An Urgent Expedition

"Before we go make sure to tell Avin that the food is in the oven alright?" Zeke reminded Magnus who just woke up from sleeping heavily on the couch, he must've been really tired from yesterday.

"Sure boss," he yawned, stretched then rubbed his belly absentmindedly.

"The other two should be waking up in a moment as well, I also cooked for the three of you as well so make sure to leave no leftovers," Zeke said teasing playfully, he knew they wouldn't.

Zeke woke up kind of early, just a minute just before the time of the alarm that he set, seeing that he won't have enough time to get back and catch some more sleep, he decided to just get up and prepare the breakfast. Thinking about what to eat everyday is hard enough by just himself back home, what more could a house inhabited by five now six people? Good thing his boys are kind enough to help him with the dishes, they aren't picky and they do eat out sometimes though very rarely at that.

Anyways, baked potato isn't really that hard to cook, or bake. The cheese that he found sitting inside the fridge should be a shock considering cow who produces them back in his world are lumen here, still there is always some sort of explanation and Magnus said that these cheese are actually harvested from a kind of grubfructus tree that grows cheese specifically, and milk is a a different variant of it, cheese was basically not processed from milk.

So, that was another thing that is different from this world but not so far from reality back in earth. Sadly, the cheese he used for the baked potato is the last hunk of cheese before the town ran out of it so he better end up finding some of its seeds though his expeditions inside the dungeon.

"When did we ever? Heh," Magnus replied, "alright boss, Wulf seems to be already waiting for you awhile outside you better get going now else you want to be late for the meeting."

"Yeah, yeah I'll get going now," Zeke stopped then kissed Magnus' cheek, "thanks for being awesome all the time."

Shocked by the sudden affectionate gesture, Magnus couldn't help but grin stupidly, gently rubbing the area where Zeke had put his soft, warm lips, "anything for you boss."

Zeke smiled warmly, pleased that he could have this kind of relationship with his loving farmhands, that kiss was also a way to show his appreciation towards the big guy. After putting on his sandals he finally went outside to look for Wulfric, the guy must be waiting for a good five minutes now.

Zeke saw Wulfric leaning on a fence built around the fields looking about the farm, the sunlight almost peaking out of the horizon shining everything on its path, the fresh morning breeze of the farm put Zeke in a serene and contented state.

Looking over the guy, the fields of potatoes are still on growing and readying up for the next harvest, they let the fertile land rest for a bit after having the first major harvest just a week ago, so the crops are still quite young at the moment.

Moving over towards the guy he tapped his broad shoulder expecting the guy to somewhat elicit a funny response but unsurprisingly, he didn't get surprised at all.

"Finally, all ready to go?" he asked glancing over at Zeke to see if he's ready.

"Mhm! let's."

The guild was bustling with activity as per usual, although this time it feels like as if the density of people have become twice as much as the last time Zeke was here, it's to be expected since the past three weeks has been nothing but work for him and the boys as well as the entire farmer's guild taking care of everything that needs to be done. Shipping all the produce that the homestead has been sending towards their huge facility inside.

Although he should, Zeke doesn't really understand any of the processing and all that stuff but he's sure that soon he will have to learn all about it. Looking at the request board, it's filled with nothing but request of the fresh crops that had just been harvested a week ago. Seeing the fruits of their labor Zeke could not help but feel proud.

The busy atmosphere was so intense that everyone did not not notice their arrival which is actually a good thing, Zeke wouldn't want to bother them from their work, unfortunately when the both of them have gotten in front of the customer service area, the receptionist was nowhere to be found and a sign that says 'unavailable' was left on top of the desk.

"Well, looks like we're heading straight to the office," Wulfric sighed shaking his head a little, "we should've gone tomorrow instead of today, I didn't realize the rush would still be going until the weekend, I really thought it would at least die down a bit yesterday since it was Friday but—let's just go boss."

"It's alright you wouldn't know," Zeke reassured the guy.

Wulfric gave Zeke a faint smile, "well, if I remember correctly, the guildmaster's office is that way."

Wulfric pointed towards a long hallway that has a huge staircase going up at the end, they started walking careful not to get into anyone's way.

The guildmaster's office was at the third and floor of the huge building, just below to what Wulfric has said to be the rooftop, the modern yet primeval design of the whole establishment meshed so good together that no one would even think that this building functions as a farmer's guild.

The huge door of the guildmaster's office was finally in view and Wulfric, while looking at Zeke knocked on the sturdy, wooden door.

"Come in!"

The booming voice of the Guildmaster can be heard on the other side of the door, Wulfric opened the door and they saw that the Guildmaster was talking to someone through a phone, surprisingly the technology in Loneharv is somewhat less developed than the advancement of technology back home, but they still have the basic stuff like phones and televisions here.

He covered his phone when he saw Zeke and Wulfric while mouthing the words 'I'll be with you guys in just a moment' while gesturing to the chairs in front of his office desk, he then proceeded to continue the conversation with the person on the other end of the phone.

Wulfric looked at Zeke, "let's go sit at those chairs and wait," he whispered.

They went inside the lavish room from standing awkwardly at the entrance of the room, everything inside the room reminds Zeke of someone who likes things to be right where they're supposed to be, someone who likes equilibrium in their life, from the careful assortment of the novels and encyclopedias on the lone bookshelf to the choice of color of the curtains and carpet. It's all coordinated somehow.

"Yes, those shipments are for the General Store beside the Item Shop, they desperately needed a third shipment due to the current demand. Yes, yes of course. No, Ms. Yggdra would want to get her the shipment herself so you should just assign someone to give it to her personally. Yes, that is all thank you."

Godfrey sighed while tiredly settling himself in his comfortable cushiony seat, "I apologize to the both of you, I should've informed Wulfric here that today's going to be hell."

He rearranges his garment and manages to look less haggard that before, "don't worry farmer, we will somehow go push through this ordeal," he cringed indicating that he remembered something fairly recent that annoyed him, "we should've prepared for this kind of volume and outcome—we did but—nevertheless, me ranting is not what you both came here for."

He place both of his arms on the desk while pulling the sleeves of his shirt, "the demand of food from the townspeople keeps on increasing day by day since the harvest last week, suffice to say this week has been hectic and incredibly challenging both as the Guildmaster and head-of-operations for the whole thing."

Zeke and Wulfric both looked at each other then continued listening to the Guildmaster.

"I know you and your farmhands have been working nonstop for the last three weeks to push out the first harvest, and we are ever eternally thankful for it but as you can tell, when you give people a taste of what you can do, they will end up asking and begging for more so now, we must show them that we can keep up with those demands, let's talk about you upcoming expedition."

Godfrey opened a drawer flitting through the files, took out a folder and opened it, "needless to say, there are bound to be people who are going to complain about even the tiniest of things, we usually ignore them but this time even I agree, we are going to need more selection about the resources the we ship. Shipping out potatoes alone isn't going to cut it, we need variations and we need it ASAP."
