A night at the arena

His body was bathed in an extremely refreshing feeling, Black roots where coming out of his soul and connecting with his body, strengthening it with a special spirit qi his soul produced.

When stone once full of spirit qi ended so did his training. The demonic sapling in the grounds looked like they barely grew nothing, but nothing happened in this world without he noticing, he could clearly feel their pumping spirit qi into his body.

Seated in the river of blood in his demonic form Dean thought "Interesting, this place is full of surprises"

Coming back to real like he looked at the two gray stones on his hand and thought "My mental energy is growing nicely as well, last time I couldn't even finish this o".

Interrupting his thoughts the laud laugh of Reggie came from his room, accompanied by the less loud laugh of Mary and Eva.

Dean thought "Here I thought Reggie was controlling himself quite well, if he interrupts someone on an important moment he will be in some big trouble.

Now what should I do, its already the afternoon, so I missed the midday meal, if I try cultivating again there is a good chance I will miss the night meal too. I don't feel hungry but is not good for me to not be eating, don't think spirit qi can replace food.

Hmm, I am not really in a talkative mood, well I rarely really am excited to talk about something. I could check the arena some people where talking about yesterday, if the hunter fights where interesting then here they must be amazing, then I can call Reggie and the other to watch"

Decided Dean got up and went out, now that he was alone he appreciated the beauty of the clean streets and the clean hair, thanks to the lack of any car that ran on gas.

Asking for direction along the way, he soon reached more crowded streets, which became even more crowed the closer he got to the huge arena tower.

The just the clear area around the arena, to let people walk freely around it, had more width than three alchemist guilds put side to side, yet it still was crowed with people.

He looked to the sky, not even been able to see the top of the arena, and thought "It must have took a century to make something so huge".

As he walked towards the entrance he at a few times had to stop and open way to people wearing high quality clothes with the sect golden lion crest stamped somewhere very visible.

It wasn't his first time seeing an inner sect disciple, who where basically big celebrities, in the sect, yet it was the first time he saw how much the people respected and feared them at the same time, some even lusted for them.

It was at times like this he remembered this place was basically a lawless land, where the weak should fear and respect the strong.

He easily managed to enter in one of the free fights of disciples at the peak of mortal rank. In a few seconds his eyes was where opened wide in astonishment, the words incredible, amazing and extraordinary screamed so loud in his mind that he even said them out loud without noticing.

He already knew that there was difference in power between cultivators and hunters, but he never imagined it would so huge. Just in bodily strength and speed the cultivators could crush any hunter.

They moved so fast that even with his eyes, which he thought where incredible before, could barely accompany them. Spells, at power levels that hunter mages took many seconds in full concentration to cast, where done in seconds without the use of any rune formation.

But out of everything that surprised Dean, it was the amount of inspiration and knowledge he gained watching people with the same affinity fighting, as if was a sponge absorbing all of it in.

Before he knew he had already lost himself watching the fights, cheering loudly with the crowd, after a few fights he even used his precious lion points to bet in the fights and buy himself food and drinks.

Only when exhaustion finally hit his body and the adrenaline stopped kicking in, did he come back to being himself. He said goodbye to the two friends he made, both of them being inner sect disciple, and walked out of the arena with the 547 points he made betting.

Seeing the morning sun that just started coming up from the horizon, he thought groggily "Damn, its already morning. Fuck I am actually drunk, its been what fourteen years since I got drunk hehehe. I really need some sleep right now and a shower."

Thankfully for Dean and all the other drunk people, all the inner sect disciples liked to let their domineering aura out, the sense of danger that they felt from it sobered them up for a few seconds.

Almost getting lost and falling on the ground a few times on his way, Dean safely reached the dolphin inn. Reggie, Eva and Mary where eating breakfast, getting very surprised to see Dean walking like he would fall at any second.

Reggie was the first to go up and help Dean, he said "Dean? What happened to you? Are you drunk?"

Dean said "Very drunk, hey look I was carrying a bottle this whole time. There still a little, man life is good full of nice surprises. This beer is amazing you don't feel like puking even if you drink a lot and man how did I drink"

Not asking anything else Reggie just helped Dean up the stairs and into his bedroom, where he immediately jumped on his bed saying "Thanks buddy" as he fell asleep right after.

Like any other time he slept he instantly became the giant four armed demon. Completely sober He thought "I should be more careful with this fancy alcohol, actually went a little overboard today, if I told my parents I don't think they would believe me, but it was fun. I actually made some money".
