Chapter 7 Training

After the morning lesson with Sidri and lunch with my family, I was led to an open space behind the castle by my mother who took a short break of an hour to teach me basic combat technique.

The field was open and grassy. I could see the many weapons like shields, swords, and arrows on a shelf not far from where I was standing.

"Well then sweetie, today I am going to teach you about different kinds of classes that fighters or adventurers use."

She started to explain and I nodded. Come to think of it, I haven't used my [Appraisal] skill on anyone. I am such a cute klutz~

She lightly smacked my head when I used appraisal on her.

"It is not good to use appraisal on just anyone, you know? I know you may have some skills that you want to test but be careful. People standing at a higher level could easily detect if someone is using these tricks unless if your appraisal skill is of higher rank than my Intuition skill."

I didn't consider that one coming. Guess I have to start using this skill unless I gained that cheat Sha Naqba Imuru that let you see almost everything from the creation of humanity to its destruction. It is a super cheat that could lead you to victory with optimal tactics. Gilgamesh used this noble phantasm a few times since it is just like Gameshark codes and takes away the excitement and pressure that would help you in gaining good experience.

I nodded while rubbing my head since her soft smack was a little hard for me. I guess I could gain a little Endurance experience that way.

"Now then, since you are still a child, I will teach you some techniques where you can strengthen your muscles." She said then removed her upper robe to let me see her crystal skin a little darker than mine but still good. She was only wearing a blouse type of cloth a little loose where I can see her under boob. She also had good muscles in her body despite being a woman.

"Ara~ I didn't know you would blush to see your mom's body like this."

I failed in the end as my cheeks became red.

"Why are you removing your clothes?" I asked with my eyebrows twitching. I would like if the woman is Sidri but seeing my mom, no thanks!

"What do you mean? I can't show you techniques with these robes. It will all get sweaty. Anyway, watch me carefully."

She then lay down with her hands on the ground and performed simple pushups 10 times.

"See, very easy right?"

I just stood there with a blank expression.

"D-don't look at me like that! Hurry up and start doing it."

And so I start doing pushups. At first, it was very hard but slowly I was able to control my movements but I was only able to do 10 pushups at most since it is still a frail body.

Well, that was fast.

"Very good."

Mother was happy to see my progress but there was a hint of little sadness in her eyes, probably because of pushing her 4 years old son to do this kind of exercise.

She then didn't do much exercise with me and wore her robe.

"Go and wash up with Sidri. I will try to make time for King so that he could teach you some of magecraft."

I smiled and nodded. This poultry training was something very common in my previous life but magic is something new and I was very excited to learn.

I heard from mother and they said that father was one of the most versatile mages in this kingdom a little behind a certain rosy playboy. I didn't know who he was neither was I interested.

Soon Sidri led me to the bathroom and placed me on a small wooden bathtub. She also first removed her upper clothes and folded her bottom wear so they won't become wet. There was no soap but she applied a greenish mixture on me.

"What is that liquid?"

I asked Sidri who was washing me carefully with tinted cheeks. She is always cautious around me like she is protecting a frail glass. She is not at fault since I am very cute.

"This is called Neem paste (Azadirachta indica, commonly known as neem, nimtree or Indian lilac, is a tree in the mahogany family Meliaceae. It is one of two species in the genus Azadirachta, and is native to the Indian subcontinent) mix with dried ingredients including mana cores. These are the leaves of trees that grew here. It provides a cool and freshening sensation."

I know about Neem but had no idea about other things but it was giving me a good feeling.

Anyway, I enjoyed the bath while Sidri was washing me with soft hands. It was also the first time that someone touched my little brother after I gained consciousness.

After preparing me for magic lessons, she led me to a library-like room. It was filled with books. Although they weren't that much like an actual library and considering that paper is still luxury, they were like a national treasure.

"Yes, they are national treasures."

I heard a voice and saw father entering my room. He seemed genuinely happy, both for teaching me about magic and escaping from his duties.

"Well, then I guess I have to teach you about magic huh? You should be lucky that king is your teacher."

"It is my pleasure, father."

"You have become more polite and your talking style has also improved."

He smiled and then we both sat on stools.

"Now then, here is the thing…"

He then started to teach me about the magic system of this world.

First of all, the conversation of mana, which is an invisible and intangible force in the human body, into whatever you imagine, is called magic. The practice is called magecraft and the person using magic in any sort of way is called mage, magician, or caster, in case he is solely reliant on spells without close combat.

Mana is something that is everywhere including your body however converting the mana through your imagination into visible force is what makes you a mage but the capability of doing so only a few people possess.

There are two ways that you could contain mana in your body. One is having magic circuits and the other is a magic core.

Magic circuits are something only a few people have and it is mostly inherent Just like in the Fate franchise. You can also develop your magic circuits with a help of a wizard. You could strengthen your body through magic and control over your spells is 10 times better.

The magic core is something that you could develop after hours of absorbing mana from the surrounding. It is like a stretchable jar where you have to pour water and emptied it then repeat the process until the jar started to explain. However, control over it is extremely hard as you have to learn spells to understand the process than mentally controlling it like a person with magic circuits.

There is one single demerit that separates magic circuits from the magic core that is a person with magic circuits still use magic for a day if there is no mana in the air or the opponent is using a debuff but it is not possible for someone with the magic core.

Then comes spell casting. Every element of this world could be considered spirits. Spells like special words are commands for these spirits who use the mana in your body to perform magic in any way you want.

"You have to use a wand or staff for safety measures like this." He held a golden wand in his hand and cast a spell [Fire]

A small ball of fire started to glow in the tip of his wand.

"Wahh!"

My eyes gleamed with excitement when I saw science defying phenomenon.

"Try it. If what I am thinking, you could do that too." He said and gave me another silver wand with a crystal on the top of it.

I nodded and try to imagine the formula of how fire is generated scientifically.

A small yet visible burning orb was formed on the tip of my wand.

"Hahaha, you can already use fire magic on your first time. Good! Excellent!! From now on you can study here whenever you want."

He seemed more excited than me.

"But you have to maintain your schedule."

We heard a feminine voice and saw my mother at the gate.

"It is time for dinner boys."

We both smiled but before I could move, father took me in his arms and lifted me.

"I am your father so I also have the right to carry my child, no?" He said and smiled. I felt a little weird that another man is carrying me but I felt happy in my heart and then we went for dinner.

That was my first day of training.

Thanks for the support. I asked previously about new kingdoms but I am not knowledgeable about warcraft. It would be better for me write about something that is related to anime than games. Btw I would add elf or dwarf but only beastmen lore will be part of the story. Thinking about making Sheba the main queen.
