Yami was late for the meeting. He had to stay up late and give all the demi-humans head-pats for their hard work. They had not only gotten a lot stronger through their training, but built up Paradise as well. Now it had fields and a town with houses. The golems really helped with the manual labour and Yami was sure that after the time in SAO, Paradise would become a decent city. He still needed to figure out how to use electricity in his soul world but he first needed to get books about technology and architecture to understand how to build a real city. Eve told him that he should be able to find such things in the shop, but as Yami knew himself, he would take a long time to scroll through the whole shop and Eve already told him that it was massive. Just like the rest, he would do that after coming to the second floor.
Procrastination is great!
And he found out that his new skill was really toooooo OP. Just after one head-pat from his Wholesome God-Hands and they were absolutely addicted to it. Their effort to improve and get praised and "rewarded" again had doubled once again. Their determination was something that now even the greatest fanatics in Yami's old world could come close to.
Yami-sama! Their God.
He of course also spent some time with Esdeath, Mikasa and Tsunade the moment he came. His Waifus came first!
However, now that he was already late, Eve's voice told him something that would make sure that he might even miss the meeting in its entirety.
{Yami, I have a message from Tsunade.}
Indeed, it was now possible to send messages from Paradise to Yami and from Yami to a person in Paradise. Although it still needed Eve as a kind of middleman.
"What is it? Not the whole message, just the important part please."
Yami was still sprinting towards the place where the meeting was held, but the had already slowed down a bit. He wouldn't be messaged if it wasn't something important.
{It appears that Raphtalia as well as the demihumans are undergoing "evolution" after reaching 100 affection because of your head patting session.}
Without much hesitation Yami changed the direction he was heading and ran into a backstreet without any players nearby and planned to teleport to Paradise.
The wellbeing of the cute "furry-heaven" was way more important than taking part in a meeting. He was positive that he could join the raid even if he wasn't present previously. Why would they reject another helping hand?
"Oh right."
Yami sent a quick message to Asuna which told her that he would be late because he was caught up in something.
After that he instantly teleported into Paradise.
He appeared and could already see Esdeath ready to report to her master.
He nodded at her and she told him that after they gathered to make a kind of "prayer" to their god, Yami, they all suddenly fell unconscious. Luckily Tsunade knew about the process and instead of panicking the girls took them to the town and sent the message to Eve, who then told Yami.
{Don't worry, their evolution won't take long, maybe a day or two… depends on how fast i can meet all of them…}
The last part was rather her talking out loud, but Yami had already guessed that Eve would use the evolution to talk with the given girl who was undergoing it. The time she took to talk everything through with Tsunade might even have been the reason why the evolution was that long. Two women could really talk for a long time…
Yami still went to see Raphtalia who was laid in a bed next to most of the other girls. He created a blanket for each of them. They all looked really cute and adorable with their innocent sleeping-faces. He gave each of them a short snu snu and each of their expressions got more happy.
[The constellation "Furry-heaven" is having a nosebleed at this great sight.]
{I'm going to be a bit busy my dear husband, but I'm going to make it up to you.}
Yami didn't really know what she meant by the second part of her sentence but just teleported back thinking that Eve would only do something that would benefit him.
But it seemed that he was severely underestimating his wife. After the talk with Eve, the demihumans worship, affection and faith would transcend the realm of probability. Eve was really terrifying, luckily she was the perfect waifu that belonged to Yami and only him alone.
While Eve started her own "crusade" to share the greatness of Yami-sama with the demi-humans, Yami was again running towards the meeting.
[The constellation "Yami-sama" is cheering for the holy pope of the greatest of all religions. She demands the conversion of all the heretics!]
Yami was just confused by this message. What pope? But he found it strange as well, that God said that a religion other than her own was the greatest. And what about the conversion of heretics? Did she want him to start a crusade? Proselytization?
He decided to not think about it more. It wasn't like he thought of himself as a god, but he didn't mind if the demi-humans wanted to see him as such. He knew how devoted followers of a religion were and having such a religion in Paradise only had advantages. They worked very hard to build their own civilization to please their "god" and showed their usefulness and loyalty.
After two more minutes of sprinting Yami arrived at the place where the meeting was held. It seemed that the meeting was already mostly finished.
