Twenty-six

 I nod in affirmation. She chews the inner of her mouth and stands upright, she crosses her arm and looks at me straight in the eye.

"I don't know."

"Oh! Really, is this the part where you get to deceive me again?" I throw a question at her.

"I'm not, believe Me." she insists and looks around.

She's definitely lying. I glare at her, "why should I?"

She looks back to me, "huh?"

"I said why should I believe you?" I rephrase myself.

She rubs her shoulder nervously and looks beyond me. I look back to get a glimpse of what she's ogling at.

All I see are two C shape lounges which I didn't notice while crossing down here in the kitchen. One's orange and the other purple, both under the huge bright chandelier that shines down the whole space.

I look back to her expecting an answer and finally she talks.

"Because I'm like you."
