Chapter 4:

Her foot swelling up by the second, her bags cluttered across the floor and her jacket which she was holding in her hand was sprawled across the floor along with everything in her pockets. The shine of the water on her foot disappeared as her foot turned red. There was no one outside. Most of her friends and her classmates were still on holiday and she didn't know where her roommate Jenna was. It seemed that the stars were aligning against her favour, but then she remembered that her best friend Judas had probably snuck into the kitchen to steal food. She looked around for her phone but it was too far away, out of arm's reach. She couldn't move her leg but she couldn't reach her phone. She then looked around her to see what was within arms reach and she found Jenna's pointe shoe sitting near her, she picked it up and reached it to try to get her phone. It worked. Trying her best to press Judas's contact was hard with her fingers shaking. It ringed, once, twice… "Bella? I didn't expect to hear from you for another couple of days at least" Judas replied, making it obvious he was eating. "Judas I need your help, I'm in my dor-" Just then, her phone went black and a small loading sign came in the middle. It was dead, with no battery. "Oh no, no, no, this can't be happening" Bella muttered to herself, aggressively poking her phone. She didn't know if Judas had heard her or not, or if he was too busy taking food from the pantries. Deciding to wait a couple of minutes, she sat, trying to hold onto her leg. 5 minutes later she heard footsteps outside her dorm and she was so happy that she tried to move but then shrieked in pain. "JUDAS, HERE, QUICK" Bella screamed out to the footsteps which she recognised as his distinctive ones. "Gee, Bells, I'm coming," he said, fastening his footsteps. "Oh my god Bella what happened," he said dropping the bag of chips he was eating from, his eyes round as saucers and his mouth shaped into a perfect 'O'. "I- I don't know, there was water on the floor, I think I broke my leg, can you get help?" she said, squinting her face. "Yea, of course," Judas replied and ran off to go find a teacher.

Judas was back 2 minutes later with a teacher who was also shocked at her sight and she called the school nurse who immediately came and tied up Bella's leg in a bandage and put an ice pack in it to prevent it from swelling more and to numb the area. They put her in a wheelchair and took her to the nurse. The nurse then gave her some Tylenol and helped her get on one of the beds where she was able to rest it. Soon her mum would come to get her and take her to go to the hospital.

She lay on the nurse's bed with a cushion under her foot and Judas was sitting next to her icing her foot. He was constantly talking and cracking jokes trying to lighten the mood but Bella could only think about 1 thing. Why and How had this happened. She was just a regular girl who went to school and was trying to make a career out of her dance, the worst thing which she would have ever done was probably talk back at her teacher once but that was it. Why was this happening? It couldn't have been a coincidence that she was set up to fail her exams and that she had now hurt her foot in the same month now was it? Thinking about how she wouldn't be able to dance for a while now and that it would take really long for her leg to heal, a fat tear dropped from her emerald green eyes. It trickled down her face staining her soft pale skin. "Hey Bells" Judas said in a very different tone from his jokes to Bella, putting a hand on her shoulder to comfort her, "These kinds of things happen a lot, you dance and that just means that it was bound to happen someday, guess what, when dancers fall, they are able to get back up again and dance like nothing happened, someone like you with a real passion can't be shaken with an injury like this. You will go back to the stage with your skills and you will dance the floor off" he said, concentrating into her eyes to try and say that he really meant it. "I love you," he said, kissing her forehead. "Love you too" Bella replied, trying to smile. " But Judas, " she began, "I don't think that this fall was accidental, when I walked into that room, there was water on the floor and there was no way it was there by accident because I got to the room at around 12:10 and we both know that the janitors clean the rooms thoroughly at 12, plus Jenna wasn't even the- OMG JENNA, SHE SPILT THE WATER SO I COULD GET HURT" Bella furiously spoke attempting to get up again but her leg was too hurt and she couldn't move. "Bella, calm down, I see where you are coming from but if you keep screaming and fidgeting, then your leg will probably hurt more, what you are saying is highly possible because I walked past her boyfriend's room when I was coming to you and there was no one in there," he said with a confused and thinking expression on his face. "Where the heck is she?" Bella questioned. "Bella, your mother is here, we will take you outside on the wheelchair," The nurse said to her. "Bells, you go to the hospital, and please take care of this leg, keep me updated, I'm going to look into this more," Judas said, kissing her cheek and running out. In the meanwhile, the nurse helped Bella get on the wheelchair and took her to her mum. "Oh Bella," her mum said, running to her and giving her a hug. They both then helped her get into the car and her mum took her to the hospital.
