[Challenge 1: You are now the villainess of the novel 'Love In Spring Time', Dahlia Baudelaire. Your objective is to overthrow the current heroine, Alice Edwin, and become the new heroine of this world. You also have to have at least two of Alice's love interests fall in love with you instead.]
Dahlia blinked as Buddy relayed her first challenge to her, her mouth parting in shock.
So her first job was to steal the title of 'heroine' from a girl named Alice. She wondered at first whether Alice had done something to warrant this kind of challenge, but figured, in the end what did morals matter here? Whether she had to ruin an innocent person's life or not, Dahlia would still do it, there was no use thinking about right and wrong. She wanted to go home, after all.
~Buddy? Give me all the information you have on the villainess.
[Dahlia Baudelaire is the only daughter of Terrence Baudelaire, the only Duke of Lunaria. Duke Baudelaire has the most power in Lunaria after the royal family, and he is known for being violent and unruly. Dahlia Baudelaire grew up spoiled as an only child, and in her father's eyes she can do no wrong. Since she was young, ever since she first saw the first prince, Noah, she's been demanding for an engagement between them, but he rejects it every time. As of now Dahlia has yet to do anything truly villainous, but originally in the novel she was supposed to begin bullying Alice once she found out she was the woman who Noah loved. Dahlia's future according to the original plot is to die at the hands of assassins, when her own plan to kill Alice goes awry.]
~Right... and the heroine?
[Alice Edwin grew up in the castle as a maid in training. Her mother was the Queen's most favoured maid, and so Alice's life in the castle was pretty comfortable. Alice has just had her twentieth birthday and is now officially a palace maid. Nothing is known about her father, as Alice's mother had gotten pregnant after a one night stand with a mysterious man, but her father is actually Duke Baudelaire, and Dahlia and Alice are actually half sisters. In the novel after Dahlia dies, the duke storms into the castle to blame Alice for Dahlia's death, but then happens to see Alice's mother and realises that Alice is also his daughter. In the end Alice moves into the Baudelaire estate and the duke takes her in as his daughter.]
~Oh... it might've been a good thing Dahlia was already dead at that point then... or else she would've just died from anger then. Anyway... tell me about Alice's love interests.
[Because Alice grew up in the castle, though she was forbidden contact with the princes, she ended up meeting Noah a few times by accident anyway. In those brief meetings, Noah fell for her at first sight, and since then he has only had her in his heart. Alice, however, doesn't have too strong feelings for Noah, and instead is in love with her childhood friend, Lucas. Lucas was also raised in the castle, but as a knight in training, and they often played together as children. Lucas also likes Alice, but knows of Prince Noah's feelings for her, so he doesn't dare make a move. The third and final love interest is somebody that was supposed to be introduced further into the story. He is Dahlia's shadow guard, Zeke, a man that Duke Baudelaire had assigned to protect and watch over Dahlia in secret. Since Dahlia kept tormenting and bullying Alice, Zeke would see those scenes and think how unfair it was for Alice to be treated that way, and though he couldn't directly interfere he would wish that he could stop and help her. Eventually those initial feelings of protectiveness developed into love and when he found out Dahlia hired assassins to kill Alice, he was the one who turned it on her and had Dahlia killed instead.]
For a moment, Dahlia stopped breathing. Wasn't this too hard for the first challenge?? She was just starting but two of the three love interests were already in love with Alice, and she was already known by one of them as an annoying stalker. Even the third love interest, who should be the easiest since he hasn't yet developed any feelings for Alice, is also at the same time the hardest one because he's her shadow guard. How is she even supposed to talk to him?
Dahlia fell back into her king sized bed and groaned.
She appreciated the convenience of the villainess having the same name as her, but why was every other aspect of this challenge seemingly impossibly difficult?
She was already beginning to doubt her ability to pull this off.
