Chapter 134 : Food for your thoughts.
The smell of fresh hot food was enough to stop the murmuring of the people at the table. Nectar was particularly pleased with the dishes on the table. Athena led them in a short prayer as they blessed the food.
Fauna and Tera stood behind Nectar, being first level servants now. They waited for Nectar to make her pick so they could serve her but she simply stretched her hand out and picked a freshly baked piece of bread.
It burned her hands almost immediately and she tossed it from hand to hand. The kids laughed, making fun of Nectar's expression. She managed to get the food to her plate and again gave Kancor a high five.
Fauna bent over and whispered into her ear, " Your majesty, let us help you serve the food ". Nectar smiled as she used the knife to cut into it, releasing the steam within, " It's fine, I can do it myself ".
Tera also bent over and whispered, " Please let us help you, Lord Soul has promised to punish us if we don't serve you ". Nectar immediately glared at Liam who was avoiding her gaze and instead helped Nichole with her food.
Nectar sighed and fell back into her seat, crossing her hands " Fine, but this one time ". Fauna and Tera smiled, standing straight again " Thank you master ". Nectar pointed at what she wanted and allowed Fauna and Tera serve it for her.
Suki on the other hand clenched her fist so tightly, it seemed it would bleed at any time [ Those were originally my servants ] The familiar scent of rain calmed her down as her closest servant whispered into her hair.
" Mistress Suki is far better than letting two servants beneath her feet get under her skin ", Suki nodded in agreement and let her spoon go. Taking a deep breath, she smiled calmly " You're right Portia. Far beneath me ".
Much like her master, Portia hated the one eyed sisters as much as Suki hated Nectar. [ How much good fortune can those two possibly have? ]
They were supposed to be dead, but now they looked healthier and more vibrant while she was stuck here sucking up to a spoiled brat. Glancing at the trio, the servant and master duo both had the same spot, [ I must destroy her (them) ]
Alice felt a sort of familiarity when she saw Nectar but then again, she had the irresistible urge to rip her apart and it wasn't just for the success of their plan. She was surprised when Eros put a piece of greens in her plate and looked up at him.
" Thank you your majesty ", she glanced at Athena who was sitting opposite them but a little further. She frowned when she realized Athena wasn't paying her attention but instead laughing with Reli and Melanie who were by her sides.
She pressed her thumb lightly [ Why isn't this working? ] and sighed in defeat as she picked her fork and began eating. She didn't even notice the confusion on Eros' face.
Eros felt completely lost and confused by the people around him. [ When did everything change so much? ] Nectar was completely ignoring him, Reli wasn't obsessed with him and now Athena seemed sort of distant.
He tilted his head to the side as Melanie laughed, [ Even Melanie's talking now ] He heard a mocking laugh in his head [ Maybe you just never noticed ] Eros frowned slightly, tapping his temple lightly [ How many times must I remind you not to get in my head? ]
Nova sat next to Luscious and pushed the food on her plate about. She frowned as she glanced at Dimitri who placed a piece of fish on her plate, " What? You should at least eat something ". Nova sighed as she stabbed her fork into it, " Fine, but only cos I want you to stop bothering me ".
Dimitri rested his chin on his palm which was being supported by his elbow on the table and smiled, " Of course, whatever makes my princess happy ". Nova nearly chocked on her fish as she looked at Dimitri who had an innocent smile on his face.
Resna smiled as she put her hands to her cheeks, " You two look adorable ". Famo laughed heartily, " My daughters always get the cream of the crop ". Nova smiled slightly, " Of course father, we get it from you " [ Anything less is never enough for you ]
