Ghost's POV

I rushed over to the radioactive room with Emily.

'Please be okay.'

I entered the room and there was Keegan, shirtless but looking fine.

"Dad? Mom?" gasped Keegan

"Oh thank goodness you're okay." cried Emily as she hugged him

I approached him but I didn't know what to do, whether to hug him or just leave him so I raised my two arms and hesitated, it felt like my arms wouldn't do what I told them to do. So I just grabbed his shoulder and patted him making sure he was okay.

"Are you okay?" I asked

"I'm fine, thanks to Rina." said Keegan

Rina entered the room as she was wiping her hands.

"Keegan's fine, he didn't consume any radiation so he's free to go." said Rina

"Where am I though?" asked Keegan

"Uhh if I'm here where do you think we are?" asked Rina

That's when Keegan's eyes widened.

"We're in a Sentinel HQ?" asked Keegan

I nodded and he seemed to get desperate.

"Did I get the invitation?" asked Keegan

I looked at Emily and she didn't seem to know how to explain it.

"Well, I uhh..." trailed off Emily

"Did I or did I not?" asked Keegan in desperation

"You did get it but-"

"Yes!" cheered Keegan, cutting me off, "Yes! Finally!"

I've never seen him get this happy before in my entire life and I didn't want to ruin his mood. To be honest, Keegan's still barely ready; he just needs another month of experience before going but then I remembered something.

"Here's your invitation." I said as I handed him an envelope.

Emily looked at me with wide eyes as Keegan snatched it out of my hands and opened it. As he was reading his eyes widened and his smile kept growing.

"Yes! I did it!" cheered Keegan

That's when Emma walked in with her military gear on.

"Oh Emma you're here! How was bootcamp? And what are you wearing?" asked Keegan

She was wearing a one piece all black tights almost like a military swimsuit with a chest harness, a belt and some leg straps. She had knee caps on with some boots that looked like rain boots but were perfect for stealth, tight with no laces instead there were straps that tighten the boots.

(Just think of the Warzone dark roze skin.)

"It was, good." replied Emma, "I graduated as the top student."

"Doesn't matter, I got the invitation to Sentinel before you." boasted Keegan

Emma looked at me and I just signaled her to go along with it.

"I got mine yesterday." said Emma as she showed him her envelope.

Keegan's smile disappeared and Rina just smiled awkwardly.

"What how? I thought that wasn't possible." said Keegan

Emily sighed and handed him a file of Emma's results. He took it and began reading it and the more he read the more he looked shocked.

"Her results were three times better than yours. The only thing she lacked more than you was, well cleaning." said Emily

Rina chuckled a bit.

"Looks like you lost." said Emma

Keegan sighed.

"Was this part of your plan?" asked Keegan

He looked up to me.

"You made me stay in the Marines for a year so I could join Sentinel with Emma?" asked Keegan

I stayed not knowing how to explain it.

"What do you want me to say?" I asked, "Lie? Make you feel better?"

"Make me feel better? You know that I wanted to join Sentinel for a long time yet you think this will make me feel better?" asked Keegan

"I'm only doing what I think will be good for you." I replied

"Are you serious? Now you're acting like you cared for me my entire life." said Keegan

"Keegan enough." said Emily

"Do you love me? As a dad?" asked Keegan

His question made me back up a bit.

"Keegan, your father loves you." said Emily

"If you did then you would have allowed me to join Sentinel." said Keegan, "Everyone around me who knows you will think I'm weak. Every time someone sees me they think of you and do not understand how much it weighs on me. The fact that I can't be better than you."

"Are you done?" I asked slowly getting a bit agitated

Emily slowly looked at me.

"What are you? A coward?" I asked

Keegan glared at me.

"I didn't teach you to blame others. Yes this world is a fucking shithole, you're not going to get everything you want from it. This world will force you onto your knees and no matter how hard you fight back it'll get harder. But it's not about how hard you hit back, it's about how hard you get hit but keep moving forward." I said, "Good people do that, heroes do that but cowards don't. Cowards go around blaming others for their failures and other shit and I didn't want you to end up like that but now here we are."

"Ajax calm down." said Emily

"Sorry." I sighed

Keegan seemed pissed off so he grabbed his shirt and left the room. I sighed realizing I fucked up and I took a seat on a chair.

"Ajax, it's okay he was in the wrong." said Emily

"But I was too harsh." I sighed

"No you weren't, don't worry." comforted Emily

"Uhh dad I need to ask you a favor." said Emma

"What is it?" I asked

"Well can I ask you privately?" asked Emma

I nodded so Emily and Rina left the room and Emma took a seat next to me.

"Why, no not why, how did you get your code name Ghost?" asked Emma

I looked at her and back at my hands.

"Malvik gave it to me." I replied

"Oh I see." said Emma

"Why?" I asked

"Yesterday while I was here learning procedures and protocols, everyone was talking about you since I'm your daughter. They were wondering where you got the code name Ghost, some said it was because you appear out of nowhere. Others say it's because you let emotions pass through you, like an actual Ghost." she replied

I looked at her and she seemed sad.

"I didn't know what to say, I know you have emotions but I couldn't say anything. I felt like I failed you." said Emma

"Emma don't worry." I said as I patted her head

She looked up and back down.

"Their reasons are half right half wrong." I said, "But name doesn't matter."