"Fuck it, group up."
Yami directly found the figures of Asuna and Alice, both of them were sitting together. Kirito was a bit away from them and looking at them, he was probably thinking whether to try to group up with them or not.
He looked around and another person caught his eye or rather, two.
(This isn't a boss meeting, that is a waifu gathering!)
Meanwhile Kirito and Asuna had their small back and forth of jabs. The world really didn't let any of the lines go, even if it didn't even make sense…
Alice noticed Yami coming towards them while Asuna was still preoccupied.
"Wow. You certainly... speak from the heart."
"Funny, I thought I was speaking from my mouth. But, eh, shows what I know about biology."
"No one else wanted you in their group, did they?"
"Shut up! It was mutual!"
Yami now stood behind both of them while smiling a bit after hearing the quotes.
"We need six players anyway, why not let him join?"
Asuna now turned to Yami as well, she had a face that told him that she had something to ask him. Whether it was about why Yami was late or why he wanted Kitiro to join, he didn't know.
"And who are you?"
Kirito asked. He didn't really understand why this guy that suddenly came from behind them and asked the two ladies in front of him to let him join. Was he the leader? And more importantly, was he an idiot like most of the players around him?
"I'm the person who is inviting you into a party since nobody else wants you. Isn't that deduction quite simple, Sherlock."
Without waiting for Kirito's comeback Yami just sent him the party invite.
"Why do I feel like you are challenging me?"
It seemed that as a "protagonist" Kirito instinctively felt challenged by the "new protagonist".
"What's wrong, McFly? Chicken?"
Both of them started at each other. Kirito looked at the screen in front of him and moved his hand towards it while responding.
"There can only be one."
Kirito pushed the button after their brief exchange of quotes. But he couldn't help but mutter:
"why do i feel like i'm being played…"
Now the party consisted of Yami, Asuna, Alice and Kirito. Yami decided that it would be for the best if he directly went to the other two to make a party of six.
"You two look like you don't have a group yet, we are four already, how about you join us?"
Such a normal approach was probably the best. The blonde and blue haired girls turned towards Yami.
Indeed, they were the other important female characters in SAO; Leafa and Sinon. It seemed that both of them were in the death game as well and had teamed up.
There wasn't really a reason for the two of them to reject, more teammates meant better chances.
""Sure.""
Yami invited them as well and they both pressed the button.
(That was… easy?)
[The constellation "The negotiations were short" is comparing the length of time this took to the length of Ichika from IS. and came to a shocking conclusion.]
Yami didn't want to raise any more flags and instantly walked back to Alice and Asuna.
In the meantime Diabel was finally able to end this clown show of a "strategy meeting". Tomorrow they would go into the dungeon and fight the boss.
He just hoped that the fight would be like the anime and not like in Abridged, if that were the case he didn't have any confidence that the players could beat the game. Especially if they all just played Bejeweled!
[The constellation "IDIOTS!" is telling you that this is your first world and he wouldn't set the difficulty to nightmare.]
(Yeah, beating this game if all players were bad at this game would really be difficulty nightmare.)
Most of the players scattered and Yami didn't plan on building a big relationship with the new characters yet. He first needed to get closer to Asuna and Alice before he would handle Leafa and Sinon. He also wanted to first observe them a bit more to understand them better, he needed to know if they were like in the original or different.
(I have heard that "the bond forged through battle is stronger than anything". Maybe it isn't all that wrong since I'm going to fight alongside them tomorrow… Well, let's see about that.)
Leafa and Sinon had left together already and Kirito didn't know how to act around other people since he was socially awkward, because of that only Yami, Asuna and Alice were still together.
After Alice proposed with shining eyes to go to the cafe from yesterday once more the other two agreed. They were currently sitting at a table and ordering. Yami's capitalistic heart was bleeding as Alice ordered everything that was on the menu. He would need to work hard to keep up with the expenses that the blond haired glutton knight was going to generate.
(I'm the one with the Gluttony skill, not you!)
Their orders came and Alice started to devour the cakes with great vigor. The whole table was already filled with food and tea but Yami didn't know how long it would last and whether Alice would order a second round…
Asuna had already talked a bit with Alice in the time that Yami wasn't there. She decided to just ignore that knight, who was currently looking more like a hamster with her full cheeks, since she wasn't the one who had to pay for her eating habits.
