Chapter 74

Dora had a dozen thoughts floating in her mind as she tried to figure out who was at the other end of the call.

A careless minute glided past after she had placed the receiver on her ears. She felt upset. She felt toyed with. But just before she could hang up on whoever it was, the tempo of a familiar voice struck a chord in her memory.

"So... You've been ignoring my calls, deliberately. I see."

"Tiberio?!" she sat up as she exclaimed.

Instantly, she began to feel guilt; guilty that she had done all in her power to block any channel through which he could communicate with her.

But she didn't think he'd do this; hide his Caller ID. Was he that desperate? Why did he want her so badly?

Even so, her argument remained that he had shut her out of his house in the cold of the freezing morning. She was not prepared to let go yet.

Adjusting himself on his tall black leather office chair, Tiberio got ready his reply.
