That Disciple Won’t Dare To Retrieve The Sword

It was late at night. The land was quiet. The winter rain that had been pouring down the whole day finally ceased.

The bright moon shone, casting a silvery, clear light over the rain-soaked black roof tiles.

Due to Ni Wen's performance in the imperial examination, her family had moved into a new house.

The oil lamp flickered as Ni Wen and her mother sat together. Ni Wen's mother had especially slaughtered a chicken and made chicken soup in order to strengthen her body.

Ni Wen's mother kept asking her whether she found cultivation tiring. Ni Wen lowered her head and drank the soup. During the time she had spent in the Sword Guild, her personality had changed. She became much livelier. However, she reverted to her quiet self in her mother's presence.

Her mother picked up a chicken thigh and placed it in her bowl. Then, she ladled more soup for Ni Wen. As she got more soup for Ni Wen, she spoke hesitantly, "Your father has come looking for you."
