Reaper's POV

I've been in Sentinel for 2 years now. Kraken and I have been doing missions as often as we could, some went good, some went bad but in the end we always got out safely. But now, we're getting more squad mates.

"They got here yesterday so they know the procedure and all that." said Lieutenant Colonel Kit

"Yes sir." replied Kraken

"Follow me." said Kit

We left his office and walked down the hallways until we got to a locker room. Kit pressed a button on a tablet next to the door and the door opened and my eyes widened. Everyone who was my friend was standing there in uniform but no gear on.

"At ease." said Kit

I looked at every single one of them, Conor, Ellie, Tony, Marcus, Leon and Alex.

"This is Kraken, your squad leader and all of you know Reaper aka Emma." said Kit, "Your squad name will be Spartan team 058."

Everyone nodded in response.

"Muster your squad." said Kit before leaving, "Oh and by the way, these are the children of Ghost team."

"Yes sir." he replied

He turned around and smiled.

"The name's 2nd Lieutenant Kraken and I'll be your squad leader. This is Sergeant Reaper and I assume you all know her. I want you all to quickly introduce yourself with your name then code name." said Kraken

"Name's Alex Vale, code name Bullseye." said Alex

"My name's Conor Tront, code name Doc." said Conor

'He must have studied to be a medic on the field.'

"Leon, code name Tower." replied Leon

"Ellie, code name Specter." replied Ellie while smiling

"I'm Tony, code name Astra." said Tony

"Name's Marcus, code name Dynamite." said Marcus

"Okay, I want to see your skill set so gear up. I'll be waiting for you in the training dock." said Kraken, "Lead them there."

He leaves and everyone starts dressing into their gear.

"You guys all got invitations right after graduating?" I asked

"No I had to wait for mine." said Doc

"I got it immediately." said Astra

"I see." I simply replied

I watched as everyone geared up but I saw that Conor also had a mask on just like me except he only had eye holes. (Think of Nikto from warzone.)

'Is he trying to copy me?'

Tower was wearing the full helmet where there's a metal riot face mask covering her entire face. Astra had his own personal visor on his helmet which looked like a VR headset except smaller and he wasn't wearing anything that covered his mouth and nose. Specter had a black beanie and wore the same kind of tights as me but she had an eye piece instead with a bandana. Dynamite was all wearing regular sentinel gear except he had his gas mask on. Everyone except Specter and Doc mostly had the regular Sentinel gear fashion style. Bullseye had an invisibility cloak over him so I assumed he was going to wear that all the time.

"Follow me if you're all ready." I said

Everyone nodded and we made our way towards the training dock where Kraken was waiting.

"All of you are going to go through a VR simulation of a real life situation." said Kraken, "Who wants to go first."

"I'll go." said Bullseye

"Okay, Reaper and I will be at the overwatch room." said Kraken

Kraken and I left and entered the overwatch room.

"Ready Bullseye?" asked Kraken

Bullseye puts on the VR equipment and gives us a thumbs up.

"Okay, starting in 3, 2, 1." counted down Kraken

I watched from a screen as Bullseye began playing the VR. He was in some kind of village with a lot of shacks.

"Where is this place?" I asked

"Favela, Brazil." said Kraken

Bullseye played the VR and it was pretty cool, if you move the floor moves with you so that it makes you stay in the one spot. Bullseye was fast and quick witted, killing anyone but then I was proven wrong when he aimed his gun at a kid who held a gun. He hesitated to pull the trigger making himself a target. He died in the VR and I watched as Bullseye shook his head in disappointment.

"Who's next?" asked Kraken through the mic

Specter went next and once she dropped just as I expected, she completed it with no mistakes.

"Well done, who's next?" asked Kraken

30 minutes later

Reaper's POV

"Reaper, stay with Doc and help him a bit." said Kraken, "The rest of you follow me, we'll go to the armory."

Doc and I stayed behind since he scored the least out of all of the members.

"What's your problem?" I asked

"Huh? I just hesitated a lot, that's why." replied Doc

I couldn't tell his facial expression so I sighed.

"What's up with the mask?" I asked

"Oh, well during training camp I always get shit on my face so I thought a mask would help." replied Doc

I tilted my head while looking at him.

"Okay then, let's spar." I said

"Huh? Spar? We haven't sparred since 3 years-"

I didn't let him finish as I kicked his legs making him fall.

"And?" I questioned

Conor got up and rubbed his back.

"Okay okay, just give me a-"

I punched his face and then kneed his stomach before grabbing his arm and kicking his leg, making him fall on his stomach. I held onto the arm and sat on his back while nearly breaking his shoulder. I had my shin on the back of his neck and he squirmed around under me.

"What place did you end up in?" I asked

"Wait Emily, I can-"

"It's Reaper." I snapped

I slowly moved his arm more making him yelp in pain.

"Answer my question." I said

"I placed sixth place." he babbled

"Oh really, and you got the invitation?" I asked

I twisted his arm a bit more and he cried in pain.

"Are you sure you didn't get the invitation just because you're the son of the president?" I asked

"Th-that's not the reason, my-my dad didn't want me to join." stuttered Doc

"And I agree with him. Just watching you play the VR simulation proved to me that you're not fit to be a Sentinel." I said

"I-I, I'm sorry-"

"Why are you apologizing?" I asked

I slowly moved his arm and he continued to squirm in pain.

"Reaper, please stop it hurts." he pleaded

"If I rip your arm you'll be a Bounty Hunter just like your mom am I right?" I asked

"But I don't want to be a Bounty Hunter." he replied, "I always wanted to be part of Sentinel."

