THREE

I dash out of the cab I board to the frat house. Once I step outside, I roam my purse for money.

"Here ...You can keep the change, you know, tips." I extend the dollar and wink at him.

"Thanks, Miss, enjoy your Val." he beams at me.

I whirl around immediately he speeds off. I stare at the gigantic building before me. The frat boy's house. An un-fenced beautiful brick house with a chimney, two elm trees with a sidewalk between them which leads to the front porch.

Jeremy is one of them and we met at a party here.

My lips arch a smile. Eventually, I may conk out a full day with him, maybe we can order sushi then drink a few glasses of sparkling wine while watching Netflix at night. The only problem is that I don't want everything to occur at the frat house. Plus, it's Val, the party here tonight will be an overdose.

My smile broadens as the door is only an inch away from me, I neglect the loud music pealing from inside, it is a random song by Drake. I knock breezily and gaze at my feet, my red kitten shoes preserving my pale feet and the red drawstring in my reach, swinging over till the cake inside flashes at me shining desirably. I pout as I look up in defeat, the door is static. I knock again, harder this time. I peep at my wrist for the time.

"8:21 am"

I cut a glimpse of a fresh white rose in a vase, placed on the railing. Who the hell care about flowers? They are all boys here and too wild to think of nursing a rose. I puzzle over who is nursing the flower.

Maybe Josh...

Or Matt,

Ken?

I sigh, not caring about who cares about a rose. I punch again, harder and perpetually. Someone ought to open this damn door for me before I lose my mind. The door unlocks brashly, the enthralling physique of Matt surfaces. His hair, scruffy. His thumb strokes his eyes, as they're refuse comply with the intense thermal. His green yet alien eyes squint as he examines me. The music inside becomes roaring.

"Haley?" he hums.

"Hi...Happy Valentine!" shrieking, I greet him with a decorous vibe, as I nervously hang onto my bag.

"Ha...Valentine, today is really Val." he chuckles, grazing his hair with his hand. I only descry the upper body, which purports, he is either shirtless or naked.

"Mm...Jeremy, Is he in?" I implore, tensely.

Matt is quite gorgeous with his forest green eyes that burns one's soul down in lust, just when you are intertwined in those mixed feelings, a focus of isolation will shove you out. That's who Matt is, Ken will acknowledge it anytime that Matt is a Hitler with a cupid face.

"You got a phone, why didn't you use it?" Plus he is rude, so fucking rude.

The music reduces, just as I'm about replying to him, a voice speaks.

"Who's there, pal?" It isn't Jeremy's.

"Jeremy's little girlfriend." he slurs on the 'girlfriend ' while inspecting me like a newbie.

Jesus! Little girlfriend?

Matt is insane.

"The black hair psychopath?" Fuck Josh.

"Yeah, and you know what Josh, fuck you!" I counter before the grouchy boy can open his mouth. I know right now, my glaring will be sending Matt to his grave, but he didn't show it. Instead, he smirks.

I try to enter, Matt uses his big body to close the door. Just when I think I can try hard not to drool over his tone chest because I have a boyfriend who is more erotic, He comes out to display. So now, if I talk with his full body hovering over me, I will stammer in anger and not lust.

"Woah, woah, easy, girl." he laughs.

Thank Christ, he has some black short on, not stark naked.

"Jeremy isn't in. I'm telling you the truth, why can't you just believe me?" he licks his lips, giving me a flirtatious look.

I scoff.

Believing Matt the first time was the biggest mistake of my life and I won't appreciate falling into same pit again. Maybe this surprise stuff is a bad idea, I should have call Jeremy before leaving home.

"Baby," I hear a feminine voice murmuring low. Inch by inch, I pay attention to the reality. A slender model-like hands swirl round his waist, polished purple nails meeting at the center of his navel. He peeks down and smiles. A wavy blonde hair similar to his, reveals behind him, her head finally pins on his shoulder as she chews something. Ugh! It's Pamela.

"Hey, babe." what a Playboy.

He twists to her, they kiss, very brief. Pamela only had a big shirt on, definitely Matt's.

"What's going on?" She clamors.

He looks at me and I shunt.

"Why not go in and lemme finish up here, huh?" Soon her figure departs.

I blow softly.

Okay, there is something between Matt and me. It's a secret, plus that was the first time I trust him and I was wasted. I made out with Matt when he was still with Tracy, my best friend and I haven't mustered the courage to tell Tracy, up till now that they are not in sync.

"Seriously, Pamela?" I jape, conjoining my arms.

"Mm... it's none of your business." he sneers. Something hit my chest, his word. Yes, he's right. It's none of my business, he's not with Tracy anymore.

The door opens wider and Josh appears, dressed in red pajamas. A grin is plastered on his face as I glare at him.

"Good morning, pumpkin pie." he greets as he winks, friendly at me.

I close my eyes and took a deep breath.

"How many times must I repeat? That my name is Haley!" I scream at him.

I open my eyes to see both of them, gazing at me with horror on their face.

I smile.

"You're truly a psychopath," Matt says, whispering.

"How the hell is Jeremy coping, you're a real drama, Ha... Pumpkin" he smirks, knowing that he has successfully irritated me. His hands are perfectly stocked in the pocket of his pajama pants. I hate him now.

"Where is Jeremy?" I manage to ask between my anger.

"He's not here." Matt finally says, still repeating the lie.

I scrunch my brow in chagrin, are they trying to play with me? The way both of them flag at each other, makes me grasp that something is fishy.

"So, where's he?" I raise my brow in question.

"Ovaries," Josh gives his usual sly smile.

I focus on him in inflammation. These two have never stop annoying me, especially the brown-eyed,

"You know? I thought within the short period of time that we didn't see...that you would have magically breed your sixth sense, but you went astray." I lash out in anger. But instead, the delight on his handsome face brighten, after I just shame his brain.

"Aw, I'm happy to know you care, Haley cares,"

I crimp my lips together in a thin line and review from Matt to Josh.

"Where's Jeremy?" I demand this time.

They are kind of alike. Both has similar features, like their height and hair.

"His uncle's place."

I become surprised by Matt's reply.

Jeremy hates going to his uncle's place. He goes there only on a message, maybe because his sick grandma wants him to go there.

I lean close to the door keeping their eyes within my reach, "is there something I need to know?" I make sure my voice's low.

"What're you talking about, Haley?" Matt's green eyes look confused. I stand straight.

I scoff and look around, I don't know what they're playing at, but they're definitely messing with me. I open the drawstring and bring out my cell phone.

"Oh, oh, there's a c..." I stare icily at Josh before he can finish his statement.

I slide my phone open and look for Jeremy's number, it's so easy to find. He's the last person I spoke with yesterday. I dial his line, placing it softly on my ear while glaring at his friends. It starts to ring, after four rings a voice comes up.

"Hey! This is Jeremy, Sorry I'm not picking... Do you have a message? Say it, I will listen to it when I'm back."

Anger flush through me. I stare at both of them before storming off in anger.

"Not even a bye!" Josh shouts after me as I step down their porch.

I angle my shoulder to get a view of him and show him my middle finger. Still, he smiles. I groan and storm off.
