Chapter 17

We stopped the car right in front of my house. I exited the car smoothly and started grabbing bags. "Don't you dare touch those. I'll carry them." Lucian growled. "You already gave me a ride. I don't need anything thing else from you." I picked up all of the bags. "Don't Inayah." Lucian snapped. "Pick me up later for our date." I said ignoring him. Once I had them I turned around and walked face first into a bare chest. "Inayah who is this?" I looked up into Everett's blue gray-eyes. "This is Lucian, the guy I told you about yesterday." Everett looked at Lucian and glared. "Everett are you and EvaLyn coming over?" I asked, trying to ease the tension. "No. Not today baby." He said smirking down at me. I smiled at him. He bent down and kissed where my shoulder met my neck, earning a gasp from me. I blushed and pushed him away. "Later Red." He breathed. He stuck his hands into his pockets and walked away.

I shook my head after him. I walked away from Lucian's car. "Inayah what the hell was that?!" Lucian growled. I rolled my eyes and turned around. "That was Everett. He's your competition." I purred. "I'll pick you up later." He growled. I smiled. "I can't wait. See ya." I watched him get in his car and drive off.

(Lucian's POV)

I know Everett did that on purpose. I know he knows I'm she's my mate. But that doesn't stop me from wanting to punch his face through a wall. I quickly sped to Devon's house. I really needed to detox. I parallel parked next to a black Mercedes. Then I got inside and stormed to the elevator. Everyone cleared out out of my way. To make my day worse I had to wait for an elevator to get to my floor. I growled with impatience. When it got to my floor a million years on me there were a gazillion people on it. People got off shoving past me doing nothing to stop my blistering anger. When I got inside I punched the button for Devon's floor. The elevator was soon going up.

When the doors opened on Devon's floor, Devon stood there with what I assumed was a ice latte in his left hand. "Come on I know you need to talk."
