Thirty-nine

My body feels lifeless, no pain just a casual numb feeling. I flutter my eyes open at a very slow speed. Bright light rain down on me and I stay focus in keeping my eyes open, my eyelids strive, too weak to stand the light, it want to embrace darkness. I become scared not wanting to close them in fear that I may not be able to open them again.

"She's moving, Sofia." I hear a familiar voice that relax my muscles and slowly my body cooperates.

Someone with golden hair shade my view suppressing the light a little, my brows squint as I recognize the soul. She smiles really wide that I smile back and call her name.

"Tracy." I whisper.

"Thanks goodness you are awake." she grins, really wide as her eyes show her excitement.
