Over A Fence

The only thing I could hear was the rapid beating of my heart against my chest. 

I don't know if I heard correctly or if I was starting to get ear problems. 

But either it was true or not, I couldn't help but gape at him surprised and speechless.

"W-what?" I stuttered. 

"I like you." He repeated and I stumbled on my feet. 

He holds his hand out to help me but I put a hand up. 

"I'm sorry." I managed to mutter. "It's just that...." I take in a deep breath. "Just that...." Another deep breath. 

"It's shocking isn't it?" He asks and I nod. 

"A little." 

It's more than a little!!!

I mean cold blooded Matt Harper just said he likes me. 

I think I'm going to start hyperventilating any second now. 

"Want me to drive you to school?" He asks, changing the subject.

What?

Ah... School. 

I had forgotten I was rushing there earlier. 

"R-right." 

"You look a little lost."
