Draconian

Seeing the tattoo that ran all the way from Daron's left hand up to his face, and spreading onto his chest and back, seeing the indescribable symbols and mysterious power they were releasing, Zack was stunned.

He knew what these tattoos were, and knew what they meant.

At this moment, he could not help but mutter to himself,

"Draconian…"

However, everything soon made sense to him. He knew that the size of one's tattoo signified, and that normal members of this race had a small tattoo the size of an armband. And anyone who had a tattoo of that size would create astonishing warriors who could rival Intermediate Knights with just pure strength, without even training at all, and would reach this level as soon as they matured into adult Draconian. What was most frightening was that as soon as they became adults, their talent in terms of magic would be revealed, and anyone of them could become mages.

Since draconians never actually fought for territory, and were satisfied with the tiny bit of land they had on their northern peak, draconians and dragons were one of the few races who were friendly with humans.

That was why Zack knew about this. He had met a draconian on one of his travels, and he was already stronger than Zack without having done any training in his entire life. This had made Zack incredibly envious, but soon became friends with this draconian.

What was just as scary as their talent was the frightening strength they would show if they became a mage. Zack did not know the specifics about it, but he knew that draconian mages were a as powerful as human mages of a rank higher, or something along those lines.

Suddenly, many things began to make sense to him. If this kid was a Draconian, then all the monstrous talent he had shown this far was acceptable, in fact, it was slightly below par since he was not already an Intermediate knight.

However, Zack realised the mistake in his thoughts. 'This kid is too young to become an adult. That draconian named Barton clearly mentioned that a draconian needed to be at least 20 years old in human age before the bloodline kicks in and makes them rival Intermediate knights with just the pure strength of their bodies. But this kid is not even 10, and is already advancing to Official Knight?'

After a few moments of hesitation, Zack simply shrugged and decided to protect the lad who would protect his daughter. He knew he had a lot of enemies, and some day or the other someone would come for his life or the secrets he had with him.

He needed someone like Daron who would willingly run away and protect his daughter instead of fighting to the death along with his master like Zack's other disciples. Zack had already come to know Daron's true personality, and he knew that he really cared about those around him, but he seemed to be creating a conscious distance with everyone.

Therefore, he knew that Daron would be able to abandon his master for a wish to save that very master's daughter.

Soon, a minute passed, and the space around Daron began to ripple and morph, trying to break Daron out of this dimension and throw him into the endless void outside.

This was exactly as it was written in the book. The process of advancing was essentially a life-threatening game of sumo wrestling. The world which was like an unstoppable giant was trying to push Daron, who was like a weak thin figure out of the dimension that was the ring. Thankfully, this process had a time limit, and anyone that could survive this force would advance. Essentially, he only had to hold on until the time ran out.

However, his expression changed as he felt the force was getting stronger and stronger every second, and Daron was feeling like he was losing traction to the ground and was slowly being pushed out.

Naturally, no one who failed would actually be pushed into the void, but would only have all their Internal energy ripped out of them and thrown into the void, leaving the people crippled, dead or with permanent injuries.

However, Daron did not like the feeling of being suppressed and pushed back. It made him feel weak and insignificant, like an ant trying to fight against the force of a bulldozer. This was an impossible task.

However, just as his Internal Energy was going to be ripped out of him, the tattoo suddenly shone and a surge of energy covered every part of his body. His muscles instantly grew, and his muscles instantly became denser. His hair grew a little bit more and so did the tattoo. However, these were all not important changes. The most important was that the energy fought back against the unstoppable force of nature.

Now, it was almost like that little ant suddenly become the size of a human, and completely stopped the unstoppable force in its tracks.

[The Inheritance bloodline evolved? So not only does it grow with time, but also depending on the situation and needs of Master Daron? Seems useful.] Sirious commented in Daron's brain and put this comment with all the others into the 'to be read' pile that was slowly growing since Daron could no longer hear her.
