A little testing

Seating with his long legs crossed in the river of blood the black blood separated into twenty different portions that, with his command, turned into twenty different humongous nightmarish creatures full of power, a single wisp of their aura enough to drive even strong hunters to utter despair.

Slowly the two black eyes of his soul closed at the time as the black eyes of his body opened, overlapping the two different places for a second.

Once again the same simple thought that always appeared in his mind when he finished training, came to his mind "My understanding its too shallow"

He looked at his dad by the door, who had his arms crossed with a small smile on his face. Dean said "Impressed? Unfortunately if feel like 20 is my limit"

Brian said "You do know not even B ranks can do 10 rank E spells at the same time right?"

Getting up Dean said "Its not like I am aiming for B rank. And if they trained hard they could easily learn to do 10 spells at the same time, Its not that hard."

Brain said "Don't say that in front of any mage, they will try to hang you alive. Now go take a shower, we are going to eat out"

On an open restaurant, with many people at the tables, a half-sheep waiter just took Dean family order. Sarah asked "So how was your first day at high-school Dean"

Dean said "Boredom and some more boredom then I met and elf who made me want to hit my head against a wall. So little worse than before"

Emily said with a little laugh "I saw that, it was Haruto Yamamoto daughter. One of the famous kids at school, he couldn't even use his sorry I don't like talking while I eat strategy."

Sarah asked, highly interested in the subject "So how was she? Finally going to make some friends?"

Dean rolled his eyes and said "She was obviously talking to me because her dad asked, 'its true that you won almost 5 national tournaments?'. First time I heard someone mention their dad every time they open their mouth"

Brian laughed then said "Get used to it, with your talent there will be no rest to this after your evaluation. You can still give up if still want"

Ignoring completely what his father said, Dean asked "So are we really going tomorrow?"

Brain said "Yes, your mom and mine raid group are still together and they agreed to help, if you do well they will let you join. At the morning we will go buy your equipment then go meet them"

With his arms up in the air Dean said "Yesss, no school"

Sarah said angrily "You are still going to school even if you pass our test, and you better keep your grades above 9"

Dean just responded with a "Sure" while looking to the side, his sister shaking her head.

Early in the morning Dean left with his parents to the more rich part of the town, where the huge skyscrapers where concentrated. They stopped by a parking lot of a big five floors high building, the drawing of an anvil, with a wolf engraved on it, and a hammer on a big sign at the entrance.

As they got out of the car Dean said "Are you sure about this, I can hear your wallets screaming from here"

Brian shook his head and said "Lesson number one: Good equipment will save your life, don't save your money. Beside you will pay us back anyway"

Inside the shop neatly decorated weapons and armors where at display behind a protective glass.

An elf dressed in a suit, his hand clasping each-other, working as a salesman came to them as soon as they walked thru the door, he said with a smile on his lips, "Welcome, how can I help you today?"

Brian said "I am looking for some armor and a magic catalyst for this boy"

Before the salesman said anything Dean added "And a short sword"

The salesman said "Of course, please come with me to the second floor. We keep the things for hunters there".

Following the elf to the second floor he quickly noticed that most of the weapons and armors at display where less decorated than the ones below, but it was easy to tell their quality was superior, especially because of the formations written at them.

The salesman said "Most of the weapons at display are out of the price range for our normal costumers. If you give me a minute I will bring some pieces from our storage."

Seeing that his son was a little bothered about how the elf refereed to them Brian put his hand on Dean shoulder and said "Don't get offended, their normal client are at least at the middle of B rank. They look a bit simple but some of this are worth more than our house."

Seeing the elf walking out of the backroom they approached the long counter, close where some other costumers where doing business.

The salesman put the things in the counter and first pointed at the short sword, made of crystal like material, and said "This is one of the best c rank short sword we have, its made of the horn of crystal lizard, it has a C rank sharpening and unbreaking formation. But since it was made by one of our new blacksmith its price is lower than normal."

He them pointed at a black finger-less glove, made of a black leather with a complex reflective silver formation of top of it, the elf said "This is a c rank mana catalyst, its made of simple D rank imp leather, but the concentration formation on it is B rank material."

He then pointed at the robe, made of a thick tree bark material and leather on the inside, he said "This one was made by an apprentice of ours, this A rank ent bark was mistakenly put together with their training materials. But fear not it was appraised by one of our master smiths before being sent here, the defense is B rank, but since it doesn't have the mark of master smith its in C rank armor price.

Well this is the best we have for an acceptable price"

Dean took a good look at the equipment then asked "Do you mind if I do a little testing?"