"So, Yami. Why were you late? You just said in your message that something came up and you would be late."
Yami of course couldn't tell her that his furry followers liked and worshipped him so much that they all fell unconscious and started to evolve.
[The constellation "Gotta catch them all" is saying that this pokemon is his favourite and he loves the evolved from even more.]
"I overslept because I was awake for a long time thanks to Alice's over there since she needed a bit of time to eat everything in this shop… 3 times! And also because I got a message from someone else."
During the first sentence Asuna just looked at the human/AI "black hole" that was currently absorbing cake after cake with the happiest expression in her life.
But the moment Yami mentioned "someone else" her head instantly turned to him. It was a bit creepy and he wasn't sure if a normal human neck would be able to do that.
"Is - it - a - girl?"
(This has to be the feared "woman-intuition"! It is really almighty power!)
[The constellation "God is a girl" is nodding at the power she bestowed upon women.]
"Yes."
(It is getting really cold here… But I don't get it, she probably doesn't even like me at the moment, why is she reacting like a high tier yandere? Really, understanding women is hard. That's why I like waifus more than real girls, they are way less complicated and just better.)
Even as the atmosphere around Asuna and Yami approached the point of absolute zero, Alice wasn't at all concerned. Was she just ignoring it? Or was she just too preoccupied?
They stared at each other for three whole minutes. She the howling of the wind and the munching of cakes could be heard.
"Okay."
With that Asuna looked away from him. But he could have sworn to have heard something along the lines of: "I will need to buy a graveyard".
Now that Asuna had her own small goal she needed the funds for her nice little project. And the best way to get that money would be by defeating the boss.
"Yami, do I need to tell you what was said in the "discussion"? It was mostly dumb people screaming anyway."
He shook his head. Hearing a few of the lines again would be funny, but it wasn't necessary. But he was very thankful that Asuna changed the topic didn't stare at him anymore as if she was already planning his burial.
"We should talk a bit about how to fight the boss. Luckily I have a lot of information thanks to the manual players got."
Asuna nodded. We had a short discussion on how to best fight the boss, in the middle of it Alice joined in as well, but she mostly just listened and rarely said something on her own.
They were tasked to keep the disposable pawn monsters of the boss away from the disposable pawn players that would attack the boss.
There wasn't much to discuss, after their short "training" together, Asuna didn't have any monsters to fear on the first floor. Alice was a highly skilled knight with overpowered gear. And Yami could probably go sword to axe with the boss himself if there were no guards. He would need a lot of time but if he always dodged, defleflected and countered he could likely do it, although it would need a lot of time and any slip-ups would mean death.
"I have been meaning to ask, but you are a really good player, you can easily defeat any monster and you know a lot about the game. Are you a beta-tester?"
Asuna had been wondering, Yami had "guided" her for the past few days and now that she heard the idiotic words of Kibaou she came to the conclusion that it would make sense if Yami was a beta-tester.
"Me? Nope, I'm not. I know a lot about the game since my friend was actually a beta-tester and told me a lot about it. As for why I'm so good at fighting, that's because in contrast to most players, I have experience in fighting and swordsmanship since I had already trained in that before I came to SAO. And I have spent the last three to four weeks battling the mobs on this floor. I'm not one of the beta-testers, but because of the aforementioned things, you could see me as such. Not like I really care, beta-testers are just better players and in contrast to the new players, they should be able to help with clearing the floors since they can get stronger faster. But since the beta-testers weren't able to reach a high floor, their advantage will be gone after some time and they need to work hard if they want to survive."
Asuna was now a bit curious about his "friend" and about Yami's backstory. She guessed that this friend was the same one who sent him a message.
After that they talked a bit more and left the cafe. And a lot of money left Yami's balance.
They would meet up tomorrow with the other players and the new party members.
- - -
He looked after the demi humans and spent the rest of the day together with Esdeath, Mikasa and Tsunade. Especially Tsunade since they would share their first night after the boss fight.
This time Yami didn't sleep outside of Paradise but inside since Tsunade had offered to let him sleep on the famous lap pillow! Of course he immediately agreed. She was now really a great onee-san.