"If you want to continue to survive and stay in Sentinel then you need to know when to kill with no hesitation." I said

"Understood." he quickly replied

I looked at his arm then back at him.

"You'll train with me from now on. If I don't see an improvement, you're out." I said

Doc nodded but I wanted a response so I twisted his arm even more.

"Yes ma'am!" he shouted in pain

I let go of him and got off of him. Doc slowly got on his knees and rubbed his shoulder in pain.

"Get up, you have a lot of training to do."

Ashley's POV

Apparently, there's another team who's going to be working with us. Alfred, Calvin, Lehman, Vanessa and Mina were all rookies who are in one squad. In my squad I have, Milo, Damion, Joshua or Josh doesn't matter, Kyle, Thomas.

"Hey Ashley." called out Captain Falco

"Yes sir." I replied

"Help the new recruits with their belongings." he replied

"Yes sir." I replied

I approached my squad and they all looked tired from the previous mission.

"Hey we have another mission." I said

"Another one?" groaned Damion

"Yes another one, is there a problem?" I questioned

"No, no problem." replied Damion

Ever since Keegan's death I became a bit more strict. I've become more like my mom now and Brooks found it a bit weird.

"This one is to just help the new rookies." I said

"Oh, not bad." said Kyle

"Let's go." I said

We waited at the airfield for the Boeing to land.

"So the new squad is basically everyone else." said Damion

I nodded in response. Brooks yawns and opens an MRE and starts eating it.

"Stop eating Brooks, that's your eighth." said Thomas

"You're just like Calvin." sighed Milo

Brooks continued eating and ignored the other two. When the Boeing landed the tail opened and all the rookies began to pour out. I looked for our friends for a while and they were the last ones out.

"Alfred, Calvin, Lehman, Vanessa and Mina." said Josh

They all waved at us and we all greeted them before helping them.

"I'm hungry, the ride was so long and cramped." complained Calvin

"I wonder who's going to be our squad leader." said Mina

"Probably 2nd Lieutenant Udo." said Lehman

"Why did you two join the Scouts? You two could have made it into the Royal guards." said Josh

"We're doing that after our 4 year service." replied Mina while smiling

"Oh, that's nice." said Josh

"All 5 of you, report to Captain Gabi's office." I said

They all nodded and departed from us.

"Hey Ashley, what do you think mom's doing?" asked Brooks

"I don't know, probably with Uncle Armin again." I replied

"Do you allow them to?" asked Brooks

"I really don't care. As long as they're happy then I guess I'll allow it." I replied

"I see." he replied

"You?" I questioned

"Me? I could care less. It might be weird at first but I think I'll get used to it. Plus we're adults." he replied

"Right." I replied

"I also have another question." said Brooks

He grabs my arm and leads me away from the others to a private area.

"I wanted to ask you this two years ago but I couldn't." said Brooks

"What is it?" I asked

I already knew that he was going to ask me about Keegan.

"Did you like Keegan back then?" asked Brooks

"You could say that I had feelings for him." I said

"That's tough." sighed Brooks

"Is that a problem?" I asked

"Not for me, but maybe for someone else." I replied

"Who?" I asked

"Someone, I can't tell you that." he replied

I nodded and just left.

Annie's POV

"You've been free these past days." I said

"It's a break for me." replied Armin

Armin and I have gotten pretty close the past two years. He's been helping me get back to my normal routine before Eren was killed and now I feel like a normal person. I still have Eren in my heart but his death doesn't have the same effect as it did for four years.

"You said you wanted to go to a bar after eating?" I questioned

"Oh yea, I'm kind of craving for some booze." he replied

"Oh, okay I'm fine with it." I replied

Armin made a reservation for the two of us at a 5 star Italian restaurant. I wanted to look formal so I was wearing a simple blue dress while Armin was wearing a button down shirt and a suit trouser, something he always wears. We entered the restaurant and took a seat on a table next to the wall. The environment in this restaurant was lovely, soft, calm music was playing in the background and there weren't that many people here. Armin handed me a menu and I began looking through them but I was confused.

"There's a dish here that has donuts as a side." said Armin

I love donuts, those are my favorite type of treat so I nodded.

"Okay, are you okay with lasagna?" asked Armin

"I'm fine with anything." I replied

"Okay that's great, then I'll order." said Armin

Armin called a waiter and ordered.

"Hey Annie, I have a question." said Armin

"Yea?" I asked

"Why are you wearing a dress?" asked Armin his cheeks slightly turning pink

"Oh, because I uhh wanted to look good." I replied, "You don't want to be seen going out with someone like me who always wears a white hoodie."

"Oh, well I don't really care about that." said Armin

He smiled at me and I kind of blushed for some apparent reason.

"Armin, you could have found some other girl who is cheerful like your wife. Why... why did you want to get to know me better?" I asked

Armin blushed and scratched the back of his head.

"I guess, I wanted to know you better and help you out from your suffering." he replied

I smiled and looked away.

"You're a good person Armin." I said

That's when the food came and we began eating and talking about random things. The donuts were really good and the lasagne was probably something I want to try to make in the future. We finished and we walked to a nearby bar and began drinking.

"Armin you're not a good drinker." I said

"Oh, right..." replied the half asleep Armin

He was only on his second bottle and he was barely awake.

"Hey..." he whispered

He gently grabs my hand and looks up at me.

"I like Annie." he said while smiling

My eyes widened and he was literally losing it.

"Don't tell her." he whispered

'Who does he think he's talking to?'

"Please don't tell her." he whispered before falling asleep

I smiled and held his hand.

"I won't." I said
