Chapter 40.

I walked Eleonora into my office; actually the real Gustavo Rodríguez's office, and shut the door behind us. I led the way to the section where the comfy sofas sat, uninhabited, and took my seat.

"Have your seat, Nora," I gestured her to sit adjacent to me.

"Thank you, Señor Gustavo."

"Yes."

The atmosphere was odd and quiet for a careless minute, it bothered me. The fact that her eyelids were breathing rapid, further revealed how tensed up she was.

'Perhaps, I should initiate a conversation to get her in a lighter mood.'

"Would you like to have something, water maybe?"

"No, Señor. I am quite alright," a smile limped across her face and back into her pocket.

"Well then, I guess it's straight to the business of the moment. What couldn't you tell me, earlier?" Maybe I am too direct. But, the truth remains that I've never quite fancied the concept of suspense. So, on with it, Nora before I lose what's left of my mind.