Since he would be fighting a boss tomorrow he wanted to get some sleep and didn't stay up late. Well, because of the laziness of the other players they would meet up in the afternoon but he still wanted to get some good sleep. What sleep could be better than one while laying on a lap pillow from a great oneesan!

"Okay, so there were a few more stairs than we realized. Apparently real life athletic ability translates into the game. Good to know."
Yami and the other players had finally arrived in front of the bossroom. He didn't really fight himself but let the other players and the waifus battle the mobs since he wanted to know how good they were. And he had to say, he was relieved. The players weren't as bad as he thought them to be after hearing about their idiocy in Abridged. It seemed that he didn't need to carry the whole thing and that they could actually defeat the boss as a team.
Luckily there was no Cheetos and Mountain Dew break either.
Another thing that he found interesting was Sinon since she actually used a bow. He knew that in one of the games Sinon actually came into SAO as well and had a bow, but it didn't make sense that she had a bow. If there were such long ranged weapons, why didn't the players use them?
"Sinon, can I ask something?"
The blue haired and blue eyed girl turned to me. She looked like the ALO version, but sadly she didn't have cat ears… Yami really wanted the demi-humans to wake up soon and cuddle with them! Not only the adorable demi-humans were addicted to his petting and cuddling, he himself enjoyed it very much and there would be a big session after they woke up. A wholesome cuddling session! ONLY WHOLESOME!
"Of course. It is about the bow that I use right?"
Yami nodded. Another thing he found out was that Sinon and Leafa had the same personalities as in the original.
"I myself don't know why I can use a bow if others can't, the skill and item just popped up… I have already tried but nobody else can use it except for me."
(So it is like the dual-wielding skill that Kirito got… It's probably God's doing because Sinon is a long ranged fighter after all and she is really skilled at that. Not like I'm complaining, she is in my party after all… Wait, couldn't I use a bow as well?)
"That's it? Just out of curiosity, could I try it?"
Sinon wasn't dumb enough to give someone else her weapon easily, but since she already knew that other players couldn't even hold the bow she just held the bow out for Yami to take.
He grabbed the bow and under the widening eyes of Sinon he drew the bowstring back as an arrow appeared there. He was wondering where the arrows would come from but they seemed to materialize once the bow is used.
"HOW? After Leafa had first tried it and failed over twelve different players weren't even able to hold the bow, how can you use it?!"
Yami loosened the arrow and flew into a stone wall. He wasn't trained in using a bow but he wasn't bad for a beginner. He then turned back to Sinon and gave her the bow back.
"It's like you, I don't know why. I just wanted to try it and it worked. If you don't mind, could you give me one of the bows and a bit of archery lessons at some point in time? Of course, you would be compensated accordingly."
Sinon was still confused because of the prior events but took back the bow and nodded. She was actually glad that there was someone else who could use a bow. There had been a lot of rumors about her, many strange and bad ones. As far as she knew, she was the only person in the whole game who could use a bow. She had been asked to join a lot of parties but they all just wanted her for the skill. Once she had even overheard a conversation between two hooded figures who hypothesized that if they could gain the skill by killing her.
Her only real friend and companion was Leafa whom she met on her second day and partied up with.
"Okay guys, I hope you have finished your preparations! We are going to fight this boss and clear the first floor! We will show them that this game can be beaten!"
The players cheered at the short speech and Diabel was definitely able to raise their morale a bit.
[The constellation "God-father" is thinking about the "Canon".]
(Yeah, I have pretty much followed the "canon" of the story until now… But isn't that just boring? You wanted to see something interesting instead of just the anime once again right, God? Why do I need to follow the same path if I can make my own one? Yes, I are going to fuck the original series and just do my stuff, more interesting, right?)
[The constellation "Don't forget children - Prevention is important!" is saying that he likes this fuck almost as much as the one that will take place after the bossfight. 200 System Points have been sponsored.]

The door to the bossroom slowly opened and all the players including Yami's party poured inside. Yami, Asuna, Alice, Kirito, Sinon and Leafa were at the back because their job was to defeat the guard monsters.
Yami had a smile on his face as he held his sword in hand. He ran towards one of the lights that appeared to his right and before the mob could even finish spawning, it was already cleanly cut through by Yami's sword.
"This is where the fun begins."
