The Compass

I raised a brow and chuckled slightly. "It's a compass" I said in a duh tone.

"Clearly it's no ordinary compass. There must be something special about it." He stated, examining it closely. I blinked and giggled once more.

"You're joking." I laughed.

He narrowed his eyes looking at me and moved closer. Suddenly, I became silent, looking up at him. My ears down and my breath quiet. He grabbed ahold of my chin and pulled me closer to him. You could practically cut the tension with a knife.

"Does it look like I'm joking?" He questioned.

"N-no.." I stuttered.

He raised a brow and eventually pulled away. "Hmph" He mumbled and continued examining the compass. I let out a sigh of relief and looked over, as the three pirates came back.

"Finally" Seth uttered. "What took you so long?" He asked them.

"We got lost." One said, rolling his eyes.

Seth hissed and snatched the fruits the pirates had found. He sniffed them and mumbled to himself. He ate a few bites and handed me the rest.

"Now, how about that compass?" The pirate said, holding his hand out.

Seth looked him up and down with a raised brow. "You know, I think I'll hold onto this a bit longer." He grinned.

"What?! But you promised-"

"I promised nothing." He quickly interrupted.

"We should just kill you. Right here, right now." The other pirate stated.

"Go ahead. See how fast I rip your bloody heads off." Seth hissed calmly.

For a moment, it was silent.

"Now, why do you need this old thing so badly anyways?" He asked.

Again it was silent.

Seth groaned. "Do I have to torture it out of you?" He threatened.
