ". 


   Kancor suddenly frowned [ This is bad ] " What eclipse "? Christopher sighed, " With all this talk of the peace celebration, no one remembered the lunar eclipse that's supposed to happen on the winter solstice during the event ". 


    He rambled on with a smile, " It's a shame no one's taking this serious. It happens in three phases every century ". Kancor was sincerely interested now, " I'm a little surprised to hear you being so enthusiastic about it ". 


     " Being the chief priest of the Wastrum gate, I'm constantly reading signs from the sun. An interest in the moon and stars seems obvious ". Kancor nodded, rubbing his neck " You're so right. To be honest with you, I'm sort of a lunar fanatic myself. If you could share any information on it with me, you'd be making me so much happier ". 


    Christopher smiled, putting an arm over his shoulder and making Kancor bend to come down to his level " Gladly. It's so nice to see young ones taking an interest in things around them ". Kancor internally sighed as he looked back and saw Nectar with her horse [ You owe me big time ]
