Sitting at the table just after having dinner Atlas asked, "so who won the competition this time?"
"HAHAHA it was me Artemis!" Shouted Artemis while laughing at a demoralized looking Apollo.
"Shut up it was just one match I won the last one!" Apollo shot back while looking annoyed.
"Ugh, how did you know my only weakness!" Artemis mocked holding her chest like she was in pain.
Callista just sat there and watched the whole thing while giggling.
It was when Atlas turned back to Callista to ask about her birthday that he heard a calm monotone voice.
[30 minutes until the initialization please prepare and protect yourselves.]
"What? Am I hallucinating?" Atlas muttered.
"You heard that too?" his dad said looking puzzled.
"Yeah."
"How about you guys?" Atlas asked everyone else sitting at the table. They all nodded in response.
It was then that a purple hologram looking screen showed up in front of all of them.

"What is this?"
"Honey, please go take Calli and check how long the food in the house can last. Calli please go with your mother." Sebastian said in a solemn tone after hearing the monotonous voice. He turned to the twins and said, "I need you two to go find 4 backpacks and go to everyone's room and bring a couple pairs clothes that are easy to move in. Make sure to bring things like underclothes and a pair of runners for everyone." He turned to Atlas and said, "Come with me."
No one knew what was going on, but they had enough trust in him to follow instructions.
"Dad what is going on?" Atlas asked as he followed him into the basement.
"I'll explain to everyone once we get upstairs, for now help me look around for all the weapons we have, guns, bows, knives and check if we have any traps and snares."
20 minutes later the entire family gathered in the living room again with all the information and everything their dad told them to bring.
"Dad, what is happening? Why do we need all this stuff?" Apollo asked with a nervous expression he has never seen his dad looking this serious.
"I don't know if this is the exact situation, but I have seen way to many novels and shows with scenarios like this. You all still have that status screen and timer in your vision, right?"
"Dad, are you trying saying this is like those apocalypse shows, with zombies and things like that?" Artemis asked with a puzzled look on her face.
He nodded and continued to explain, "We have about 10 minutes left so listen closely. We are going to stay here in this house, we have about two weeks of food left, when that timer ends if anything comes, we are going to try to spend a week here securing the house and the area around it to keep us safe. Afterwards if it is safe enough we will try to find food in stores or buildings near here. If anything comes in this house Atlas, I need you and the twins to end them, I will protect your mom and sister. You three are the most physically fit and although I still know how to use a gun let's try to avoid using them because of the noise."
He looked nervous as he glanced at Atlas, "Can you do it?"
"Yeah," he responded, "Do you know what this screen is? It looks like something from a video game."
"Look at this it even has levels like an actual game! If I level up will I get stronger? HA, Apollo will never win an archery contest again HAHAHAHA!" Artemis laughed her head off while looking at Apollo.
Apollo looked at her appalled while asking, "How can you even laugh in a situation like this?"
"What do you mean we go hunting with Atlas all the time, how is this any different?"
"You're crazy," he said chuckling at how carefree she was.
Although unexpected, Arty managed to alleviate the tension in the room.
"But honey, what is this skill section? Does everyone else have inspect level 1?" Grace suddenly interjected looking in the air in front of her. It looked like she was reading her status screen. "Inspect!" she called out.
"Oh! I can see a small status for Calli. It shows her name, age, gender and level."
"Does it only work on people?" Atlas asked as he picked up a hunting knife, "Inspect"
