Chapter 19: In the World, Who Does Not Know You?

"Ha ha."

Li Ruqi was amused by Wu Power, covering her mouth as she laughed.

"You're quite slippery, aren't you? There must be a lot of girls chasing you at school, right?"

Wu Power nodded, "There are quite a few."

"No girlfriend?" Li Ruqi asked.

"None."

"Is it because you're too picky, or have you already broken up?"

Wu Power smiled, "I've never been in one, my mind isn't on that."

"Oh?" Li Ruqi was curious, "So where is your mind then?"

"Before, my mind was all on practicing boxing. Now, well..." Wu Power paused.

"Now what?" Li Ruqi pressed on.

"Now, I only have one thought."

"What's that?"

"To achieve recognition by all before the age of thirty."

Li Ruqi was taken aback. Wu Power spoke these words with a calm tone, his eyes didn't carry the gleam of high spirits or fighting spirit but bore a sense of composure and confidence; it seemed to him as though it was a given.

"Recognition by all," Li Ruqi murmured softly, looking at Wu Power, "That's not a goal you can achieve by just becoming an internet celebrity."

Wu Power laughed, "One has to eat their meals one bite at a time."

If Wu Power had said this to Li Ruqi in the tone of an adolescent boy, she would have taken it as mere boasting, but instead, his tone and demeanor made her somewhat believe he was serious.

"So, you want me to report on your challenge, knocking on doors?" Li Ruqi suddenly asked, looking at Wu Power.

Wu Power was taken aback, then nodded, "Yes."

Li Ruqi laughed, "I'm just a journalist; I can't report whatever I want."

Seeing that she seemed to be reconsidering, Wu Power quickly said, "I'm streaming on Mo Yin, and you're a journalist for Today's Headlines. Plus, my issues with Ren Donglai have been pretty hot on Mo Yin recently. The chance of reporting on my visit to spar should be pretty high, right?"

Li Ruqi nodded, "You make sense, I'll think about it."

Wu Power casually spread his hands, "It's fine, I already said, I'll accompany you on your trip."

Li Ruqi looked at Wu Power, then nodded, "Alright."

Perhaps not wanting to travel alone, Li Ruqi ultimately agreed to Wu Power's request, and of course, Wu Power's good looks were a major factor.

Wu Power smiled and said no more.

In fact, with his current level of fame, finding some local media in Qi City would also have a good chance of getting the matter reported. However, for one, Today's Headlines has a little more influence; and secondly, Mo Yin is a subsidiary of Today's Headlines, so having Today's Headlines report it would have a bigger impact on Ren Donglai, who makes his living on Mo Yin.

Lastly, Wu Power felt that an ordinary journalist wouldn't fly first class, nor possess a temperament like Li Ruqi's. He sensed that Li Ruqi's identity might be out of the ordinary, so he wanted to persuade her to report on the matter.

Perhaps due to some fatigue, Li Ruqi didn't speak for the remainder of the flight, resting with her eyes closed, and Wu Power didn't try to make conversation either; they both remained silent until the plane landed.

An air hostess came over to collect the paper cups they had used for drinking water. When Wu Power handed her his cup, she suddenly slipped a small paper note into Wu Power's hand, then smiled at him before turning away.

Wu Power opened the note in his hand, which had a phone number written on it.

"Tsk tsk," Li Ruqi, who had also seen this, remarked, "Quite the charmer, aren't you."

"Ha ha." Wu Power also laughed, slipping the note into his trouser pocket while speaking, "Maybe it's because I was sitting in first class."

Just being handsome might not win over a flight attendant, but being handsome, sitting in first class, and being so young—perfect high-wealth-and-status template—significantly increases the odds of catching a flight attendant's interest.

"What's next on the agenda?" Wu Power asked.

Li Ruqi was putting on her down jacket as she replied, "I've booked a hotel, wanna join?"

Wu Power looked surprised, "We can do that together?"

Li Ruqi gave him a look, too lazy to bother with him, and got up to disembark.

Twenty minutes later, the two were sitting in a taxi, en route to the hotel.

Maybe it was due to Wu Power being a college student, Li Ruqi didn't guard herself much against him. Of course, good looks mattered too, had it been an uglier guy proposing to travel with her, the treatment surely wouldn't be the same.

"Let's contact each other by phone tomorrow morning."

Upon arrival at the hotel, Li Ruqi had a reservation and quickly checked in. She waved her phone at Wu Power and then turned towards the elevator.

Wu Power nodded, handing his ID to the reception, "Hello, a single room, please."

"Good evening, sir, what kind of room would you like? We have business suites available for 1099 and deluxe suites for 1880," the receptionist said with a smile.

"Holy shit!" Wu Power cursed inwardly; he had noticed upon entry that the hotel was star-rated, but he hadn't expected such unfriendly prices.

"This chick is definitely not your average journalist!" Wu Power winced in pain as he took out his phone to scan the code, "I'll take a business suite."

...

By the time he had checked in, it was already 11:30 pm. Wu Power checked his account balance—the trip had been quite expensive—and he hesitated over whether to start a livestream to make some money at this time.

"Why aren't you livestreaming tonight?"

Suddenly, his phone buzzed with a WeChat message from Zhang Jia'er.

Why did this girl always like to message him in the middle of the night? Wu Power found it tricky to handle, considering he had already returned the favor previously. He knew about Wang Xuecheng's feelings towards Zhang Jia'er, which was why he didn't want to get too close to her.

"Had some stuff to deal with, so I didn't stream."

"Are you worried about Ren Donglai's issue?"

"No."

"Did you watch today's match?"

"Yes, I watched. I'm a bit sleepy, going to sleep now, goodnight."

Zhang Jia'er: "???"

In a girls' dormitory miles away, Zhang Jia'er furiously pummeled her pillow.

If Wu Power was just a slightly famous streamer, she wouldn't be so eager, but seeing as Wu Power was also so handsome, and that video where he took down six thugs all by himself went viral, reinforcing her image of him as a righteous and chivalrous hero, that's why she shed her reserve and eagerly sought to chat with Wu whenever he went live.

The truth was even though Zhang Jia'er had promoted Wu Power's video, she was fully aware that it would have gone viral even without her help. If anything, she had gained publicity from Wu Power, gaining a significant number of followers from the collaboration video and even more from their live streaming session. So in reality, she felt grateful to Wu Power.

Zhang Jia'er reaching out to Wu Power was also her hoping for a chance to gain more followers, yet what she got was another "goodnight."

"Jerk, I'm not contacting you again!" Zhang Jia'er said indignantly, wanting to block Wu Power immediately but hesitated after clicking twice.

"What if he really goes to bed at this time every day? Maybe I should try talking to him during the day next time?" she comforted herself, ultimately not deleting Wu Power and went to sleep filled with hope.