"I know it doesn't, but now that I'm in Sentinel I wanted to ask you for a code name." said Emma

"A code name for you?" I questioned

I thought about it, thinking about what she does best for a while.

"Reaper." I said

"Reaper? Why?" asked Emma

"You bring death upon those who deserve it." I replied

Emma smiled and nodded.

"I like it. Thanks dad." she said

I smiled and just patted her head.

"Take care of your brother." I said

She nodded and took out a black mask.

"I will." she said as she put it over her face.

The next day

Keegan's POV

Yesterday pissed me off and I was still not in a good mood. Even though I was in Sentinel now I just feel like I wasn't good enough to join. But it's really a whatever, I will surpass my dad no matter what. I already learned all the procedures and protocols now all I need is a code name, Emma's code name was pretty cool but I didn't want my dad giving me one so I thought about it.

"Keegan, it's time to meet our Master Sergeant." said Emma

"Coming Emma." I sighed

"You're not supposed to be calling me Emma." replied Emma

"Right, I'm not going to get used to this." I replied, "Coming Reaper."

Reaper had her mask on and more gear, she was wearing the swimsuit looking thing which also had a tight hood making her look bald. She also had a black mask and the only design was the lips. She had headsets on with a helmet that had a cool visor, the ballistic vest and gloves. She was completely dark, she can probably hide in dark shadows in broad daylight and not be spotted.

"Have you thought of a name?" asked Emma

"I think so, I think I'm going to go with Scarecrow." I replied

I thought it sounded cool but I couldn't tell Emma's facial expression because of her mask.

"Cool, let's go." she said

I grabbed my helmet and walked next to her through hallways. She was carrying a Kriss Vector and I was slightly confused.

"Why do you have a vector? They only have 13 rounds in one mag." I said

"Mine has 32." she replied

"Oh." I simply said

We got to this door and pressed a button.

"Come in." said a familiar voice through a small speaker on the monitor

The doors slid open revealing an office.

"Sir." saluted Reaper

Lieutenant Colonel Kit turned around and he smiled.

"Welcome to Sentinel." he said, "You two will be a team and you'll have a Master Sergeant leading the two of you."

"Yes sir." replied Reaper

"Keegan did you come up with a code name?" asked Kit

"Yes sir, it's Scarecrow." I replied

Kit looked at me and raised an eyebrow while smiling.

"Did your father give you that?" asked Kit

"No sir." I replied

Kit nodded and typed something on something that looked like an iPad then he went to a machine and took out two dog tags.

"Here." said Kit as he handed us our dog tags.

I took it and put it on.

"Follow me." said Kit

We left the room and walked through the hallways until we got to this door that led to an observing room. I looked out the window and we were looking at a pool which confused me but then I saw two Sentinels training with other Sentinels watching. But one of the Sentinels in the water was extremely fast even in water. He was swift and his punches and swings seemed to have some effect against his opponent.

"He's so fast underwater." I commented in surprise

"His name is Kraken, best in water. He nearly got your dad once." said Kit

"If he's fast underwater he must be fast on land." implied Reaper

"Precisely." said Kit

I watched as Kraken came out of the water, he had a face tattoo and a couple on his arms and body.

"He was in the Navy SEALs before we invited him 2 years ago." said Kit, "He'll be watching over you two so don't worry."

"Did you ask him to be our leader or did my dad request him?" I asked

"I did." replied Kit, "Oh and by the way, he's a bit crazy."

"Crazy?" I questioned

"Follow me, you two will meet him personally." said Kit

We left the observing room and went down to the entrance of the pool where Kraken was dressing back into Sentinel gear.

"Sir." he saluted

"At ease Kraken, it's time for you to meet your two subordinates." said Kit

I was able to get a closer look at him and he has an undercut haircut and he looked like he was just a normal white man.

"Ohhh, names Alex Morgan but call me Kraken." he said

'Kraken is such a cool name.'

"So what are your code names?" asked Kraken

"Reaper."

"Scarecrow."

"Oooo spicy." chuckled Kraken

"Train them and stand by, you may have your first mission in two days." said Kit

'In two day?! Yes!'

I felt my heart leap with joy as Kit turned and left.

2 hour later

Keegan's POV

I pulled out my phone and dialed a number and waited for her to pick up.

"Hello?" came her voice

"Hey Ashley it's me Keegan." I replied

"Keegan holy shit! Where are you? I heard you were the only one who made it out alive." she said

"I got the invitation to Sentinel so I'm at their HQ." I replied

"Wait, that's great! I'm proud, I knew you were going to make it." she said

"Thanks." I replied, not really wanting to tell her what happened, "Anyways, I have a question."

"Yea?" she replied

"You said, I was the only one who made it out alive?" I asked

I heard her sigh on the other end of the phone.

"Out of the 100 Raiders that were sent there and the 8,000 other US military personnel from any branch, more than 30,000 from other nations, 800 Talibans and over 100,000 civilians were all killed by the nuke. You were the only survivor." she replied

My heart sank, entire armies wiped out and I was the only survivor.

"How did they even get a nuke?" I asked

"We're trying to figure that out but I think Sentinel has answers." she replied

"Who's that?" came a voice from the other end of the phone

"Damion? What are you doing? Ugh whatever, Keegan I need to get going. I hope we see each other soon." said Ashley

"Definitely, I'll see you soon." I replied

She ended the call and I stood there, in utter shock.
