After years of abuse Mylana Evans runs away with every intention of crossing the Canadian border but after a pit stop in a small town on the coast of Maine. She is won over and determined to make a new life for herself. She takes a job as a sales clerk and rents a small house on the outskirts of town. She tries to keep a low profile, but she is soon won over by the warmth and excitement of the small town of Camden. With the help of the small community she learns to trust and love again.
