Keitel staggered unsteadily to his feet and loomed over Lucia. His palm slammed down heavily on the door behind. 

He was so close Lucia could feel his breath on her neck. She shuddered. His hair escaping over his eyes, he looked down on Lucia. Keitel's face was slightly red.
"I said get out." He breathed.

Lucia stared back into his piercing blue eyes unwaveringly. Keitel sniffed and pulled in close. His skin brushed against Lucia's cheek. His hot breath tickled her ear.

"You really had me fooled." He whispered. "Is this still part of your game?"

Lucia tried to move away. His other hand came down on the door...

Michael was busy working in his study. It had been a week since Lucia's departure and he was eager to do his own investigation. The Emperor had tasked him with strengthening the Capital's defences. A sentiment easier said than done. He had tried to persuade Albaric to be of some use. However, he was determined to set off after the others.

Michael had tried to convince him unsuccessfully to remain in the capital. It was only when the Emperor had to expressly step in and prevent Albaric from going, that any progress had been made. After sulkily offering some guidance on the city's defence, ALbaric had disappeared and Michael didn't see him again for the rest of the evening.

"Useless!" Michael exhaled, slamming one of the old tombs shut.

He was about to give up for the night when he heard a noise down below.
